All good dude. We did some major CRL clean up in the last year and sometimes a few things slip through the cracks. We are definitely not trying to make this HARDER for anyone hahaha
-
Everything looks good on the 501st.com CRL other than the knee strapping: "The upper strap is 15mm (5/8") wide and is riveted to the top sides of the knee armor. The lower strap is 20mm (3/4") wide and passes through the lower sides of the knee armor." I always thought we said lower strap as 1 inch, but if it's 3/4s it's 3/4s. The real problem is the 5/8 -- that should definitely be 1/2 inch. I think that's the only one that's off. All the other 1 3/8s etc. seemed to have already been cleaned up!
-
Is this true? Do we ever see a tank top in the film where the strap can't be seen? As far as I knew, the way the screen costumes were constructed with the back piece completely flat, all of the tanks were strapped on that way.
-
There are some bad metric to imperial translations in the CRL. I always just round to the nearest half inch. the difference between 1 3/8 and and 1.5 is 1/8th of an inch. Imperceptible to the human eye.
-
Yeah this is something I have thought about doing as well. Maybe a list of requirements for highest screen accuracy (armor, techniques, etc.) Nothing that is official but just for fun.
-
Level 3 is something I have been for in the past and the other guys had to talk me down from. Pathfinder tradition is that we only have 2 levels. And like Tim said, some of those level 3 requirements, particularly the boots, would be killer. Personally, I would like to see higher Lancer requirements than a Level 3, but that's a whole other can of worms!
-
This topic has come up quite a few times in the past and since Legion tradition has always been "once you're in, you're in" it just wouldn't seem right to make it a requirement. But there is nothing stopping you from continuing to improve. Constantin, Shaun, myself and a few others have gone beyond Lancer to as Screen Accurate as we can get. We'd be happy for you to join us!

A question about cable ties for shoulder bells...
BikerScout007 replied to BeardedTrooper's topic in Getting Started
Also it doesn't really matter what length of ziptie you're going to use. I leave enough for about 1.5 inches to span the distance between the edge of the bell and the shoulder bridge and then cut off the rest -
I used these as a guide https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5bU7TNBGsXOaXU5QmtlZG96b1U https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5bU7TNBGsXOekVkamk2VG5temc Hope that helps!

A question about cable ties for shoulder bells...
BikerScout007 replied to BeardedTrooper's topic in Getting Started
I did glue it to the base at one point but the easiest thing to do is just snip off the end of another ziptie and use it to lock on to the end Oh and I just used Medium length zipties -
current value of a Lonewolf helmet?
BikerScout007 replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
If this were 4 years ago I might have tried to take it off your hands, but now with the RS Props kits being direct lineage, the LW doesn't have the same cachet it used to. -
Yo neighbor, I'm gonna be watching this thread with great interest!

You forgot to ask the most important thing. Can you play Twister while suited up? Why yes you can

Hip Armour information Updated 22/03/17

Thanks for sharing, I'm going to need this! -
Personally, I think it's a better look when the pouches are attached to the bund instead of the armor. They tend to dangle at weird angles when attached to the armor. I understand that people prefer attaching to the armor because that supports them better and you can store heavy things in them. But I think they look better after moving them to the bund: To keep my bund from sliding down, I put some velcro on the back of my bund to attach it to the vest.

If this was Facebook I'd be looking for a "facepalm" gif right about now....

Pandatrooper's SC Biker Scout build
BikerScout007 replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
No you can't rivet the bottom elastic. Only the top. And that's not just for Lancer, that's for Basic as well -
One of my favorite screen shots. So much good info in one pic

Ah. The pouch flaps (well I call them attachment tabs, the flaps are the things covering the pouch opening) should be on the front of the bund. Like so:

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Well there's also the issue that the run hasn't started yet. I have one of the kits Strider made himself and it's a great set and the most accurate currently available. But I understand your concerns and there are plenty of great options in the States. Like I said, SC is a great kit -
The pouches should hang about two inches from the top of the bund, and the bund looks a bit long to me. I would put some buckram inside of the codpiece to keep it form crumpling. This is something that never happens in the film. Vest sleeves look a good length. And yeah, stirrups!

Help with finding the right seller...
BikerScout007 replied to Wannabe Scout Trooper's topic in Getting Started
Yeah that's probably the most popular kit. Super fast on the delivery, very easy assembly. Not as high on accuracy but approvable for Lancer -
Congrats Chopper!

I don't own a set of MC but this is what I have seen on Scouts I know that do have it. No idea if they have changed things up in the past year or not. The accuracy of the MC is very high but the biggest problem with them isn't the yellowing, it's the extremely long wait times to get anything. Up to 18 months.
