As someone with an SC Kit working (slowly) on Lancer, I can tell you that some of the sizes of the straps need to be changed, you'll need to rivet the knee cap, ears on the helmet need to be cut out, need to buy additional clips for your TD, and I'm not sure what else yet
-
SC has the greeblies and they can be bought separately from the kit
-
Looks like you're off to a solid start, looking forward to updates

"If the 501 allows kenner/ hasbro blasters I think they would ok this." Put that on my grave please.

Not sure how I missed this post... it's right up my alley. Whenever you have a printable set I'd love to be a lab rat and print this out... we're getting a large format printer at work that could easily print this as a full bucket or in pieces... so yeah, please let me know

Updated this with some recent Squad Photos... there are some subtle changes from the initial build I still have a lot of minors tweaks I'd like to get done before the end of the year, little by little it's starting to feel more comfortable.

Yeah, working at a 3D Print Shop I'll tell you... getting rid of those lines is critical to making anything look nice

Kropserkel VS Studio Creations
Nexous replied to tckoolaid125's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Basically what Mickey said, except I have a smaller head so I went with a SC helmet -
Yeah, I'd recommend sewing velcro to your undersuit and sticking some industrial stick-on velcro to the armor bits so that they don't shake too loose
-
Haven't installed any in mine either, I cut the holes recently (had the decals from SC) and since then it has been fairly easy to catch a breeze

Congrats Dawn! That was fast... wish I got approved as quickly but all is well, the Scouts grow -

The shoulders look a LOT better seated down, great job on that! -
For pinstripping, I used 1/8" Black found at Autozone, For the bridge, it's a case-per-case basis if I remember correctly... you want to basically bridge whatever gap is leftover between the chest and back sitting properly. Someone can correct me if I am off on this. For the TD Greeibles I'd go w/ SC as a vendor... you can PM for a link because I don't think we're supposed to link them on the boards publicly. You can expect about a two week wait for the parts, he usually ships fast.

Of course! I had to redo a lot of small things my first round as well... its always a work in progress ... but you are definitely on the right track and with a few more adjustments you'll be out there real soon trooping.
-
I've been using postimage and so far no issues, other suggestions work as well!
-
I think that's just a decal "hole", had those on my SC helmet as well before cutting holes out.
-
Looks great so far! I'd suggest sanding / rounding the edges of the shoulder bells. The drop boxes look like maybe there isn't enough slack coming from the back-side so that's why it sorta is bunching up.

question about a "pre-order" helmet offer online

Yes, ABS is a type of plastic and not yer' midsection -
question about a "pre-order" helmet offer online
Nexous replied to CFLStarWarsDad's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
That's a bit much for me personally, but understand people who would pay that much for a fully assembled high quality collector's item... but I wouldn't buy that with trooping in mind. You'll want something you can modify and that'll feel comfortable for trooping. -
From my experience with SC, the quality is good... the strapping sizing for most of the elastics as mentioned somewhere else on the boards aren't exactly to spec and will need to be changed for Lancer. Another complaint I've heard is the shoulder bells are a bit long, but that's something you could easily size and fix for your body-type. Never seen a MonCal in person to make any comparisons

Awesome! I sure will I'm not trying to rush to the finish line or anything, just taking my time with these upgrades... so if I come across some clips I'll be sure to nab them
-
Ah! Well there you have it. Wasn't aware of this "White Variant"
-
Pretty certain they just painted a Kashyyyk Scout white

Super late to replying to this, but thank you! Congrats to you as well, and good luck on your Lancer app Issac! As for this thread, I have some updates if anyone cares to chime in 1) I finally decided to get rid of the decals for the bucket ears... I think I did an alright job, but I am open to critique and/or suggestions to make it more "Lancer" spec. 2) I replaced my old TD box and with a new one I put together... this one has the knob more centered. I just need to replace my white ABS clips with the metal brackets, open to suggestions as to where I can purchase them!

Good deal! If you're going with the SC, Jeff (the guy that runs it) is a great person to work with, I needed some extra decals and he hooked it up at no cost and he's also very cordial with responses, i.e I ordered another TD Box & boot holster last weekend and got them Friday
