  1. Okay I'll take these one at a time Yeah I think that's a great idea for level 2! I've seen this on the Hot Toys I've gotten my hands on. This is something I would really need to see a picture of the screen used costume to decide upon. The Toy is a great reference but we aren't making a CRL of the Toy. This patch could be there or it could be something they had to do to make the pants, or it was in the original design but never made it to the final character. I'd need a better reference I think. Yeah that's not bad. I might just say "Shoulder armor has no visible strapping". Period. Since we're saying "roughly" I think that's a fair change to make. Hard to get specific without getting exact measurements off the costume. How is it on the Hot Toys? I need to take a look at it again. But just keep in mind we aren't tailoring the CRL to any one particular maker. Seems fair to me. But again, we are writing a CRL for the character in the film, not the toy. I'm pretty sure we had reasons for putting "rubber-like" for the strap at the time. I need to go back through the research to determine why exactly. Good idea! Thanks for the suggestions, we'll incorporate some of these and some others we need some more research.
  2. Yeah I've heard that theory kicking around and it totally sounds reasonable.
  3. Yes. Pathfinder tradition has been to only have 2 levels. We have our basic level and then level 2 which is a higher level of screen accuracy. I mean you really don't need much more than that. You're either completely screen accurate or you aren't. At least that's what the thinking has been!
  4. Excellent! And I expect you to go for Level 2 "CHiPs" once we get the requirements officially added to the CRL!
  5. No they aren't. Please check our vendors list here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19003-biker-scout-vendor-list/
  6. I'm going to go through the CRL one more time and see if there's anything that needs tweaking. Then we can get these up!
  7. Glad to help, buddy. And if you need to see my Shoretrooper Captain build, it may be found here:
  8. I don't use fans but I could not imagine where'd they go in there. Enlarging to 105% might be a good idea in that case
  9. I'm a 7 3/8 and his bucket fits me. I can't wear my glasses in it and it does press up against my nose a bit, but that just seems to be a general Shoretrooper helmet issue. I found that putting padding under the eyes helps to keep it off my nose.
  10. That's what I like to hear! More Lancers
  11. We already changed it. That was the change. We call for smooth white fabric for the bund and cod, canvas/duck cloth for the pouches.
  12. Are we sure that's what it says in the CRL? Level 2 just calls for smooth white cotton fabric. Polished or mercerized is only preferred, therefore not required for Lancer status. We realize polished cotton is tough to get these days. We just want the bund and cod to be made from a lighter, smooth cotton to differentiate it from the heavy fabric of the pouches.
  13. Looking forward to seeing the live action troopers so we can get this CRL done!
  14. Good info! For level 2, your bund and cod need to be a smooth cotton fabric (something light). Pouches need to be canvas/duck cloth
  15. Awesome, Mark! We are here to help you on your journey! Make sure you start a WIP thread so we can assist with your progress
  16. Nice work on making your own bund! It's actually one of the more simple garments -- a cloth rectangle that wraps around the wearer, basically. Please check out this thread for some pointers:
  17. Hmm, it looks like recast Studio Creations armor. It's not the best looking set I've ever seen, but it's workable for basic approval. You have a lot of good scouts in the UKG. Definitely get signed up on the forum there so you can get some local help as well as what we have to offer you here!
  18. Never heard of Low Cost Armours so I don't have an opinion on them. I'd have to see the whole kit. However, your forearm armor is on upside down, so let's get that switched up! Welcome to the fun! Look forward to the rest of your build.
  19. On behalf of Pathfinders command, it's my pleasure to welcome Taylor "Ruthar" Goodson to the Armory Team as our resident Patrol Trooper expert. @Ruthar already has a bunch of responsibilities under his belt, such as Northeast Remnant Garrison Executive Officer, ACD Detachment Costume Advisor and IOC Advisor -- Lenape Command Division Leader, so I was a bit hesitant to approach him about even more duties. But he took up the challenge eagerly, so expect to see him "Patrolling" the PT section of the forum. He's also a Lancer Scout, so his advice will be welcome for that costume as well. Check out Taylor's Patrol Trooper build -- this is a future "CHiP" in the making:
  20. We don't do Level 3 at the Pathfinders. Anything in Level 2 is available for Level 1 as well. It's just that to achieve Level 2 status, you must have ALL of the Level 2 requirements. The language Kris proposed says "may be". So even for Level 2, it's not a necessity. Until we really know how this was constructed on the actual costume, we can't really do anything more than suggest.
  21. @wingnut65 brought this to my attention: The ear bar area is gray and has two bumps. The front bump is narrow and is painted black and the rear bump is wider and remains gray. That should actually be reversed. It should read: The ear bar area is gray and has two bumps. The rear bump is narrow and is painted black and the front bump is wider and remains gray.
  22. Everything you need is found in the CRL, but it basically boils down to: Balaclava Flight suit with alterations Flak vest Cummerbund Pouches Codpiece Gloves Boots Please check out these threads:
  23. Yes he actually sold his PT to Doug Ridley (@LawDoug). I'm still waiting for Doug to finish it up and get approved!
  24. Just FYI, Noel retired from the Legion, so I don't know if he'll be chiming in.
