  1. I want to thank the membership for entrusting me with another term as your Detachment Leader! This past term was one of our best ever, with the 40th Anniversary of "Return of the Jedi" and our Detachment's centerpiece costume: The ROTJ Biker Scout! 2024 looks to be a quieter year, with no Star Wars Celebration or major CRL coming down the pike (though Disney may always surprise us!) But there is still a new CRL to finish up (the Andor ST Grunt), the long awaited Part 2 of the Armor Party video, a renewed push on the Patrol Trooper, and preparations for our next big anniversary in 2025: the 20th anniversary of "Revenge of the Sith" and the Kashyyyk Trooper! The Legion will be busy with elections for the next few weeks, and I invite you all to participate in the ones you are eligible for, whether it's asking questions or just reading what the candidates have to say and making informed decisions. The new term will begin on February 19th, so get your speeder bikes ready!
  2. When all else fails.... read the CRL OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Shoulder bridge covers, covering the join between the front and back of the armor, are made of white cotton webbing or elastic. Covers are between .5 inch and 1 inch wide.
  3. Kropserkel has been winding down their Scout business, but I believe they still have some kits left (I was able to get a new one about a year ago). Just write them an email: info@kropserkel.com Spike offers the Altmann helmet through this site:
  4. As another large-domed Scout, I can tell you you're not going to fit in the SC helmet. So just get the armor Altmann is good. Kropserkel also. RS Props helmet is very spacious too. And if all else fails, you can go the 3D printed route. But I'd try any of those above first
  5. Some of those suggestions I like. Some I don't. But we can talk more about it as your build goes on.
  6. I think you're doing well, man! Good on you for getting out of your comfort zone and trying something different. And once you get the armor and other soft goods on, it will look great!
  7. The only thing you need armor wise is to figure out where your chest piece and belt are going to sit. Belt is pretty easy -- it goes across your natural waist (ie over your belly button, not your hips like modern pants) Depending on the maker, the chest should end just under your pectorals. So the bund needs to fit in that gap. You can probably estimate it pretty well even if your armor is not completely strapped up. The codpiece isn't really dependent on the armor, as it sits under everything and should end right at your groin.
  8. All the major helmet makers back in the day had the return edge around the visor. Even before RS and EFX. Just going through the first couple of posts in this thread, which dates back to 2013, you can see it in all of the major helmet makers at the time, including the Don Post. The Black Series one filled that area in for the electronics and that's what disqualifies it.
  9. I just checked your profile -- that's how much image space you have left. Every rank and file member gets 1MB worth of photos to post. I host my photos on my Dropbox account. Other folks use Imgur. And there's also posting through Tapatalk, You got options!
  10. Hot toys: CRL: Hope that helps!
  11. Not to the same extent but the pattern in the first post contains some great instructions
  12. I used that top one for the bund tutorial:
  13. I added it to the roster yesterday! Well done
  14. @Aradunyou made your own right?
  15. Hey bud, that's awesome. This is the wrong place to ask for access. Also - need info. Your TB ID and the link to your 501st profile. Please see this post: Congrats!
  16. Yes hit me up once you have them. And make sure you sand that thing down really well! I don't want to see any print lines on it!
  17. Well now that I am looking it, it's different in other respects from the film EC-17. It's really a redesign. If you're willing to put in the work to make that blaster, then definitely go for it. But it's going to be some work On the other hand, we could probably just add the standard EC-17 to this CRL. I can talk with command about it and see how everyone feels.
  18. As far as I know... you are clear for takeoff. Hate to say it, but interest in this costume died off after "Rebels" ended and was taken up by "The Mandalorian" Scout. Baby Grogu wins every time But by all means, let me know when you have something!
  19. Well you kinda answered your own question here This one was added to the Pathfinders roster the year before I became DL, so I wasn't behind the scenes in getting it done. But my guess, based on my own experience drafting CRLs, is that one wasn't ready at the time the CRL was being made. The biggest thing that holds up CRLs is a lack of photos of the items in the CRL, and as a blaster is only optional, they could get approved by the Legion without one. And with only a few folks having completed it, no one has come forward with a blaster for this CRL. Now if you have a blaster and some screenshots from "Rebels" (I have to admit, I bailed on that show after the helicopter lightsabers), we'd be happy to take the next steps and get it added. If you're asking someone to create one to add to the CRL.... that's a much bigger ask. You'd have to find someone willing to do it. The Detachment doesn't create props itself to list in CRLs. I haven't seen the blaster, but I'm guessing it's something other than the EC-17 -- and probably doesn't already exist? So you're asking someone to spend the time to create something that there is very little market for. I hope this long-winded explanation answers your question! Bottom line, if you want it added, get me some pics of one!
  20. I just leave mine loose and untied. That has always worked for me, but I do have a big foot!
  21. Hopefully someone local can help you out, but if not, it's really not that bad. Please give this a watch:
  22. We keep a list of vetted Vendors here: But always feel free to ask! Better to only make one purchase
  23. MonCal is one of the most reputable Scout suppliers out there and have been putting Scouts in armor for well over a decade. You are in good hands.
  24. This is exactly what I do. Fits my phone, glasses, trading cards just fine
  25. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the majority of US-based Scouts have SC armor.
