  1. Agreed, and there's nothing in the book that we do not already know...
  2. Wow, very nice indeed! Happy Holidays!
  3. And, that's exactly what I did on my MLC3.
  4. Agreed. If you are referring to the rubber Duff blaster, that's the best option.
  5. Agreed! I use E-6000 for most things and Gorilla Glue for anything "permanent".
  6. I'm still leaning towards copper RJ-11 telephone wire.
  7. It still looks like telephone wire (late 70s, early 80s). That would have given it some rigidity too. My 2 cents.
  8. It looks like you have found the scouts you seek. They are both top notch!
  9. Not too bad! Here are a few things to tidy up: straps on the hang boxes need to be adjusted (front/back), vest sleeves are a bit long; take about 1.5 or more off or fold it under for the biceps; always wear the forearms over the gloves; just do it ; and need to pull up the bund, maybe even attach it to the vest so it does not slip (a lot of us use Velcro or a strap system). Coming along nicely!
  10. Yep, I have seen that many times. It's another interesting "anomaly", like the missing TD bits on some scouts.
  11. I did not have any issues with my KS lens. Perhaps the heat gun caused an abnormality in the bend. For my MLC - I picked one up from Smitty here on the forum, used a heat gun for the bend, and ended up with a decent lens.
  12. Great post and comparison. I'd like to see an MLC comparison too. As stated above, KS has some issues (with armor and lids), but can be dealt with accordingly. I picked up a KS helmet (built) like you and then modified it (heavily) to make it better. In the end, I sold it and got an MLC - which I love. KS makes decent stuff, just need to update/fix their molds a bit. This was my KS:
  13. I have often wondered the same thing man. Thanks for posting this up.
