  1. Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that the CRL is in the hands of the LMO team and they have been giving us notes. We are getting closer and closer to welcoming the Patrol Trooper to the Pathfinders, so stay tuned!
  2. I've been itching to try mounting the speaker inside my chest armor and using a bluetooth microphone to connect to it. Just haven't gotten around to it! I'm sure some of the fine folks on this forum have tried it though. Maybe one of them will chime in.
  3. Sound can enhance the experience for sure. The people sure seem to get a kick out of it. I was doing the old "Aker in the pouch" set up for awhile, but I wasn't liking the way it was weighing my pouch down so I stopped doing it. Screen accuracy is more important for me but everyone gets different things out of costuming. I'd just be careful that any "enhancements" you add don't run afoul of your local Garrison's rules on trooping. In So Cal we are expected to be screen accurate on troops, so walking around with a severed Ewok head or the like would not be allowed. Check with yours and find out!
  4. Welcome! Looks like you are off to a great start. Looking forward to you joining the ranks of the Empire's coolest
  5. Ear holes look pretty good! You could go maybe a little wider on them. Here is the RS Props Scout helmet for an example
  6. Ha and here I said the butt flap looked a little too short! That Scout's butt flap is definitely on the shorter end in the screen shot above, and we generally prefer them to come down to the bottom of your butt cheek!
  7. The list of vendors can be found here:
  8. Hey Pathfinders! Let's all give a big hand to our PR Officer, Daniel "Nexous" Craig for launching a new home page for the Detachment. When the term started, I gave Daniel the big task of getting control of our social media back, as Jim was the only admin for our page and we were unable to get in through his account. After months of following every known protocol and going back and forth with Facebook support, we were unable to get them to turn over access of the page to us. Daniel has remedied this by launching a new page, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/Official501stPathfinders/ Going forward, all our social media outreach will be done through this page. The old page will not be updated, nor will we be able to respond to messages sent to that page for much longer. So please update your bookmarks! A couple more notes. We are in the final phases of the migration, which we hope to complete by the end of the month. At that point, the new URL for the Detachment will be "www.501stpathfinders.com". The splash page is already set up over there and will currently bring you to bikerscout.net. But not for much longer! Tapatalk support will be restored AFTER we migrate. The Tapatalk account was also something only Jim had access to, so we were not able to update it for bikerscout.net once we upgraded the forum to version 4.3.4. And although I really prefer the mobile version of the updated forum to Tapatalk, I know many of you like to have all your forums in one place. We aim to get that set back up again as soon as possible! So once again, a round of applause for Daniel, Drew Hannah, Steve Leahy, and Josh Rhoads, for helping us get through these thick trees and back to the bunker safely.
  9. That's what we like to hear!
  10. Between 1 and 2 inches, closer to 1 if you can do it. How much webbing you need will depend on your size of course. For my belt boxes, I used 4 feet of webbing
  11. The riding patches look very good! My only concern is maybe the butt flap is too short, but it's hard to tell without everything on.
  12. Beautiful work @sibbel29
  13. It was moved so it could remain private. Although it's all there on the first post for all the world to see!
  14. For the thigh straps we use 2 inch elastic. You can use whatever you'd like, as long as it can't be seen from the outside! I think for most of us the closure finishes on the right side. Here's a link that I think might answer some questions for you
  15. Go with black. The grey comes from weathering and age
  16. FISD is the Stormtrooper Detachment. "EIB" and "Centurion" only apply with them. With the Pathfinders it is Lancer (Scout) or Vanguard (Shoretrooper)
  17. That's a wonderful story, James. Proud to have you in the Vanguard!
  18. Level 2 here is called Lancer for Scouts, Vanguard for Shoretroopers Centurion is a term used on FISD. That's about it!
  19. Okay, merged some of Denis' language into the CRL and updated on the Wiki and in the main post!
  20. My phone wasnt really capturing how dirty this thing actually is
  21. More work over the weekend
  22. I haven't updated the Wiki because I thought the LMO team was already evaluating what was there. I can go ahead and put in some of the stuff that Denis pointed out as it pertains to level 1. We can work on Level 2 at a later date. I'm really not in a hurry to get that rolled out. As I said above, Shoretrooper level 2 didn't come until a year later, and we are currently working on a Kashyyyk Level 2 even though we've had that costume for 10 years or so.... there's no rush for a Level 2 on the Patrol Trooper. I'd rather get folks approved first, see what kind of turnout we get, and then focus on Level 2 once we get some dedicated Armorers for the costume on Staff, as we do for the others. Plus we need to come up with a cool name for Level 2. Right now, I've got "Traffic Division". But I'm open to ideas. I've tried to keep this CRL simple in the spirit of the Scout Trooper CRL. I'm trying to avoid overly complicating it or putting in details that would be better suited to an armor maker as opposed to an armor purchaser. I'm a big believer in "make it look like the picture."
  23. Please join me in congratulating ST-19758, James "FarEast" Machin on obtaining the rank of Vanguard! James, please send the most awesome picture of you in your gear to Shortstack so he can prepare it for the eventual Level II Wall once we get it set up Well done!
  24. Can't wait to see it all together and painted!
