  1. That there tank seems to need a bit of trimming to the contour of the back armor. Take a look at the build video for that section. Note the cutout on the bottom and thee notches to fit around the raised area at the lower part of the armor. I believe that the tank can be recovered.
  2. Ahh I see that you've joined the ranks of the BBB wait list folks😄 It'll be there before you know it!
  3. This is looking really great Ethan! Nice work on the kit so far. The only advice I have regarding the cod you seem to be already addressing. Please feel free to reach out if you need any additional help or guidance.
  4. Slow and easy wins the race! We're here for you so don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything. Our DL made a great reference vid and if you haven't seen it yet it's a good place to start.
  5. Glad to hear you're home and settled! You can check out some threads on the soft armor here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/145-biker-scout-soft-parts/ Also don't forget the Scoutopedia which is an excellent reference and that's pinned to the bar at the top of site. We're here to help so don't hesitate to reach out should you need anything or have questions.
  6. That's normal to see and even the movie helmets weren't perfect. It's the visor and it does look like you'll need a bit of trimming, on the red side, to get it to sit right. Take it in small increments trim, check, trim, check, etc. You can use the Scoutopedia, found in the BIker Scout HQ thread, as a reference. I linked on of the helmet pics below.
  7. I padded my knees because I have a tendency to kneel down so the kids can get close and it makes it a bit more comfortable for me. Typically the strapping keeps the knees from moving about much when walking so I've never had a problem there.
  8. We're all a bit nit picky so you're in good company😁 I would like to caution you on the use of the Kenner blaster though. Those are very oversized when compared to the standard pistols so if you plan on replacing it down the line with something more accurate you might want to keep that in mind. Keep up the great work and questions!
  9. That seems to match the picture on the SC website. It shouldn't be a problem for basic approval but if you're concerned it's never a bad idea to reach out to your GML. If you have your blaster I would recommend doing some test fits before you commit to glue or rivets for that part. You want a snug fit but not overly tight or loose.
  10. Basically what you'll have to do is remove the decal and paint that area matte black to match the CRL picture. The snout itself is medium gray and the aerator is matte black. Snout greeblie is medium gray and the aerator portion is painted black. Snout recess is painted black.
  11. Congrats Pathfinder! Well done!
  12. Typically the glue is on the right and left sides of the visor material. You can also add a small bead at the top and bottom but not over the whole visor. Kayelbe is correct in saying that having a gap there helps minimize fogging.
  13. I know Aradun has mentioned it but I want to add that I had a wire wrap for awhile and they are very heavy. They look good and are accurate but require some extra support. I used clips and two rare earth magnets sewn into my belt to keep it restrained. After dropping it several times and repairing it...several times I went back to a lighter TD tube. I'm not discouraging you whatsoever but just want to suggest that you add some additional support to your TD and belt to keep it in place.
  14. Congrats Vanguard! Well done!
  15. Congrats Pathfinder!
  16. Melody @KOtrooper, Mickey @BikerScout007 can you help this trooper with the questions about the ab plate?
  17. No you're not. That's what we're here for and Chopper is one of the best so you are in good hands! This from the guy that spent an evening in the ER getting stitches and trying to explain to the nice Doc that I sliced myself with an Exacto making boot cuts for my ROTJ Scout😂
  18. I'm, sadly, going to have to drop out. My heart says yes but my budget says no.
  19. Congrats Lancer!
  20. Sounds like you're moving along fine. As you're heading back to the states this might be a good time to reach out to the local Garrison in the state where you're landing in. If it's Carolina it would be the Carolina Garrison here: http://www.carolinagarrison.net/ If somewhere else in the US you can find them on the map here and go directly to their site: https://www.501st.com/maps/imagemap-northamerica.php I wish you the safest of journey's as you move and please let us know if we can be of service to you!
  21. Congrats Lancer! Well done!
  22. Some folks also use a dremel tool to make the cuts and smooth them. Your cuts look fine and I also used an Exacto knife to do mine too. You're moving right along so keep up the great work!
  23. MonCal is a good armor set so you won't go wrong there. My kit is a combination of SC and MonCal. The DL recently did a great video on getting started with your build. We're here to help you be successful so let us know if you need any help or have any questions.
  24. What a great reference Chief! Thanks for doing this it's really going to be helpful!
