  1. You should probably ask them.
  2. Hey Pathfinders! We have gone through this portion of the CRL and have made some revisions to the language. Mainly around materials and the connection of the codpiece for Level 2. Please give it a read: Cummerbund, Codpiece and Pouches Made from white fabric and may be lightly weathered. Closes in back with 50mm (2") hook and loop fastener. Closure is right-over-left. Extends from just under the chest armor down to the belt. Front of cummerbund has 5 ribs of equal width made of 6 vertical stitch lines, centered between the two fabric pouches. Tapered codpiece has a sewn inverted curve detail. Black elastic strap connects codpiece between the legs to either the back of the cummerbund or the flak vest. Pouches are white or off-white. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Cummerbund Made of smooth white cotton fabric Polished cotton or mercerized cotton is preferred. Canvas or duck cloth is not permitted. The cummerbund is separate from the flight suit and vest. Cummerbund ribs are 1 inch wide. No visible external edge stitching. Pouches Made of canvas-type material (e.g., duck cloth) Pouch size is ideally 6 inches high, 5 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Bottom edge of the pouch flap is between 2 and 2.5 inches in width. Pouches have an attachment tab of at least 2 inches high to attach to the cummerbund. Pouch attachment tab is same width as the pouch (5 inches). Pouches have appearance of being affixed to the cummerbund by the attachment tabs as per the originals. Pouches sit approximately 1 inch from the outermost cummerbund rib on each side. Codpiece Made of the same cotton fabric as the cummerbund Elastic strap is 50mm (2 inches). Codpiece and sewn curve conforms to shape pictured in the CRL or Costumes book. Codpiece does not bunch excessively around groin area. Codpiece attaches under the cummerbund either to the vest, the undersuit or the backside of the cummerbund. The codpiece is NOT sewn to the bottom edge of the cummerbund. The main takeaways here are that the materials for the Cummerbund and Codpiece should be different than the materials for the pouches. In the "Beyond the Armor" book, it specifically states that the Cummerbund and Codpiece are made of polished cotton, while the pouches are made of canvas. We understand polished cotton is very hard to get these days, so we just ask that you use a smooth white cotton fabric. While your pouches should be a canvas material, such as duck cloth. Also the codpiece can no longer attach to the bottom edge of the cummerbund for Level 2. It would just be impossible to achieve the look below if it was: The codpiece should be attached behind the cummerbund in some way. We describe some methods in the Level 2 CRL.
  3. Well done! That is one good looking Scout so I expect you to apply for Lancer at some point. I've bumped you up to full Pathfinder access. Congrats!
  4. Biggest kits are probably Altmann, WTF and Kropserkel. But keep in mind, the Scout is really a soft costume on the down low. The chest piece really only should come down to the bottom of the pectoral, it's not meant to cover your whole chest. With the right strapping, you could probably work with most of the armors. SC would probably be a good choice as well. As the RS Props and Strider kits are the most screen accurate, they are going to run on the smaller side. With the right strapping you might be able to make them work. It really depends on your measurements.
  5. Now that we have the Hot Toys in hand, there are going to be more than few changes to the CRL
  6. Yes. Light weathering as seen in the film and promotional photos is not only acceptable, but encouraged! Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  7. Got any pics? I'm of the school of thought that the codpiece should be attached to the vest, not the cummerbund. But let's see what you got to work with. The IB soft goods are still new so I haven't seen many of them yet.
  8. I would try just opening the link in your phone's browser rather than Tapatalk
  9. I just checked and "PFD Recruits" definitely have permissions for that forum. I'm thinking it's an issue with Tapatalk. I have that problem sometimes when I use it.
  10. Here's an example of how one person did a two-piece undersuit
  11. There's no requirement for materials for basic, and where they are required for Level 2 they are listed. You may want to go for cotton as opposed to polyester just for comfort, but that is up to you.
  12. As long as the modifications are screen accurate, then you're all good.
  13. It just needs to have the appearance of a one-piece flight suit once you have everything on. I imagine with a pair of Dickies pants and a zip-up work jacket you could probably achieve the same look. This is popular with the female Scouts as it makes it easier for them to do bathroom breaks. I've seen instances where they've purchased a flight suit and then cut it in half. I'll see if I can find some threads.
  14. There was a thread with this very same question a few months back. I'll see if I can dig it up and you can see what that Scout did!
  15. The cover strip should be as posted in the CRL if you're going for Lancer. Where you make up the rest is on the side straps. Those can be as long as needed. We've had bigger folks post this same problem and that solution has worked. Give it a shot!
  16. You look great man, I wouldn't change a thing!
  17. My guess is they get photos directly from LFL to make these toys. THOSE photos are what I want to see, but for our purposes this is the best we are going to get for now. The lack of angles from the film and books about the film means we've pretty much had to rely on the toy to write the CRL. Wouldn't be the first time in Legion history
  18. I want to thank@Hask for taking these for us. Definitely going to help with revising the CRL. Thanks, Kris!
  19. Awesome! You can send them to direct to me if you don't want to worry about hosting them somewhere. I can get them posted in the forum.
  20. WHOA You have the Hot Toys? Can you please take pictures of every angle and send them to us?
  21. I use Tapatalk when posting photos to the forum. Tapatalk will host the photos for you. If you are embedding photos from a photo host, just be careful you are entering the right code. The tags should use brackets "[" instead of "<" It looks like flickr provides a way to format code to post into a forum: https://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157697695697532/
  22. Thank you for being a Lancer Scout and making your costume the best that it can be! I haven't forgotten your Lancer badge, there's a back end issue preventing me from giving it to you right now. I got @Shortstack on the case!
  23. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to welcome Teri "TK-Teri" Moore (TB-21129) to the illustrious ranks of the Lancer scouts! Great job, @TK-Teri!! Make sure you send a picture of your coolest pose to @Shortstack for addition to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Check out her application here:
  24. It's not that clear in the pics, but I just sewed my straps to the nylon closure in the back. this is how it was done in the film.
