Everything looks great! Looking at other WIPs help me think of better ways to improve my own costume
-
Good luck! Just make sure you double check with the CRL before submission and make sure the photos have a nice plain background
-
I had mine sewn around the edge (with some play), feels less constraining and looks better overall in my opinion.

Welcome to the boards Sundi! When you say "Approved Armor" do you mean you're looking for someone's old kit that they are trying to get rid of... or are you looking for an armor kit that you an put together that is approve-able? If it is the first... you may have some luck here, but the Legion boards might also be good place to look as well. If it is the latter, then there are several armor makers that you can contact and start the process with.

Good catch bwattsup ... yes in that case, the Visor is glued onto the Faceplate and then BOLTS into the Top/Back of the helmet. The nuts holding the bolts should be fairly tight, this will keep the Visor up when you lift it.
-
You can glue the lens in if you so choose to in addition... I did a little bit just to sort of seal it in better around the edges.

That's awesome, if the ball gets rolling I'll definitely be interested in getting in on the order list -
Sorry, for whatever reason that link came out to be a shrunk version... if you go to this link it should be the image a little larger: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Scout_trooper?file=Scouttrooper_Fathead.png

Found a pretty high res animated cap that you might want to use as a reference: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131012161515/starwars/images/e/e2/Scouttrooper_Fathead.png

I know a few troopers that attach a small velcro strip on the inside of the edge of the face plate and the outer of the helmet base. Seems to work pretty nicely
-
Hyperfirm comes in one piece, very light rubber blaster. Seams can be visible (at least on mine), but can be worked down if you really desire to do additional work. EDIT: when I get around to cleaning my armor tomorrow I'll see about taking photos

Yup yup, that's the conception of Mr.BikerScout007 Eventually hoping to move toward that, but will keep mine for the time being until money isn't an issue

Gabe's pretty good with responses... I've contacted him a few times for things but ended up not going through with it and he's been nice about it. He also does a lot of troops / family stuff so it may be a good idea to nudge him a little as suggested

I would recommend trying to get ahold of BSN member CRISTONAMO, I believe he likes to buy Rubies/Don Post helmets and make them troopable for fun... might have some good advice
-
A squad member of mine brought their MC TD to an Armor Party and that thing is really really small... he was trying to fit on SC Greeblies and it looked like a tight fit.
-
RedKapp does have a bit of a wrinkle as I am learning myself, going through the process of tightening it up too.
-
Doing the soft parts first is definitely the smarter thing to do, I ended up doing some small alterations on my soft parts to accommodate the armor, such as sewn in velcro to help keep things in place
-
I'm a fan of velcro as well seems to keep everything in place decently
-
It looks like a great first attempt... I think the ears need to pop out a little more, doesnt seem visible in the head on view... and the snout should probably have an indent so you can put the greeblie in the center and paint the surrounding black

Yeah I think I recall someone selling or trying to get rid of something similar to that on the Legion board and nothing about it jumped out as good quality.

It's go time
-
150 for all that?? That seems pretty solid for that price, I was thinking you were paying 300+
-
Unless it's really really cheap, seems like it might be more work than it's worth.
-
If the finished file is available, my work might get a printer next month that can print the blaster in its entirety in PLA type material. Would love to see how it turns out
