  1. SC is usually pretty good, and the Plasti-Dip really won't do much, to be honest. A garrison mate used truck bed liner on the inside of his Shadow Stormtrooper armour and it's solid. Some paint the inside of the helmet near the ears black but it's not required.
  2. Managed to get a place that's 4 miles away. Gonna see if I can get a better room once the 501st block opens up.
  3. Overall, it looks good! You might want to move the pouches in towards the ribs as they still seem a bit far out. Speaking of pouches, what size are they? Also, don't forget to dye those brown bits on the gloves.
  4. Please join me in congratulating Tony "Dragon_a" TB-72822 in achieving the rank of Lancer. Great work!
  5. You're not wrong, Frank. There's no need for the riding patch to extend too far back. As long as it covers the inner leg at the front, that's the look you want. I'm actually planning on building a new flightsuit as I managed to pick up what looks like a decent jumpsuit pattern. Just need to get to doing it.
  6. Agreed. I'm looking forward to an 8 hour drive instead of 23, ha! Looking forward to this one! It's been a long time since there was a centrally-located Celebration. Maybe C3 was the last?
  7. My best advice is to hit up Fabricland. I've found lots of 2" nylon webbing and some good 1.5" webbing that is perfect. If you need some help with it, lemme know and I can pick some up for you.
  8. I have a fan in mine. Way back when, I got a Moncal hollow snout, so I drilled a hole in my faceplate and snout and mounted a squirrel fan that blows upwards. Works a treat. Dunno what I'll do in my new helmet, but I'll definitely use a fan.
  9. Bingo! On the replicas and originals, there were rain covers to keep your hands dry(-ish) and you'd fold them up and store them in there. I just keep a couple of challenge coins in mine - 1 in each glove.
  10. For the boots, they look to be tall riding-style boots with armour attached to the toes, heels, upper foot, and the boot upper that covers the shin and calf area.
  11. Wish they hadn't changed the name of the blaster. Used to be called a Sorosuub Q-2s5. Maybe the got bought out by BlasTech? haha!
  12. Amy, it's a perfectly reasonable assumption. Don't beat yourself up for it too much. At the very least, it'll make for a decent display helmet. Or, you could sell it and get another helmet.
  13. Hello David! Thanks for making your way over! I haven't heard anything formal yet, but it's possible that costume may find a home here.
  14. You should be able to toss it in the washer after a troop. I used a heavy dull satin for both my cummerbund/codpiece and flak vest and have no issues washing it. You can leave the straps on.
  15. The helmet looks like a copy of an MLC fibreglass helmet. Just from the photos, I'd go with another vendor just so you know what you're getting.
  16. I'd finish putting it all together before you worry about airflow. I currently have 1 fan that blows up towards my lens. For me, it helps a lot when it gets humid. But generally, the ear holes make a big difference.
  17. I have my Aker amp mounted in my left pouch and I've never had any issue with it pulling. I just route my microphone cable through my soft parts. I just took a piece of really stiff fabric and created a strap for the belt clip on the back of the speaker to slide through, which holds it pretty securely. The only problem with mounting a speaker under your armour is feedback from the speaker. That said, it can be done.
  18. Massive thanks for doing us a solid, Steve!
  19. Sounds like you're well on your way to a great build! Make sure to take some photos and keep us all updated on your progress!
  20. The only place I use snaps is to attach the webbing that holds my chest and back plates together at the shoulder. Velcro usually does the trick everywhere else.
