  1. Hey I wear coveralls too!šŸ˜… This is a great start! If you need any help with the refitting @M.J Is a Jedi master with a sewing machine and fabric and I bet you could bounce any questions off of her. Keep up the great work!
  2. Yes, there is a washer underneath the rivet on the tank topper. You'll need something on the back side of the rivet or you'll crack the plastic on the backside of the tank. While washers are the backer of choice for a rivet you can use a 1/4"x1/4" square of heavy ABS. It just needs to have something to grip so all the pressure isn't applied to the tank plastic.
  3. Even if you donā€™t have a blaster you can still get 501st approval since the blaster is Optional in the CRL so donā€™t worry if you canā€™t source one right away. It might be worth it to wait and see if anything comes up for sale or a new vendor starts up.
  4. I will defer to @Chopper , as I know he'll be looking over your pics, but one of things I notice is that your thigh boxes are much too low. You'll look much better bringing those up to 1"-2" (2.5cm - 5cm) from the bottom of the belt. You should be very proud of what you've accomplished so far. Keep up the great work!
  5. You might be able to talk to Rob about the 20a. Heā€™s got a long history with the Pathfinders and may know where you might find one.
  6. Ukswrath makes a comm unit for the Shoretrooper if you are interested. You can find it in the vendor thread here: Resin is notorious for being rather brittle. I model with a lot of kit add-onā€™s in resin and they can be delicate unless you have a lot of ā€œmeatā€ to grind/drill on.
  7. Welcome to the Pathfinders! I got started after my wife took me to a bookstore and I met the 501st for the first time and was floored. It took me a bit of time, money, and courage to get started but I havenā€™t looked back since. Chopper is a first rate armorer with in-depth knowledge of this costume and is a fantastic resource to help you along. Weā€™re here to help you be successful so please donā€™t hesitate to reach out should you need anything!
  8. Arizona trooper here - Yeah it can get pretty warm in the summer. You have three layers of fabric (bund, vest, and flight suit) over armor. Trick is to know when your body has had enough (and that goes for anywhere in the world tbh) and go and kit down. Pre-hydration goes a long way to helping alleviate a lot of those issues. Our wranglers know what to look for and theyā€™ll kick you to the curb for a water break if you go too long without. I trooped a Ren Fair a couple of years ago and stayed longer than I should and on my way to kit down I kept running into folks in the parking lot who wanted pics with the scout. When I got to the car my gear was drenched and I was awarded with a case of heat exhaustion. Do not let it get that far! I was sick for a couple of days and just hung out in bed in the Air Con. Iā€™ve since learned to pre-hydrate, listen to my body when it says enough (your trooping brain needs to listen to your body brain), stay to the shade, use fans when available, take breaks to drink water and partially kit down to cool down (usually bucket and chest armor off). The scout does have better ventilation than stormtroopers and Vaders, etc that are closed off but you still need to troop smartly and take care of your body and see that others in your troop are doing the same. Especially keep an eye on Vaders and Imperial Guards since they have little to no ventilation in their costumes other than helmet fans. Sorry this was a little long but I wanted to share a Desert troopers tricks to keep folks safe.
  9. Welcome to the Pathfinders! Weā€™re here to help you be successful so please donā€™t hesitate to reach out should need anything!
  10. Excellent review Andy! Thanks for taking the time to do this. If I saw correctly you can't purchase the blaster separately after the initial run correct? I think RS is also making the DLT 19 for the Sandtroopers but I'm not seeing either blasters in their store.
  11. Here is the notice posted 28/1/2022 regarding shipments to Australia from the USPS. Hope you all are doing ok there! The Postal Serviceā„¢ is temporarily suspending international mail acceptance for certain destinations due to impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unrelated service disruptions. Customers: please refrain from mailing items addressed to the countries listed here, until further notice. 1-28-22 Australia Post advises that its daily operations are currently suffering disruption because of severe storms and flooding across the country, and especially in the states of South Australia and Queensland and the Northern Territory. The processing and delivery of inbound and outbound mail items is affected. Deliveries in Queensland to postcode areas 4731, 4805 and 4820 (flooded roads), and areas 4804 to 4852 (road closures) are especially impacted.
  12. Hey if you can't find any shoot me a PM and I'll shoot some to you. I got a whole box of those things that aren't doing anything. You're on your own for the backup plates though.šŸ™‚
  13. Thank you for keeping such a thorough build thread! It will be a great reference to all those that desire to make this armor. Good luck with your submission!
  14. All, While the voting in some detachments and Garrisons is over I would encourage you to continue to be involved in the Legion level elections and detachment/garrison elections if those are applicable to you. It is your right to have your voice heard. Please see the earlier post in this thread for a schedule of events to keep yourself informed. It's an honor to serve you all as your CoG/DCA and I look forward to interacting more with the current members and our new ones in the coming year! Tip of the Spear!
  15. Attention all Pathfinders! The nomination period has ended for Pathfinder DL with no additional candidates. This means that our current DL will continue in his assigned role. Congratulations to Mickey Bukowski (Bikerscout007) Pathfinder Detachment Leader for 2022!
  16. Typically the Madalorian Mercs carry a grogu. One in the local AZ garrison/base has an animatronic one from where idk. We do have an artist in the Garrison that makes the kolwakian monkey lizards and sells those to the mercs too but as far as I know they are not in any CRL. I think itā€™s really a matter of what weā€™ve been discussing here regarding checking with your local command to troop with one rather than a CRL question. I would say the only time you probably couldnā€™t have it is for an LFL troop where you have to strictly follow the CRL.
  17. Hi! Can you post a pic of the part in question? Itā€™ll be helpful to know if youā€™ll need to add a backing piece of ABS before adding the paste. The paste is good for holes and such but a little more tricky if youā€™re trying to fill in a large area. Hereā€™s the link from the FISD on how to make/use ABS paste: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/
  18. Attention all Pathfinders! The official election period has started. Please calmly make your way to the election forum at https://www.501st.com/elections/ to enter your nominations for elected positions if you choose to do so. The nomination phase will end February 4th. Additional information can be found here: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=109747
  19. All, Nominations start at 12:01am GMT today. Everyone is encouraged to make your Imperial voice heard! A schedule of events can be found in the earlier post in this forum. Elections link: https://www.501st.com/elections/
  20. I second that. If you check both those pieces against the CRL photo the MP version is a clear winner.
  21. For those having questions about Detachment Affiliation and Elections please review this post by Nina Marley (DarthValkyr) on the 501st Forum. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=287&t=109725 Keep in mind that the election process will be starting in the next few days so make sure you get your affiliations sorted so you have a voice!
  22. I second Choppers clarification on the kits as well and encourage prospective Lancers to check out that list.
  23. Check out @BikerScout007 post on another 3d printed set regarding smoothing with a cool video!
  24. Welcome to the Pathfinders! We're here to help you be successful so don't hesitate to shout out if you need some help. Recommend you starting a WIP thread here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/96-biker-scout-wip/
