  1. What about contacting Palladium Boots too? They currently offer a canvas boot/shoe that is really similar to the Hi-Tech originals. Perhaps they would be open to a boot/shoe with the scout soles. Plus, they are available to most parts of the world. http://www.palladiumboots.co.uk/
  2. I think KS is hit or miss, but they do refund and/or replace bad parts. I got my kit from them 2 years ago (when it was really bad). I think things are better now, but as with any vendor, you need to let them know if you are not happy.
  3. IMO...when I see a scout wearing those shrimper boots, it is a sad thing. They just look so...horrible.
  4. I'd go with an SC helmet based on your size. It's a good one.
  5. The only parts I sand are the edges to keep them smooth. I use a Fine, 200 grit sanding sponge from Lowes. Works great for most projects... http://www.lowes.com/pd_68461-98-SSG-F_0__?productId=4184877&Ntt=sanding+sponge&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dsanding%2Bsponge&facetInfo=
  6. I would advise a msg to Marcel and Chex to form the council. You're a staff member so there's no reason we could not form the group you mentioned. Great idea btw...
  7. I think that would be great. When I joined up a few years back, we still had little square bits of black plastic. At least the blu ray gave us the actual image of what was used. Whether it's up or down, is up to everyone to decide and let Marcel and Chex know. I have mine one way now, but it's been the other way too. Edit: ...and I like Lee's new banners! ^^
  8. If not already here...welcome to the world of Star Wars costuming. As this thread can show you, it's all part of figuring out 'what's up' and then 'what's best' for the costume as a whole. I'm only showing what's in the current Pathfinder online CRL. The GML usually looks there first for approval references, then the DL and/or XO weigh in representing the detachment. I personally have mine attached with double-sided tape. Since this discussion began, I've had it both ways. Now, it's the same as the CRL image. Most of the scouts I've met have it that way too.
  9. Or, you can hitup the BSN member Smitty. He's got some for sale too and they are great.
  10. Yep, agree with the above posts. Looks really good, just raise the elastic bands on your legs a bit.
  11. On the blue ray, there is an image with the TD greeblie...but the TD is totally upside down and most likely off. See below. Also, this has been a big discussion on the forum and it was decided that this is the correct orientation. It is all based on our (the BSN forum members) best guess and/or observations. So, to be in line with the CRL, make sure it's lined up that way. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8819&st=0&p=73453&hl=screencap&fromsearch=1&#entry73453 Here's a few topics for your review: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8789&st=0&p=73450&hl=+blue%20+ray&fromsearch=1&#entry73450 http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9990&hl=greeblie&fromsearch=1
  12. The best way is to follow the CRL; this is the image --
  13. This should make for a fine carbine blaster. Great start so far! I'm like you and love a good weapons mod. Here's my modified Nerf.
  14. Yep...DJ in the UK is also a good snout and TD greeblie maker. He's on eBay.
  15. I'm really liking your topic and posts! Keep it up!
  16. I can safely say Marcel is an "expert" in boot making. He's got it down.
  17. Right click on the file you want, and save it.
  18. Looks much better; best of luck on your app!
  19. So...the real question. Where did you acquire this helmet?
  20. I've got a few of these blasters. Looks like you got a decent one with few bubbles.
  21. Not requred for general Pathfinder clearance. It would look better if it were filled, but not required.
  22. Looks sort of like a KS recast...note the dimple on the snout area where the snout riser plate should be...KS helmets have that dimple. The ear cutouts looks weird too, a little off IMO...
