Did you end up getting new end caps, or are those the standard SC ones?

Tips for painting the white circle on the tank topper?

Fair enough. Makes sense. Thanks again, Mickey. Hopefully this project will be finished soon enough and I can officially submit my application. -

Does that mean the Lancer standard will be amended/clarified? -

Hah, no such luck for me. DVH's rubber tank toppers are great, but unfortunately don't have that marking. This is the best I can do using a washer as a stencil. I'll be weathering the armor anyhow, so I dusted the edges a bit to throw off my ocd. Also, does the red stripe go along the back edge (the edge at the bottom of the photo) as well as the top? I've seen some people paint it like that, but I can't find a decent reference photo for what is "correct". -
I used volara foam inside my cod. Works pretty well.

Haha don't worry. I am definitely rattle-can weathering my kit. Just wanted to lock down the correct grey color for the td cable first.

Yessss! Thanks Shaun!

Thanks Shaun. The cord still needs to be painted and the end caps are stuck on with tape -- that said, any feedback on my wrap job?

Can anyone give me an idea of the approximate length of the cable tube? 11 inches? More? Less?
-
Yeah, I actually just came back from Home Depot and whaddayaknow, they have straight cut sections of hose tubing. I guess that'll teach me for going to Lowes first. Thanks man.
-
Also if you don't mind me asking, where did you find straight hose tubing? Everywhere I look it's curved and I've had a helluva time trying to straighten it out.

Tread carefully. Pandatrooper makes creating a return edge look a lot easier than it actually is.
-
Yeah that def looks like it was hit with a dremel cut out tool.
-
Does this shed any light on the holster question?

Nice work. I'll be keeping an eye on this, as I plan on doing some similar weathering once my dome gets in.

I've seen some of the armorers mention particular orientations (1 oclock? 3 oclock?) for the bicep and forearm armor? I'm going to be sewing some velcro backing on my coveralls to try and hold the armor parts on more securely, so I wanted to make sure I've got them oriented in the right direction first. Thanks for the guidance!

Hey, welcome Steve. I actually grew up in Ann Arbor. Nice to see another Michigan person, even if I don't live there anymore.

There was a review of them from several years ago, here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12601&hl=%20imperial%20%20boots&st=0

Killer, thanks Mickey. That's all I need to know. This is with the sleeves taken up -- it's handsewn, but I can throw it on the machine now that it's securely fastened.

You should experiment with a junk pair of boots that you don't care about messing with first. I ended up using an exacto blade and chisel blade for best results, but yeah, definitely try your technique out on something else first.
