  1. They deliver damn quick too. Got mine 3 days after ordering
  2. I have the 1 1/2 going straight across from the bottom of the bell. Probably going to change it to look more like the screen scout!
  3. One of the next things I want to tackle is getting a more screen-accurate shoulder bell. My current SC one is a little too long and not cut quite right. Right now I'm using 1 1/2 inch (closest American size to 35mm) elastic around the bottom of the bell to secure it to my arm, but looking at the Costumes book (or as it is called in my home, the Bible), that doesn't seem quite right. This took a lot of squinting and playing with the contrast, but it appears the elastic is thinner, maybe only an inch, and comes down at an angle from the center of the bell to wrap around the arm. The MOM exhibit also had similar strapping. Anyway, food for thought!
  4. It's a little easier to tell with the armor on, but I can now wear my belt at a more natural height, since I didn't have to push it down low to mask how short the codpiece is. I will probably take an inch or two off the bottom of the cod so it doesn't wrap under too much
  5. One thing is for sure, Lou -- it is way easier on the ol' scout jewels! ahem.....
  6. thanks for the input guys! It's a work in progress but I'm happy so far
  7. As it is now, the belt come covers the bottom of the bund. Obviously I'm working with a bund that is too long because it was designed with the old style codpiece in mind. I'll probably replace it at some point but for now it looks good once the gear is all on. Way better than it did before. And at least now I can wear the belt above my hips. The other thing I wanted was for the codpiece to fit looser. If you look at the film, the cods were not really contoured to the trooper's body. These four dudes are just standing around and none of their codpieces are all that tight
  8. Inspired by the Costumes book as well as Gino's life sized-scout, I lopped the codpiece off Marcel's cummerbund and had my seamstress (aka Mom) create a separate piece that would go under the bund and attach to the flight suit.
  9. And that's why I love this group. We are always striving to be the best
  10. Scouts helping scouts! That's the Pathfinder way....
  11. Yeah a fellow trooper in SCG added that detail too. Probably do that too at some point
  12. Red kap all day, bro...... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KJSKAO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. Sweet! Ordering some now....
  14. This poor guy's pouches are definitely attached to his bund. But he let Princess Leia knock him out with a stick so I wouldn't take him too seriously....
  15. Not yet buddy! Been doing a lot of trooping lately so havent had much weekend time to make repairs. Will get back on it soon
  16. Yeah that top piece might be too thick. I'm thinking about doing the same.
  17. I think once you change out the decals, snout and bolt covers, the KS lid is perfectly fine. And being ABS it is very light.
  18. Christian you are a machine! My only question is about the pouches. In the "Costumes" pic (and on Gino's scout), they seem to be more square shaped than rectangular. Does anybody else think this?
  19. No you wouldnt see any undersuit because the codpiece passes under the cummerbund on the actual scout. The bund is supposed to end at the belt or just a bit below it. Also, I dont think there's any need to talk about modifying the CRL at this time until we see some good mock-ups of these changes and we're able to replicate the look in a screen-accurate manner.
  20. Did you get it from cucblack? Yeah it takes awhile. Patience, padawan. It will come.
  21. Great.... ANOTHER layer! hahahaha. These guys must have been cold running around on Endor.
  22. Oh no, I just forgot to mention it. Yeah as it is now, I have to wear my belt low, on my hips, and it's always riding up. With a correct bund/cod configuration this won't be a problem anymore. We take our cods very seriously around here! Yeah I was thinking about this. So either Lancer standards need to change (as it is, there's only a hair's width between basic and Lancer), or maybe we need a third level. I'm thinking the same thing. And that is the cod that you are seeing. It's not attached to the bund the way we have been making them. It's a separate piece that connects to the flak vest, as Gino has already explained to us in another thread. The flak vests aren't half-shirts like the way we've been making them, they are full sized. But in the interest of keeping layers down to a minimum, I was thinking of crafting a new codpiece and velcroing it to my bund right at the bottom of it. That way I can achieve that look of it going under without having a longer flak vest.
  23. Oh I also think the pouches are a lot smaller than we've been making them. Those in that picture don't look much bigger than 4x4
  24. Well here's some observations I've made about the bund and the cod, to the extent they help:
