Cumberbund rib measurements
BikerScout007 replied to theenglishdjentleman's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
They should be 1 inch wide. We're going to add that to the Level 2 CRL soon -

Chef is a great person to buy from as he was DL here before me. He knows the CRL in and out. -

5 ribs which consist of 6 stitched lines. I think this is where the confusion is coming from. And this is a BASIC requirement, not just Lancer -
No nothing official. You don't see them in Battlefront so I suppose "canon" would be no sling. But I understand there are trooping practicalities involved and I certainly would not stand in the way of them. Ultimately when it comes to trooping issues, your Garrison has the final say.

Making a cummerbund, pouches, and cod

Good job! The more you do it, the better you get! -
Hey Mike! Here's some quick answers for you 1. Yes absolutely. We have plenty of Shoretroopers with 3D printed kits. Here's a good example of one: 2. Shoretrooper armor can be shimmed as necessary to expand it for bigger folks, but I'd say you may want to skip KW Designs as that kit is fairly slim. 3. We have a list of vendors here: 4. Sean Fields is probably the most popular. Joel Carter and Nico Henderson are also popular makers of 3D files. 5. By all accounts, vacuum formed plastic does hold up better to the rigors of trooping but it is completely possible to build a sturdy suit from 3D prints. Several Shoretroopers are doing it already. 6. Absolutely, please check out the example I posted above. Many more 3D builds can be found here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/129-shoretrooper-wip/ Hope this helps get your started. Please check out our Shoretrooper Armory for more details: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/119-the-shoretrooper-armory/

That's a pretty solid list. Personally, there are better boot choices than Imperial Boots. Check out our Vendor forum -- there are some good boot and soft good makers in there that are superior to IB. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/156-vendor-sales/

Photos of the mandarin collar?
BikerScout007 replied to Whiskey's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Vendors say all kinds of silly things like "501st APPROVABLE!" and the such. They want to sell things. Here's two important things to note: 1. Nothing is approvable until it has been fitted to the wearer. 2. Always follow the CRL. That means mandarin collar. The good news is, they are easy to make. -

My 1st costume BIKER SCOUT 3D printed parts

You really don't need a fan for the TB helmet. It has good airflow due to the earholes and the channel in back that connects them. -

^^THIS. Also, it helps to have a fabric stabilizer inside of the codpiece along with the batting. I believe buckram was what was used in the film, but I just bought any old fabric stabilizer when I made my codpiece and it worked great. But as Dart says, you don't want it pulling tight against you. The ones in the film were quite loose.

Sole color comparison question
BikerScout007 replied to Tjeccles's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
The word "tan" itself has been somewhat controversial. I think we all assume it means the standard colored sole you find on hiking boots. Which is probably closer to "wheat" than actual tan. But somehow "tan" became the color settled on. This terminology has been in the CRL for years before I was even a member of the Detachment and has kind of taken on a life of its own. The real issue I see with basic approvals aren't the color of the soles but the cases where the soles are two-toned. And those of course need to be painted, or just avoided. We are in the middle of a minor CRL update right now, so perhaps we can find a better term to describe the sole color. -

Biker Scout holster placement
BikerScout007 replied to theenglishdjentleman's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
There is not. And if we knew what it was we would put it in the CRL. Just do your best to match the placement as seen in the photos. It was definitely one of the scariest things I did on my first Scout build, but it was fine! Everything's going to be fine
