  1. It just needs to have the appearance of a one-piece flight suit once you have everything on. I imagine with a pair of Dickies pants and a zip-up work jacket you could probably achieve the same look. This is popular with the female Scouts as it makes it easier for them to do bathroom breaks. I've seen instances where they've purchased a flight suit and then cut it in half. I'll see if I can find some threads.
  2. There was a thread with this very same question a few months back. I'll see if I can dig it up and you can see what that Scout did!
  3. The cover strip should be as posted in the CRL if you're going for Lancer. Where you make up the rest is on the side straps. Those can be as long as needed. We've had bigger folks post this same problem and that solution has worked. Give it a shot!
  4. You look great man, I wouldn't change a thing!
  5. My guess is they get photos directly from LFL to make these toys. THOSE photos are what I want to see, but for our purposes this is the best we are going to get for now. The lack of angles from the film and books about the film means we've pretty much had to rely on the toy to write the CRL. Wouldn't be the first time in Legion history
  6. I want to thank@Hask for taking these for us. Definitely going to help with revising the CRL. Thanks, Kris!
  7. Awesome! You can send them to direct to me if you don't want to worry about hosting them somewhere. I can get them posted in the forum.
  8. WHOA You have the Hot Toys? Can you please take pictures of every angle and send them to us?
  9. I use Tapatalk when posting photos to the forum. Tapatalk will host the photos for you. If you are embedding photos from a photo host, just be careful you are entering the right code. The tags should use brackets "[" instead of "<" It looks like flickr provides a way to format code to post into a forum: https://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157697695697532/
  10. Thank you for being a Lancer Scout and making your costume the best that it can be! I haven't forgotten your Lancer badge, there's a back end issue preventing me from giving it to you right now. I got @Shortstack on the case!
  11. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to welcome Teri "TK-Teri" Moore (TB-21129) to the illustrious ranks of the Lancer scouts! Great job, @TK-Teri!! Make sure you send a picture of your coolest pose to @Shortstack for addition to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Check out her application here:
  12. It's not that clear in the pics, but I just sewed my straps to the nylon closure in the back. this is how it was done in the film.
  13. Welcome, Adam! We are here to help, so let us know if you have any questions!
  14. They should be 1 inch wide. We're going to add that to the Level 2 CRL soon
  15. Chef is a great person to buy from as he was DL here before me. He knows the CRL in and out.
  16. 5 ribs which consist of 6 stitched lines. I think this is where the confusion is coming from. And this is a BASIC requirement, not just Lancer
  17. No nothing official. You don't see them in Battlefront so I suppose "canon" would be no sling. But I understand there are trooping practicalities involved and I certainly would not stand in the way of them. Ultimately when it comes to trooping issues, your Garrison has the final say.
  18. Good job! The more you do it, the better you get!
  19. He's a different Rob, but he works with them all the same.
  20. @CatfoodRob lurks on the boards quite a bit. Maybe he'll chime in
  21. Hey Mike! Here's some quick answers for you 1. Yes absolutely. We have plenty of Shoretroopers with 3D printed kits. Here's a good example of one: 2. Shoretrooper armor can be shimmed as necessary to expand it for bigger folks, but I'd say you may want to skip KW Designs as that kit is fairly slim. 3. We have a list of vendors here: 4. Sean Fields is probably the most popular. Joel Carter and Nico Henderson are also popular makers of 3D files. 5. By all accounts, vacuum formed plastic does hold up better to the rigors of trooping but it is completely possible to build a sturdy suit from 3D prints. Several Shoretroopers are doing it already. 6. Absolutely, please check out the example I posted above. Many more 3D builds can be found here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/129-shoretrooper-wip/ Hope this helps get your started. Please check out our Shoretrooper Armory for more details: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/119-the-shoretrooper-armory/
  22. That's a pretty solid list. Personally, there are better boot choices than Imperial Boots. Check out our Vendor forum -- there are some good boot and soft good makers in there that are superior to IB. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/156-vendor-sales/
  23. We're here for you, man!
  24. Vendors say all kinds of silly things like "501st APPROVABLE!" and the such. They want to sell things. Here's two important things to note: 1. Nothing is approvable until it has been fitted to the wearer. 2. Always follow the CRL. That means mandarin collar. The good news is, they are easy to make.
  25. Outer Rim Garrison ART added to the roster!
