  1. Most of us just buy Red Kap coveralls. https://www.amazon.com/Red-Kap-Action-Coverall-Spruce/dp/B007EZ1I9G/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1535476816&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=Red%2BKap%2Bcoveralls&th=1&psc=1
  2. Welcome to the Pathfinders Detachment!
  3. 100%. Make sure you take those out before you print. And buy some decals instead.
  4. Tapatalk access for the new site is now working. You will need to set up access to 501stpathfinders.com on Tapatalk and remember to unfollow the old site!
  5. Thanks guys, fixed! We adjusted the hyperlink on the graphic but not on "Enter Site" Duh!
  6. Hey Pathfinders and soon-to-be-Pathfinders! We have finally done it! The forum has been completely migrated to our new host and the domain name is now 501stpathfinders.com. I cannot thank @Drewid enough for the many, many hours he put into this. It was a gigantic tangled knot and somehow he managed to untangle it. Now things are not going to be perfect and there will be bugs here and there. Most obviously, any link referring to "bikerscout.net" will no longer work. At some point Drew is going to replace all that text with "501stpathfinders.com", but for now please bear with us as we fix all that needs fixing. Please contact command staff or our webmaster, @Shortstack if you spot anything glaring. Most importantly, we have full control over the forum and the domain now, so expect more good things in the future!
  7. Did you try bathroom caulk?

  9. Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that the CRL is in the hands of the LMO team and they have been giving us notes. We are getting closer and closer to welcoming the Patrol Trooper to the Pathfinders, so stay tuned!
  10. I've been itching to try mounting the speaker inside my chest armor and using a bluetooth microphone to connect to it. Just haven't gotten around to it! I'm sure some of the fine folks on this forum have tried it though. Maybe one of them will chime in.
  11. Sound can enhance the experience for sure. The people sure seem to get a kick out of it. I was doing the old "Aker in the pouch" set up for awhile, but I wasn't liking the way it was weighing my pouch down so I stopped doing it. Screen accuracy is more important for me but everyone gets different things out of costuming. I'd just be careful that any "enhancements" you add don't run afoul of your local Garrison's rules on trooping. In So Cal we are expected to be screen accurate on troops, so walking around with a severed Ewok head or the like would not be allowed. Check with yours and find out!
  12. Welcome! Looks like you are off to a great start. Looking forward to you joining the ranks of the Empire's coolest
  13. Ear holes look pretty good! You could go maybe a little wider on them. Here is the RS Props Scout helmet for an example
  14. Ha and here I said the butt flap looked a little too short! That Scout's butt flap is definitely on the shorter end in the screen shot above, and we generally prefer them to come down to the bottom of your butt cheek!
  15. The list of vendors can be found here:
  16. Hey Pathfinders! Let's all give a big hand to our PR Officer, Daniel "Nexous" Craig for launching a new home page for the Detachment. When the term started, I gave Daniel the big task of getting control of our social media back, as Jim was the only admin for our page and we were unable to get in through his account. After months of following every known protocol and going back and forth with Facebook support, we were unable to get them to turn over access of the page to us. Daniel has remedied this by launching a new page, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/Official501stPathfinders/ Going forward, all our social media outreach will be done through this page. The old page will not be updated, nor will we be able to respond to messages sent to that page for much longer. So please update your bookmarks! A couple more notes. We are in the final phases of the migration, which we hope to complete by the end of the month. At that point, the new URL for the Detachment will be "www.501stpathfinders.com". The splash page is already set up over there and will currently bring you to bikerscout.net. But not for much longer! Tapatalk support will be restored AFTER we migrate. The Tapatalk account was also something only Jim had access to, so we were not able to update it for bikerscout.net once we upgraded the forum to version 4.3.4. And although I really prefer the mobile version of the updated forum to Tapatalk, I know many of you like to have all your forums in one place. We aim to get that set back up again as soon as possible! So once again, a round of applause for Daniel, Drew Hannah, Steve Leahy, and Josh Rhoads, for helping us get through these thick trees and back to the bunker safely.
  17. That's what we like to hear!
  18. Between 1 and 2 inches, closer to 1 if you can do it. How much webbing you need will depend on your size of course. For my belt boxes, I used 4 feet of webbing
  19. The riding patches look very good! My only concern is maybe the butt flap is too short, but it's hard to tell without everything on.
  20. Beautiful work @sibbel29
  21. It was moved so it could remain private. Although it's all there on the first post for all the world to see!
  22. For the thigh straps we use 2 inch elastic. You can use whatever you'd like, as long as it can't be seen from the outside! I think for most of us the closure finishes on the right side. Here's a link that I think might answer some questions for you
  23. Go with black. The grey comes from weathering and age
  24. FISD is the Stormtrooper Detachment. "EIB" and "Centurion" only apply with them. With the Pathfinders it is Lancer (Scout) or Vanguard (Shoretrooper)
  25. That's a wonderful story, James. Proud to have you in the Vanguard!
