Not the tank, it's the device on the back of the belt that we refer to as the Thermal Detonator. And TD's come in all shapes and sizes. I always imagined ours as some sort of potato masher type grenade similar to what the Germans used.

Welcome to bs.n, Chris!

Go half inch on the shoulder bell straps. Think of the zip tie as extra credit for now!

TB-21398 Requesting Lancer Status (APPROVED)
BikerScout007 replied to kayelbe's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Hey buddy! Everything looks really great, there's just one snag we're hitting and that's your bolt covers on your lid. They're not what we're looking for in terms of being a good screen accurate replica. So we've got some options for you: 1) Take your current bolts, sand down the rounded top and then repaint it gray. 2) Use these replicas of the screen used ones: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10270 3) Or try using elevator bolts and painting them, such as these: http://www.lowes.com/pd_137972-37672-881003_1z0yk5s__?productId=3722660&pl=1 Let us know if you have any questions! -
Yes. Closer looks at photos have determined that 1/2 inch is the size used.
-
Welcome to bs.n! You would be fine with any of those armor makers for basic clearance. For accuracy I'd stick with SC and MC. But please, look around the forums, read as much as you can and ask any question you'd like!

Good to know!
-
My original build was KS lid, SC armor. There is nothing wrong with mixing and matching!
-
I can't do it with my RS props lid, or my KS before that. But it could be because of my big head! It's not much of a problem on a troop because I am farsighted, but it's impossible for me to read anything without them.
-
Cool, I was just about to point you there. SC is one of the smaller helmets and I think it really only looks good on scouts of smaller stature.

Tank and back fitting with a gap (KS)
BikerScout007 replied to TheBeardPrevails's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Does it look anything like this? Because if so, you are okay: -
Ah okay. I remember hearing awhile back that the faceplate was ABS and the rest of the lid fiberglass or something like that. But the bottom line for now is...there are NO eFX scout lids. Fiberglass, ABS or otherwise.
-
I wish I could remember. Once I tried it on and realized the fiberglass wouldnt give enough to get around my big head, I kinda gave up on it. hahahaha
-
The standard piece you get from Tandy was more than enough for the thighs and butt patch with a lot left over
-
No dropping the balaclava. And like I said, you may wear a neck seal as long as it is under the collar.
-
Well eFX also has an issue where their helmets are hybrid fiberglass and ABS. Maybe they need to paint one portion of it one way the other portion another way
-
Hahahahahahaha
-
Not silly at all! The neck seal has been confusing for a lot of folks, especially since the scout in the Costumes book was dressed up wrong and had the neck seal placed OVER the collar.
-
The scouts in the movie wore neck seals, but UNDER the mandarin collar. I know, that sounds ridiculous but that's how it was done. We will not ding you for wearing a neck seal as long as you do it like that. But then you will probably question the point of wearing it. Don't worry, we do too
-
That looks great! Also, you can replace your elastic strap with 1/2 inch instead.

Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Advance Recon Teams
Added you, buddy! Let me know when you get the TAG ART together! -
Funny what you find when you know what to look for. You can see the ziptie connecting the left bell to the left shoulder bridge. It's dark, but it's there:
-
I would glue the end of the zip tie to the piece of velcro that you would stick to the underside of the shoulder bridge. If that makes sense
-
It looks very much like it was built in two separate pieces and then bondoed together doesn't it?
