TreeHuggerMatt Scout Trooper ( ROTJ ) WIP
Retrofire replied to TreeHuggerMatt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
So proud of you my friend and you're looking amazing! What a journey you've taken us on and it's coming to a crescendo with your approval. You've been so open and honest though this journey and you should be proud of yourself. There's a few things that need to be tightened up but as @Aradun mentioned the end is in sight. Keep in touch with your GML and we're here to help as well so keep it up! -
Good thinking Bill. It's always easier to remove material than put it back so keep your cuts minimal until you achieve the shape you want to the back armor. Your references look good. I'm sure you've seen this before but check out our armor video. Our DL talks about the tank and gives some background on the look.

A simple option for functional pouches
Retrofire replied to AverageNobody's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Or curse because we end up carrying all the TKs stuff in our pouches.😄 -
@Hask do you have any feedback for this Patrol Trooper? Thanks!
-
I think you're doing fine Bill and I don't think it ever comes out perfect. Look at the scoutopedia and even those aren't 100% spot on. I get that you're a smidge disappointed but not to worry. If you're concerned you can always reach out to your GML to check.

Yeah I think Arne and @Aradun have spoken up. I think what you have is good and that was wise to get feedback from your GML so well done there. Let Chef finish your flight suit and I think you're ready to suit up and submit. Feel free to post up pre-approval photos and Aradun and I can give you a once over if you like. You're doing great! -

Patience recruit! You've been doing a fine job and it'll be done before you know it. I know it's been a long road but you're doing great and closing in on the finish line. Time to make those details pop and get ready for your approval photos. -

Looks like a doctors penlight with some greebs on it. -
Looking sharp Pathfinder! When at the troop you can always have another trooper give you a once over and help adjust items so you look your best. Hope you have a fantastic troop and don't forget to start a thread for your trooping log. https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/141-pathfinder-trooping-awards/

Here's a thread that might be helpful to you.

Those are looking great Bill! Nice work! The slate is more of a medium grey which is what you're shooting for on the indent so wise choice there. I'm really looking forward to seeing this completed and we can't thank you enough for such a thorough build thread. This is a great help to those that will come behind you. So thank you!

Looking pretty good Matt! Remember when it comes to weathering that "less is more". Check the pics in the scoutopedia here for a good reference. Love to see this coming together! http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php -

Hi Melanie and welcome! Love how your build is going so far. I'm going to tag in one of our fantastic armorers MJ @M.J she is a master tailor and can help with pointers should you need. We're here to help you be successful so please feel free to post up if you need. If you haven't had the chance to reach out to the German Garrison I would like to encourage you to do so here: https://501st.de they will be the organization that will approve you into the Legion and you can find folks locally that can help as well if you need. Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing more of this great build as it progresses!

I think you're doing a fine job Bill! Keep up the great work!
-
Yeah. I was actually worried it wasn't loose enough. It has a little play but is flat against the leg in most positions. That does help for round 2, I was going to try to let that one out ever so slightly but I won't do that Ok excellent. Carry on the great work!

Hey everything is going swimmingly my friend! You're "earning" your TKID and walking the same path everyone here has done and you're doing great! Good thinking going back to the video and getting it sorted out! -
Hey Bill it's looking pretty good. Do you feel that thigh strap is tight enough? It shouldn't be taut but snug against your leg when you suit up. You're doing a great job with everything so keep it up!

Scout Trooper armor and soft parts
Retrofire replied to Stephen. Brennan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Looking forward to seeing your build come together and as @Aradun mentioned we're here to help so please feel free to reach out at any time! -
The CRL model is Lancer qualified and you can use that as a model for what you currently have. Check out the pinned topics in the ROTJ armory here for additional information: https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/145-rotj-biker-scout-soft-parts/ You can also reach out to @Chopper and @MrPoopie and provide some pictures if you are concerned. They are the members of the Lancer review team.

Our DL has already given you some great advice. If you are going to go with Wampa you typically want to order a size up from the sizing chart as they run a bit small. MonCal does good work and some of my armor is from him so that's a good choice. We maintain a vendor list here We don't endorse any armor maker but please feel free to post up any questions you have in your WIP thread and we'll be happy to help! We're here to help you be successful!

Chris’s ROTJ Scout Trooper Build WIP
Retrofire replied to Jediwannabe's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Based on the pictures I'm not sure that I would be sanding any more on the shell halves. @BikerScout007 or @Chopper do you have any advice for this trooper? -
Congrats Pathfinder! Job well done!
-
Good luck with your approval and please let us know the outcome!

Retrofire replied to TreeHuggerMatt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Sorry to hear that Matt but I'm sure if you reach out to Chef he'll get you sorted out. Your t-bits will be just fine for basic and easily updated if you go for Lancer.
