Looks good to me. If you don't add enough batting, it won't look right when you stitch in the ribs

Looks good. Dropboxes are close to the belt like they should be. You might want to position them so they ride a little closer to your front than your back.

@MrPoopie?

This is probably the best option and a lot less likely to break!

kman's yak (yet another Kropserkel) helmet build
BikerScout007 replied to kman's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
You'll need this too once you get the bolts: -
Well the thing with 3d parts is that they aren't solid in the same way vacuum formed plastic parts are. There is an outer layer of a few very thin walls, but the interior is usually hollow with a honeycomb-like structure to give it support. So there really wouldn't be anything to carve into. We've been working with GA to get the files up to date for 501st approval. He has a tendency to pull his models from video games, and a lot of times they don't have the actual details in the models because they layer them over top later on. I can bring our resident 3D expert @MrPoopie in to see if he has any advice.

The exact measurements when it comes to strapping is a Level 2 requirement so you're fine there -- unless you go for Level 2. So if I am understanding you right, the kit is 3d printed, you just didn't print it yourself? If so, I'm thinking it would be enormously difficult to carve a rectangle into the chest piece without shattering it. It's odd that it's not there though -- did they use the correct file?

Sithping Shoretrooper Captain build(Imperial Surplus)
BikerScout007 replied to Sithping's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
Hey Paul! @KOtrooper and @Minimo are our resident Shoretrooper experts, so feel free to reach out with any questions. Also, your build is pretty similar to mine, so here are my threads to the extent they help: -
I want to thank the membership for entrusting me with another term as your Detachment Leader! This past term was one of our best ever, with the 40th Anniversary of "Return of the Jedi" and our Detachment's centerpiece costume: The ROTJ Biker Scout! 2024 looks to be a quieter year, with no Star Wars Celebration or major CRL coming down the pike (though Disney may always surprise us!) But there is still a new CRL to finish up (the Andor ST Grunt), the long awaited Part 2 of the Armor Party video, a renewed push on the Patrol Trooper, and preparations for our next big anniversary in 2025: the 20th anniversary of "Revenge of the Sith" and the Kashyyyk Trooper! The Legion will be busy with elections for the next few weeks, and I invite you all to participate in the ones you are eligible for, whether it's asking questions or just reading what the candidates have to say and making informed decisions. The new term will begin on February 19th, so get your speeder bikes ready!

Chris’s ROTJ Scout Trooper Build WIP
BikerScout007 replied to Jediwannabe's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
When all else fails.... read the CRL OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Shoulder bridge covers, covering the join between the front and back of the armor, are made of white cotton webbing or elastic. Covers are between .5 inch and 1 inch wide. -
Been a few years, ready to build my scout
BikerScout007 replied to holmie827's topic in Getting Started
Kropserkel has been winding down their Scout business, but I believe they still have some kits left (I was able to get a new one about a year ago). Just write them an email: info@kropserkel.com Spike offers the Altmann helmet through this site: -

BikerScout007 replied to holmie827's topic in Getting Started
As another large-domed Scout, I can tell you you're not going to fit in the SC helmet. So just get the armor Altmann is good. Kropserkel also. RS Props helmet is very spacious too. And if all else fails, you can go the 3D printed route. But I'd try any of those above first -
New CTPG Kashyyyk Trooper Armour
BikerScout007 replied to ChrisThePropGuy's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
Some of those suggestions I like. Some I don't. But we can talk more about it as your build goes on. -
I think you're doing well, man! Good on you for getting out of your comfort zone and trying something different. And once you get the armor and other soft goods on, it will look great!

Soft Parts Best Practices
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
The only thing you need armor wise is to figure out where your chest piece and belt are going to sit. Belt is pretty easy -- it goes across your natural waist (ie over your belly button, not your hips like modern pants) Depending on the maker, the chest should end just under your pectorals. So the bund needs to fit in that gap. You can probably estimate it pretty well even if your armor is not completely strapped up. The codpiece isn't really dependent on the armor, as it sits under everything and should end right at your groin. -
Black Series Helmet - NOT APPROVABLE
BikerScout007 replied to Donovan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
All the major helmet makers back in the day had the return edge around the visor. Even before RS and EFX. Just going through the first couple of posts in this thread, which dates back to 2013, you can see it in all of the major helmet makers at the time, including the Don Post. The Black Series one filled that area in for the electronics and that's what disqualifies it. -

I just checked your profile -- that's how much image space you have left. Every rank and file member gets 1MB worth of photos to post. I host my photos on my Dropbox account. Other folks use Imgur. And there's also posting through Tapatalk, You got options! -

Requesting full access - was just approved yesterday!!
BikerScout007 replied to Tnel's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Hey bud, that's awesome. This is the wrong place to ask for access. Also - need info. Your TB ID and the link to your 501st profile. Please see this post: Congrats! -
Yes hit me up once you have them. And make sure you sand that thing down really well! I don't want to see any print lines on it!

Well now that I am looking it, it's different in other respects from the film EC-17. It's really a redesign. If you're willing to put in the work to make that blaster, then definitely go for it. But it's going to be some work On the other hand, we could probably just add the standard EC-17 to this CRL. I can talk with command about it and see how everyone feels.
