  1. Not familiar with Ben's files. I only know Sean Fields and Mr Paul's -- both of which are acceptable. I'd have to evaluate them With the increasing number of folks out there 3d printing and designing files it's difficult to keep on top of them all.
  2. As long as they cant be seen once you are suited up, put them where it works best Sent from my LM-G820 using Tapatalk
  3. I would just pull the zipper down to just under your chest armor. There are plenty of screen shots from the film to justify that.
  4. Hi Logan Overall nice job, I don't see much that will hold you up from basic approval, other than the few things you mentioned already (minus the weathering, you don't need that to be approved). Question. Is that a zipper for your flight suit I see? You should probably find a way to conceal it.
  5. The sleeve looks like it's higher in the back than the front? Is that because of the elastic pulling it up in the back?
  6. We have a list of vendors here:
  7. which one are you? Trying to figure out who is who
  8. Of course, family always comes first. Give it a watch when you get a chance. I think between that and the CRL video, a lot of your questions may be answered! And anything else, we gotcha covered.
  9. For the answers to all these questions... watch the video, watch the video, watch the video. As for riveting the clips on -- that's probably the best way to do it, but like with all parts of the costume that are not visible from the outside, we do not specify. We only care how it looks from the outside. CRLs are not build instructions, they are visual and textual guides to how the costume should look.
  10. TD along with everything else:
  11. Moved! 5525 was named Sean and was from Dewback Ridge Garrison. I just looked that up, I didn't know him personally.
  12. Here's a few things I would do: Take that cummerbund, turn it sideways, and shove it straight in the trash. It's that old style "diaper" construction back when we didn't know how the soft goods were done. The greeblies on the TD need to be reversed -- badge on the long side, dot on the short Those look like old SIth Armory gloves. Fine for basic, too flared for Lancer Flight suit looks fine if it fits you, but you can remove the mandarin collar and go with the open collar -- so you would need a dickie or neck gaiter to wear underneath. Upper stitching on the boots would make them unqualified for Lancer I would get rid of all the elastic straps and snaps on the arm pieces and do them the right way. Those earhole pics look better - no issue there. But the "bolts" still need to be replaced with something flat or concave. Like Chopper said -- replace the belt with a new one. SC sells parts a la carte. Watch these videos and get up to speed on this stuff:
  13. I am still waiting on the official photos from the Film Commission
  14. That's awesome!
  15. I appreciate your predicament, but we do things by what the film tells us. The Swamp Trooper and Shadow Scout have some... I'll just say dubious source material, and certainly not anything that would affect how we write the ROTJ Scout CRL. Already the major propmakers have removed the mandarin collar and have switched to the open. So it's going to be harder and harder to do one unless the costumer buys coveralls and makes the change themselves. But keep in mind, in the 501st you are grandfathered in once you are approved. So anyone with a mandarin collar is under no obligation to change it to open, unless they decide to go for Level 2. Or if they retire and then decide to come back. We aren't removing it as an option anytime soon, so you're fine.
  16. Of course! We are here to help. Just be aware that a complete kit that passed basic 15 years ago may not pass basic today. So the sooner you can show us what ya go, the sooner we can tell you whats going to need work!
  17. Ah the good ol' Kropserkel! Very popular about 10 years ago, you don't see them much any more. That was my first Scout bucket as well Besides the stuff Chopper mentioned, the bolts need to be replaced, level 2 or not. Kropserkel used to ship furniture pads to cover up the rivet they use to hold the visor to the main helmet. They are convex and therefore, neither "flat or have concave centers" as the Level 1 CRL asks. I'm also a little concerned that the earholes have been cut too large. It might look okay once you have it on, but the right side especially looks huge. I'd have to get a better view from the front to tell. As for the rest of your kit -- is it also a Kropserkel I wonder? Because if so, there's definitely going to be some issues due to changing standards over the years.
  18. One -- there are way more scouts in the Death Star Parade. Twenty four I beileve. That's more than you ever see on Endor. Two -- the scouts in the Death Star Parade are -- on parade! That means they are looking their absolute best for inspection. Hence... the idealized version of the outfit Three -- On Endor the scouts are running around and doing stunts -- thus the costume pieces are slipping up and down their arms. Happens all the time on troops. No big deal Four -- There is nothing in the CRL either allowing or disallowing you to overlap your bicep and forearm pieces. I do it all the time on troops. Comes to personal preference. Five -- We are not putting in an allowance for every possible configuration of the armors in our CRLs. They would become unreadable walls of text. If someone in your Garrison is giving you problems about how you wear your armor, point them to me. That's about all there is to say on the topic.
  19. THANK YOU PATHFINDERS!!! Being with you all in one of the shooting locations for "Return of the Jedi" was a beyond awesome experience! When we first started planning this back in January I thought we might have at most a dozen troopers, but between the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion, 23 troopers made the photo shoot! And I'm proud to say that 15 of those were scouts! I am still waiting on the official group photos from the Film Commission (who kindly brought some ace photographers along), but this cellphone group photo actually came out pretty sweet! See you back on Endor for the 50th!
  20. I have scouted the shooting location at Cheatham Grove! See you at Swimmers Delight at 8am
  21. Okay folks! I am leaving for Endor on the Imperial Shuttle (aka the van I rented) very early tomorrow morning! I sent out my contact info in the last email blast to the interest list group. If you didn't get that email, NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL ME. I will be driving all day tomorrow.
  22. Nope! Sometimes the Armor Team needs to clean up WIP Threads when there is contradictory info flying back and forth, which can be more confusing than illuminating. We eased up on the "no one should be posting in WIP threads except staff" rule, but occasionally the hammer must be dropped.
  23. Well done, Trooper! Hope to see you this weekend.
  24. Im pretty sure that's what I got as well.
