  1. I get mine here too. They have tons of stuff in nylon and cotton.
  2. Hehe..."men's suspenders". It does sort of sound funny, eh?! Yeah, 35mm elastic is elusive on this side of the pond. But, the "mens's suspenders" in 35mm do the trick and the elastic is sturdy. Works for me...
  3. I bought some men's elastic suspenders on eBay (35mm), and chopped 'em up. Both my scouts are done that way.
  4. I use a trunk that can be picked up at Wal-mart for $19. It holds my armor and soft parts.
  5. I'm sure the previous seller was going for the Bike Scout "weathered" look...using black spray paint.
  6. Nicely done and really coming along. I like your techniques.
  7. MLC is a very good helmet, you did well. The white finish on the helmet looks like the default MLC white. If so, you could try to gently remove the marks and bad surface paint using Goo-Gone. This is a citrus based cleaner that can easily remove the black marks and other paint without removing the white coat. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Goo-Gone-Pro-Power-Pump-Spray/17300573 If not, you can remove all of the paint using a different citrus based stripper called "Back to nature". It works pretty well and can easily remove ALL of the paint in a about an hour. If you go this route, you'll need to spray it on, let it set, then rinse it off with water. You can repeat as needed to get the paint off, then you'll need to sand and re-finish. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Back-to-Nature-Hi-Speed-Ready-Strip-32-Ounce-Citrus-Paint-and-Varnish-Remover-Spray/17292210
  8. Okay...good and bad. First the good: it looks like an MLC helmet. Of course, it could be a recast (also in fiber glass) but I think it's a real MLC. The bad: you really should strip it down, sand it, prime it, and repaint it gloss white. I'll look much better and last longer.
  9. Ya, and the "Integral Flip-Up Face Shield"...
  10. It's really, really horrible...as mentioned above avoid these guys.
  11. Those came in all the model kits when I was a kid (45 now). They were really easy to work with and you could position them much better. I'd be interested if you did that too.
  12. Looking good Chris...I do not have any recommendations. The helmet turned out nice too. Get your belt and some gloves on, and we'll see.
  13. Ah, the originals...that's a good question. I'm not certain what was used. The original stormies had painted details, so these could be either, or something in between.
  14. I have one continuous piece of cotton webbing for mine. The ends attach in the back. So, option 1 for me.
  15. Peel and stick from Trooperbay, all the way m8.
  16. Looking really good overall. I know what you've been through to get back to this point. Here's a few things more on the look-and-feel tip: raise the shoulders a bit, raise the pouches so the flaps are hidden (like under your chest armor), pull your belt up a tad, and forearms over the gloves.
  17. Very cool Tomas! I believe you are witnessing a LW helmet build Donovan...
  18. Worth every penny! Chunk does a really great job on these suits.
