Not the tank, it's the device on the back of the belt that we refer to as the Thermal Detonator. And TD's come in all shapes and sizes. I always imagined ours as some sort of potato masher type grenade similar to what the Germans used.

They're not what we're looking for in terms of being a good screen accurate replica. Yes. Closer looks at photos have determined that 1/2 inch is the size used.

Welcome to bs.n! You would be fine with any of those armor makers for basic clearance. For accuracy I'd stick with SC and MC. But please, look around the forums, read as much as you can and ask any question you'd like!
