TB-91977 Requesting Lancer Status (APPROVED)
BikerScout007 replied to Rockhop7's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Hey Sumiko! Here is your feedback: 1) Your vest sleeves are too long, so the rest of your arm armor sits slightly too low. You want the sleeve to barely poke out from under the bell so that your bicep armor can actually be on your bicep and not your elbow! Then turn the armor more forward before taking pics again 2) Your cummerbund is hanging below the belt in the back. In the film, sometimes the bund came out above the belt but never below it. It may be too long 3) Your butt patch is a little off-center; maybe it wasn't straight for the pics? 4) Drop boxes look a bit uneven and ride a little far back -- they need to sit more forward. -

Studio Creations - Okay for taller scouts?
BikerScout007 replied to Tarrif's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The truth is, the scout is mostly a soft costume. What armor we do have is extremely adjustable to most troopers' builds because it is pretty loose the way it sits on us. You can always make this strap or that strap longer. You should be good in a Studio Creations. Our detachment leader is around your height and he rocks the SC -

Okay two things: 1) this is Cucblack's etsy shop. He's been suspended from selling here on bs.n because his shipping is very, very spotty. I will say this though, he makes quality stuff. 2) Nothing is guaranteed Lancer. It all depends on how it looks on YOU. Like I said, his stuff is quality but you may still need to adjust it to look up to Lancer spec. -

BikerScout007's RS Props Helmet
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I am absolutely using it as a trooping helmet! I'm not a collector so if things don't have a practical use for me, they are gone... Which reminds me, time to sell the KS bucket! -
Yes you are correct, that is why there are straps on the thighs. Thigh armor obviously didn't make it to the screen but the straps were already on the racing suits. And the straps weren't elastic...
-
Looking good, scout!
-
Black felt will work too. You got options, bro
-
Same buddy, sometimes you gotta switch over to the table and taking off the bucket and popping on the cap seems the best way to maintain some of the illusion

Oh damn, Cap'n Phasma on deck y'all!

BikerScout007's RS Props Helmet
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Yeah I noted that above. I will run some felt or gaffers tape in there. I don't want to spray paint it black like I did with my KS Planning on it brother! Me too.... if someone wants to send me one It's a shame, I expected more given the time and expense. I could have done just as bad a job, and I did with my KS! hahaha. But would I trade this lid for something else? No way.... I believe the molds were created by 3D scanning an original lid. I've heard different versions depending on who you ask And dude, my biggest fear was that this lid would be too small for me. The movie scouts were not tall folk for the most part. I've met Dickey Beer and I stand a good 4 or 5 inches over him. But not only was this lid big enough, but it seemed better proportioned for me than my KS lid -
BikerScout007's RS Props Helmet
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'm 6'0. The one thing I was worried about was it being too small, but it actually turns out to be a bit larger than the KS. Yeah, those little detail things were pretty annoying, and the hard hat liner took a bit of getting used to but I think I have it set in a way that works. I'll have to try it out at the next troop and see if it bugs me. If it does, I'll take it out and go back to using the bicycle helmet pads I put into my KS. -

And versus the KS. KS on the left, RS on the right: -
After only 13 months..... finally got it I'm satisfied with it. It's solidly constructed, yet lightweight, not much heavier than my KS. It's pedigree alone makes it worth it. Couple of complaints. I put pictures below. The black paint around the snout is pretty sloppy -- something I could have done myself! One of the decals in the back is peeling off. I can cut off the dangling part though, it'll be screen accurate! The hard hat liner was a real pain to get used to. I have a pretty big dome, so after a lot of adjusting (surprisingly easy with a spinner to widen the band) I was able to get it on okay. I have a 7 3/4 head, so YES! your big dome will fit in this. The lens tint is DARK. Much darker than my KS. There's some pretty sloppy gluing of the lens. See below. The inside is not painted black and there's not felt or anything inside to give that effect, so I will have to adjust that. The ABS chincup is fine, but I like my fiberglass one that I put in my KS better. Anyway, take a look for yourselves!

Is that May 2016?
