On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to welcome Kris "Hask" (TB-33633) to the illustrious ranks of the CHiPs Patrol Troopers! Kris is the newest Pathfinder to achieve Level 2 status with the Patrol Trooper costume. Congratulations! Make sure you send a picture of your coolest pose to @Shortstack for addition to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. We have just set up a new section for "CHiPs" Patrol Troopers, so we can't wait to start filling it up. Check out his application here:

Another easy way to install these is to drill a 1/2" hole in the visor and a 1/4" hole on the faceplate. The bolt will fit into the round hole with a solid push and stay put and the smaller hole is the right size for the threaded end.

In the past, we'd just zip tie or use gutted paracord to tie up the first 2-3 eyelets that would be covered by the vinyl, then lace up the rest. I know I'm definitely going to try the elastic laces for my next boot build.

Looks good! Not too heavy but just enough. Great job!

Have you tried going to a Michael's store? I'm pretty sure they carry blade supplies. Also check out any local hobby stores as they'll likely have something as well. If you still can't find anything, lemme know and I'll get some and mail 'em to ya. It's the least I could do for a future garrison-mate.

Yup. For the mudflap and leg suede bits, just a single thickness is fine. That's what appears to be the case on screen.

I've had 2 holsters crack where I put the holes. Even with backing material, it can happen. I'd just ring up SC and buy a new holster. I did that with my MC stuff. I've had some success with repairs by backing the holes with some plastic and just gluing the cracked pieces together. Doesn't look amazing but it holds.

Congrats on the first TB troop! Yeah, we don't always get the love. I remember being called "another kind of stormtrooper" many times, but it was cool when someone actually knew what I was by name. The Velcro on the flight suit is a definite plus. Makes wearing the armour a bit easier.

Well, let's remember there's at least 1 scout seen on screen that had nothing on the back of his thermal det. I seem to recall hearing that some of the parts on this display were actually production made but not used. That could account for the biceps missing the greeblies and looking so clean.

The wrist seam seems pretty consistent with a zipper. It seems to go up a fair ways on the forearm and, if it were a zipper, that seems about right.

Congrats!

IIRC, the off white option was something even before my time (2009) that was meant to make it easier to look like an Endor scout and not a Death Star scout. The pouches should still be made of the same material. Also, touching upon what Mickey said, they were all white to begin with and were weathered down after the DT scenes were shot. So there's that.

The change was made because, texturally, there's a big difference between the cotton canvas pouches and the polished cotton 'bund and I think we all decided that it was important to show that difference.

Got my RS Scout bucket today.

Interesting. You can see the differences in the visor (corners are more rounded and the top is less rounded on the NI) and the lens (eyes shorter at the ends on the NI). -
Welcome aboard!

Hi Sal! I know what you mean and I couldn't agree more. If I could afford another costume now, I'd be all over the Patrol Trooper. Maybe someday...

Raised lip around the Shoulder Bells
Dart replied to StudioCreations's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I hear what you're saying, Jeff, but if that front-facing shot had a lip around the edge of the shoulder bell, we should see the edge sticking up at the top of the bell, and I'm not seeing that. Also, the shot from the side is definitely a stunt suit, due to the helmet visor bottom flare, where the front shot is a regular suit, again, because of the lack of flared visor. -
My new slightly used Woodland sneakers (correction)
Dart replied to Whiskey's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
I think I have a few searches. Some of them are "Sierra Sneakers", "woodland sneakers", "sierra hikers", "sierra trading post", and a few others. It's very hit and miss as some folks don't know how to label them, so they fall through the search webs. -

That's likely bang-on. That visor flare is very indicative of a stunt helmet and likely, stunt armour. That almost looks like it could be from the speeder bike chase. That said, 1 photo really isn't enough for us to change anything about the shoulder bells. We have more info that shows there is no lip than we do the other way. -

The camo ones are cool. I almost had a pair to wear - a buddy of mine found a pair in size 13 but they didn't *quite* fit. *sigh* -
Lotta promises there. Whole lotta cheese on the line. For their sake, they'd better pull it all off or I doubt they'll have the license for much longer.

Was just wondering about this. Great to see this in its final form! Looking forward to more information.

If you have a sporting goods store near you, you can likely find some sort of shotgun/rifle case that won't break the bank. Measure up your blasty-mc-pew-pew and see what you can find. Or visit second-hand stores to see if there are any cases there. Even old musical instrument cases could work. You can also look at a soft case if you're not going to be man-handling it.
