  1. Yeah I've been getting that feeling since Solo. I mean, it does make sense for a military to re-use common parts between troopers. It also probably saves on the costume budget
  2. Yeah I'm hearing that too. Either way I think it's a good fit for this Detachment but ultimately the LMO will decide. I think we should just hunker down, do the work and let the chips fall where they may
  3. Okay @Emerald27c you guys are up on the roster! Great work
  4. Ab looks like Shore. The chest has a Patrol feel to it Boots almost look kind of snow trooper-ish
  5. Hey Stephen! Good to see you at LBCE. Really happy to see you put this together. I'll get you guys up on the roster ASAP
  6. Looks like it is destined for Episode IX. We may get some Sequel Trilogy love yet EDIT: Looks like this is a Galaxy's Edge park exclusive character.
  7. Okay Folks, Possible new Pathfinder on the horizon here. I'm going to start this thread so we can start compiling info
  8. Well by the Legion clock it is already March 1st, so that means we are officially off and running in the new term. I have handed out the new staff's badges and guns and hopefully they are ready to go! I have submitted the roster update to the Legion and that should be up on 501st.com soon. We ran an upgrade to the latest version of IP Board earlier and we apologize for how long it took. But we are now running IP Board 4.4. As usual with any upgrade, things can break, so please: if you see something, say something! @Shortstack will get on it as soon as possible. We've got a great merch run going right now for 501st members and we've got more great ones coming down the pike. And as always, we are here to help you make your costume builds. Post your build threads and questions. We are here for you! Pathfinders Forever!
  9. I think it would be wise to stay inside the Hyatt. It would be convenient for most people. Especially with the swag trade happening. The swag area is supposed to have bars in it too! We could probably all just meet there.
  10. If everyone wants to do the photo inside (I heard there is a bunker again this year) that is totally fine. However, some folks (like me....cough cough) don't have a con ticket for that day, so you'll have to Photoshop me into the pic
  11. Hey Pathfinders! We are getting closer and closer to SWCC and details finally seem to be solidifying on the photo. The 501st Legion photo will take place on SUNDAY April 14 at 9am. Details about the location may be found here: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=102127 PATHFINDERS PHOTO: FRIDAY, 10AM ON THE STAIRS PATHFINDERS MEETUP: FRIDAY NIGHT SWAG TRADE The heart indicates where the stairs for the photo are located. But again, I am open to your suggestions. So please feel free to post your thoughts, and if you are from the Chicago area, feel free to fill in some of our knowledge gaps.
  12. Hey Paul I picked up the Movie Paint brand aging sprays in black, brown and gray. Fortunately, I live in the middle of the movie studios here in L.A. so there are plenty of prop stores selling them. They seem to work really well and are probably as close as we are going to get to Dirty Down here in the US. Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. I'll admit I am no expert on the intricacies of the DLT-20a, but to my eyes it looks great. Real pretty!
  14. Good day, Pathfinders! The Election period is finally behind us and we are ready to keep moving forward, as Pathfinders do. I want to thank you all for your continuing faith in me and the Command team. We really do our best to continue making this the best Detachment in the Legion! And what a year we had! Looking back at the 2018-2019 term, it's almost hard to list everything that was accomplished in that short period of time: We migrated to HostGator, saving the membership hundreds of dollars on hosting fees We got a new URL, 501stpathfinders.com We updated to the latest version of IP Board after many years of running old software We created a new email address and Paypal account to facilitate Web donations The trading cards were relaunched with a whole new look and the old cards were finally rectified so we have better records of who has what The Pathfinders United merch rollout was a huge success The Scout CRL was rewritten from top to bottom to make it even easier to follow The Kashyyyk CRL was rewritten for clarity and to finally add a Level 2 We added vendor lists for each of the costumes to make it easier for potential Pathfinders to get started The Pathfinder Trooping Awards program was relaunched with a new top level ("Ranger") with its own patch and spot on the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Speaking of which, the old Lancer Wall was replaced with the Pathfinders Hall of Fame, featuring Lancers, Vanguards and Rangers. Our new webmaster, @Shortstack, designed a series of new graphics for the forum in order to bring it up to modern day standards The WIPs and the Level 2 applications were moved into their respective forums to make them easier to find and peruse by the membership More ARTs were created We had another successful Racing shirt run last summer And let's not forget the PATROL TROOPER was added to our roster of costumes! There are probably more things to add to that list, but the important thing to know is that we have no intention of resting on our laurels. Expect more good things in the upcoming term. None of this would have been possible without the great team of Pathfinders who volunteer their time to come on here day after day to help give a hand up to folks in need. I cannot thank all of you enough for your hard work, professional attitude and dedication. The following will be the Pathfinders command team for the upcoming term: @Dart will be staying on as XO; he's been a great help to me over the past year on the Admin side of things and even though he STILL hasn't gone for Lancer (hint, hint), his knowledge of the Scout costume is an asset any DL would want. @plagu3is is staying on as Merch Officer. No one can do Merch like John, and with the Legion's new rules on merch to deal with, we need someone who has a reputation with the LMBOs as being the best in the business. @Nexous is staying on as our PR Officer. He has done a great job at promoting the Pathfinders on our social media platforms, and his ability to work independently has been a great asset to me. Before I can say "Hey Daniel, can you post that one pic--" it's already been done. @Shortstack has proven himself to be a worthy successor to Jim, and I don't know how I could have handled the transition without him. @TK8271 Rogue Trooper and @ScaryGuy will continue to be our Shoretrooper experts and Level 2 reviewers, with Theo also helping out with Rebels Scouts. @ferra and @Grumpy will be holding up the Kashyyyk end of things, including the all new "41st Elite" Level 2 judging. @Chopper will be joining @Retrofire on Level 2 review for the Biker Scout. @M.J, @Forest Ranger, @762s, @Aliaz and @gmrhodes13 are all continuing on in their roles as Site Armorers, as their help has been invaluable over the past term. And a few staff changes and new additions: @FIVE will be joining the Armor Team as our Patrol Trooper expert. He's already been a great source of help in that Forum, helping newcomers out with his build advice, and I like to reward folks who are already doing the job. Great to have you aboard, Noel! @inkydinki will be joining the PR Team to promote Recon Fatale, our female Squad of Pathfinders. We are preparing some great stuff for Recon Fatale in the immediate future, so stay tuned! Welcome, Shaina! @Jakeputt will be joining the Armor Team, as he has been a great help on the site since joining. And once he finishes his Kashy, I expect him to help out on that side of things as well! Finally.... it's always sad to see someone go after serving side-by-side for so long. @Strider, my brother, you and I came up around the same time, always pushing the Biker Scout towards higher and higher levels of accuracy. Your passion for the Scout led you to create one of the best and most popular sets of armor available today. Your knowledge of the Scout is second-to-none and it's been great having you serve as the Detachment Captain of the Guard. But photography is calling and I know you have great things going on with that. Thanks for everything over the years. Which means that our new Captain of the Guard/Chief Armorer will be...... @Stroker! Tim has been a constant presence on the Forum for almost six years and has always been quick to lend a helping hand to costumers in need. There are not many folks who make me say "Damn, I wish my Scout looked that good", but Tim's Biker Scout is definitely one of them. And he does this while defying those who think folks who are very tall won't look good in a Scout. At 6'5, Tim towers over most of us, and looks damn good while doing so. I am happy to have him in this new role. I am always available to anyone who has questions or concerns. So please feel free to reach out to me or any of the staff if you have some. I look forward to a great year and I hope to meet many of you at Celebration in Chicago! Pathfinders United! Mickey Bukowski TB/ST-81974 Pathfinders Detachment Leader
  15. Yeah that's the same one he gave me. I assumed the same. But who really knows?
  16. When I talked to him about it a few years ago, it seemed that he portrayed more than one. He mentioned the Scout that hit the tree upside down as one of them. Not sure you want to do that though
  17. What it comes down to is what your Garrison will allow. If you have a question, ask them. Some are stricter than others. And it would also depend on the event as well. If it were an LFL event, I would imagine strict screen accuracy would be needed. At a con? Not so much. Hope this helps!
  18. We are holding at the weapons currently listed in the CRL. If we added every weapon seen in any Scout's hand in any game, comic, toy, novel, etc. the idea of having standards would become meaningless. The weapons we have added were added because they have very strong ties to the Scout. Just like we don't add every costume mishap in the film to the CRL just because it's on screen for half a second. Our job in this Detachment is to put forth the best representation of the costume. If the Scout makes an appearance in a new film and has some new weapons, we'll probably revisit the loadout at some point. But right now, I think we have a pretty good arsenal.
  19. That one.
  20. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to welcome Björn "DoubleDx" Dapper (TB-82112) to the illustrious ranks of the Lancer scouts! Great job, @doubledx! Make sure you send a picture of your coolest pose to @Shortstack for addition to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Check out his application here Nicely done!
  21. These are the ones I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJJRZ7W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fbclid=IwAR1w5gPRLogjN0wAYJydiR7e-iQr_4DpGE92LpeX8UGlGOn9R8MdxNEEhcg
  22. Hi Rob! If you look closely at production photos you can see the zipties. It's easy to spot on the green screen Scout during the speeder bike chase. And you can see it on the "Costumes" book scout too. It's one of those details that once it's pointed out, suddenly becomes obvious. I'll try to find some pics for you. Now this methodology is something I came up with (with some help from @MrPoopie). So I can't speak to how close it is to the screen method. But all we require for our Level 2 scouts is that the portion of the ziptie that bridges the shoulder bell and bridge be visible. We don't evaluate the way applicants strap up their stuff.
  23. No it should really go under your armpits
