SC armor aka Box o Bikerscout
BikerScout007 replied to blholmes's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Cant recommend SC enough. Great package, and quick turnaround. I wish the chest armor was a bit more accurate, but other than that its a wondrous thing -
Hey Gang...So how to you tote you costume?
BikerScout007 replied to uscstaylor's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I have this exact bin right here: http://www.target.co...ic+storage+bins It's cheap and I like the colors, thought they were very imperial. A lot of guys have the big ones with the wheels, yada yada ... the scout costume is light, and those things are a pain to get through tight spaces, stairs and elevators. I just lift my bin over my head and zip around everyone before they've even figured out how they're going to negotiate the next turn down the hall! -
Buy this instead. It's way cheaper. And the movie scouts wore twill undersuits http://www.amazon.co...d+kap+coveralls Obviously, you'll want the black one

Pros and Cons of being a Biker Scout
BikerScout007 replied to Bacheek2007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
That's true. I've seen a few of the scouts out here drop the vest in the summertime just to remove one layer. -
They're like Ewoks -- we get overrun sometimes!

Pros and Cons of being a Biker Scout

You can see You can sit You can play Twister -
Since the strap isnt canon, a lot of troopers use rare earth magnets instead. Does a good job of holding the blaster in place -- but as Chunk mentioned, it's not going to stop a kid from trying to steal the blaster. And they DO try. Often. I rarely ever troop with my blaster or my TD. Tired of the little bastards trying to swipe them.

looking for a vest and/or pattern
BikerScout007 replied to Lunchbox76755's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
There's a pattern in this thread: http://forum.bikersc...22&fromsearch=1 I bought my vest from Christian, took about a month to get here to the US. I understand he may be having problems shipping lately though http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10809&st=0 -

Yes, Lou! Separated cod Lancers unite! -
Congrats!

Wouldn't take a whole lot to push that outfit toward Lancer either. It already seems like a good fit, but just needs a few things here and there.

Okay, here's some updated photos showing things that have been changed. Everything else is same as above. I got new gloves from Wampa Wear. Not nearly as baggy as my SIth Armory gloves: I shortened the vest sleeves, using the scout that cornered Leia in ROTJ as a model. I also shortened the shoulder bells as the movie scout bells are shorter than the ones SC provides Separated bund/codpiece. This is Marcel's bund with a separate cod attached with 2 inch elastic -
It makes a big difference in my humble opinion, boss! The one piece cod/bund doesn't move the same way as the film scouts, and thus we get crumpled cod, camel toe, g-strings, diapers, thongs, and other weird behaviors. I am one of the folks that have separated them and I think it's a lot better. Yes the bund should be shorter. The codpiece on the original scouts actually attached to the vest, under the bund. Mine is velcroed to my undersuit. It's a lot more comfortable too! Since there's not as much yanking and pulling the old scout jewels don't get as roughed up!
-
Not sure what size you wear, but I found these scout gloves and I preferred them to SA: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Biker-Scout-Gloves/dp/B00GVLN2P2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423949928&sr=8-2&keywords=scout+gloves+wampa+wear

Congrats! Hope to be right behind you -
If you're not going Lancer, then get faux suede.
-
You dont have to weather your scout, but if you do, the weathering just has to not go overboard. I didn't weather my scout, but I've picked up enough dirt, grime, dings and scratches just from trooping that I havent really needed to!

Their pulls are very rough. But they clean up pretty nice.

My attempt at a more accurate codpiece

KS. It's okay though. I only need my glasses for reading. -
