Shooting for Lancer, a few questions
BikerScout007 replied to Carpeteria's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Yes, it's 1.5 for the straps. Did you try a hot knife on the boots? -
Which helmet would be best for my build?
BikerScout007 replied to MotorCityFool's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Altmann's would be fine for you. As would KS or SC -
You shouldn't need to do this. The buckles don't need to be functional. In the film, the strap passed behind the buckle so it looked like it was functional when it actually wasn't. The webbing was just one long loop that was attached to the belt in the back.

Hope this helps give you some ideas about the bund and pouches:

The KS bells are bigger, but they have an odd shape, I would not recommend them. The SC bells are a bit too long, but I think the issue you are having is that they are cupped. What I did was heat them up and then flatten them a bit. That helped a lot.

Yes to all that and remember.... this is fantasy space opera, not the real military!

Do you have a front-facing photo with your bucket on? And if not, can you take one and then make sure to turn your bicep armor forward? thanks! -

LW and RS side by side comparsion
BikerScout007 replied to Darth Chridan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Interesting, because I was also impressed with how light the RS was, but I found it to be quite sturdy, and so did the folks that I showed it to. -

They're both great lids and I'd love to get my hands on an LW -
Your pouch placement is good, but the belt is going to sit directly beneath them, which means your bund is going to stick out about 4 inches below the belt. The bund should only be just about as long as the pouches. Check out my dude here: You can see the pouches meet the bottom of the bund, right about at the belt line (obviously the bund has come up a tad because the guy has his hands up). The important thing is to wear the belt on your WAIST -- which means across your belly button. It's tough to get the bund sizing just right when you dont have the armor and belt to work off of, I know.

LW and RS side by side comparsion
BikerScout007 replied to Darth Chridan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
That was my thought as well. I know it's pricey but I am fine trooping in my RS Props. It fits really well, looks great and yes, it is expensive, but considering an assembled and painted MLC costs close to $600 and is nowhere near as accurate as the RS, which is only a little bit more and has the added bonus of direct lineage. -

Thanks for taking the time to do this! This is great! -
I'm really glad to hear that!

Gotcha. I made mine from duckcloth and put the foam in it as well. Looking good!

Looks good! Did you put the crescent in it yet or can I just not see it? You probably don't want it going to far between your legs either

I have a DVH blaster and it's great. Highly recommended! -
I added a MLC chin cup to my KS bucket. Definitely helped to stabilize the thing on my head!

I'm trying not to tear up..... It is my pleasure to welcome Daniel Craig (Nexous) TB-91728 to the rank of Lancer! We put Daniel through the ringer and he delivered without complaint. Three cheers Daniel, shoot me a photo so I can add it to the Lancer page. And for the rest of you... what are you doing to become a Lancer today?

Congrats buddy, I'll handle your Lancer wall picture!

Or.... you could avoid the hassle and just get WW gloves
