  1. First of all, nice finishing work. That looks mighty smooth and clean. As for the back. You actually want the seam to show. For the screen used Scouts you can clearly see that the back and tank are to separate parts. You can make this work in two ways. First you can glue the tank to the back without finishing off the seams to give the appearance of two parts but for structural stability they will act as one part. You'll still have the black elastic running from the tank topper rivet as well as on the bottom rivet. Second, you can just place the tank in it's place and actually make the elastic function as it did on the screen used Scouts. Basically the elastic is attached to the top rivet and run on the inside of the back and down to the bottom rivet. With just the right amount of tension on the elastic it will hod the tank in place properly. Someone around here maybe @BikerScout007 has pictures of this very thing and hopefully they can post them to better show what I'm talking about.
  2. That seems to be the best option so far and probably the easiest. I was just hoping that someone who had built leather boots might chime in, but so far nothing.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if this got delayed and will come out in the parks later this year when they need to drum up visitors. With the ride delays and this causing them to be very over budget it probably got shelved for now until they need some new things to bring in business.
  4. So... I need to go to India and find somebody to make boots for us. Even with his skill that didn't look easy. Maybe we should find someone like this to make leather Patrol boots too.
  5. Has anyone made boots from leather like they are on-screen? I made one pair from leather but wasn't totally happy with how I needed to back the leather internally for rigidity. The outside look is amazing though but I'd like to know what anyone else has figured out.
  6. Sorry the late response. It might be possible but you'd most likely need to make this with an injection mold to have something that was a bit thinner but also strong enough.
  7. You could try red rubber tubing instead.
  8. After a shitload of painting I finally finished the Staff (Cattle Prod). The finish work isn't as super as I'd like it to be (I hate sanding) but I think it still looks pretty good. This should be CRL ready at this point.
  9. If you PM me I'll send you a link to download armor files. As for helmets you've got 2 good 3D options. Both are good representations but will take a little bit of work to make fully approvable. Otherwise you can always pickup a helmet kit from a vendor and build that separately. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3416367 and https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/wearable-scout-trooper-helmet-by-jesus-salmeron-3d-print-model
  10. It looks to me like the black series toy photoshopped into the Galaxy's edge backdrop.
  11. Agreed. It helps that it can be molded and bent with a heat gun especially for the connection points where two wires feed into one hole. All the parts that I modeled are fit for 1/4" tubing.
  12. We're going to go with the "Red" buttons like they are seen in the information screen.
  13. I prefer the red too, there might be a case for a variation with either red or mirror but I think that needs to be decided by others higher up than me. The knurling was a slightly complicated process the first time I did it but looks good once I figured it out.
  14. Staff parts almost done. Just printing the handle right now, it'll be done tomorrow with the super neat knurling. *Sorry, my sewing room is a bit of a mess after the holidays.
  15. I think we're sticking with in-game assets but someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I would say the control box is somewhere between satin and flat. It doesn't reflect very much at all so probably closer to flat. The top battery greeble (near the red cables is gloss black. The other one on the side is probably matching as well. I think they're supposed to be black gloss almost a graphite metallic color. The same goes for the Staff, I think it's supposed to be metal so a gloss or graphite color. With the electrified end of the staff being almost shiny black metal. The buttons which look red are actually a weird silver mess on the in-game model. I was never able to figure out exactly what it was. I don't think someone ever meant for the camera to get that close. It's almost a mirror finish on the 3 vertical buttons.
  16. Sorry it's already been shipped out to @The Wayner. No banana for scale. The battery is about 13.5" wide.
  17. Control box printing completed. Sending it out to get finished and setup. All those detail parts are printed separately so they can be painted more easily.
  18. Among many things Jason did I'll always think about the fact that we would never have gotten our speeder started if he hadn't lit that fire. You'll always be trooping with us.
  19. The Jesus Salmeron helmet is also another good design, although it needs the ear holes cut out.
  20. It's a good design and should be approvable with proper finish work. I've heard of others using the models but haven't seen any finished products up for approval yet. Go for it, someone has to be the first.
  21. Here's the link to the files so far. The Cattle Prod is not listed yet as I'm still trying to figure out some parts of the internal structure. Do not distribute these files or give the link to anyone. They are only for personal use and not for reproduction or sale. As the CRL is not complete these are not finalized and still a work in progress. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j0rvqxryxx4gsbs/AABf379kVd6tGghC6h5NaqPDa?dl=0
