  1. It’s passable but it could use some more cleanup. The left shoulder box has a pull issue, may you can remove and fill it. You could also add the recessed slots at the same time 😉. The side also seems to have a curve that shouldn’t be there, maybe some filler will smooth that. I agree the top circle ident is too big. The center greeblies are also quite thick, although passable. I recommend taking measurements from reference pictures, then scale it to your actual armor size.
  2. No, we don't have a complete paint guide. You are doing a Captain? The chest is relatively easy for the Captain, all four sections (below) the buckles are painted blue, plus the left side bridge There are the four vertical sections of the upper chest painted grey-blue leaving tan indentations in between sections Left side section is painted grey-blue. The left forearm Left forearm is tan with moderate weathering. There is horizontal grey-blue stripe on the elbow side and a yellow horizontal stripe directly below it. The yellow stripe begins approximately above the fifth recessed section from the wrist end of the forearm, and ends approximately just below the eighth recessed section from the wrist end of the forearm. The grey-blue stripe begins at the bottom of the eighth recessed section from the wrist end of the forearm, and covers the remainder of the elbow end of the forearm. You can check this thread for a template for the faulds. @Cricket Thanks! That's correct.
  3. I think it helps when you have the two pouches if you could do a mockup with the straps so we can see how it would look.
  4. I think that makes sense. Unless someone knows how to extract the model and look behind the pouch we don't know what type of box is behind it. If have no issue if another large box is used for the left side too. Another thing to consider are the pouch straps. For the Specialist the straps are used like the movie version, but with two pouches this is not going to work very well if both have to cross and connect behind the hip plates. Maybe for the Heavy the straps should not be used and the pouches be mounted directly to the belt.
  5. Yes, you can give the helmet the powder effect if you want, but if you don’t want that to happen hold it closer 😃.
  6. Maybe you hold the can too far away? You have to spray Montana Gold pretty close to the object since it's a low pressure can. Otherwise it dries quickly in the air and you get the powder effect.
  7. Damn, that’s fast! Yes, that looks good! Good job!
  8. Looking great! Well done! One thing that sticks out for me is that the shin rear cover strip extends above the shin. They should match the height of the shin. If you want to aim for level 2 that is something we will ask to fix. For level 2 the top layer of the strip must also end behind the upper strap.
  9. Looking like a specialist 😃! Do you have pictures of the rear and left side too?
  10. Congrats Mickey! Excellent looking costume! Thanks for leaving something for us to find !
  11. We went over your application Mickey and everything looks great, fit is good! We found one issue considering the belt, the top box of the hinged combination is missing it's lower part (with the slot) as described in this thread:
  12. Thanks for the picture update Mickey!
  13. Not sure if this is a tapatalk issue, but most pictures are low-res so we will need some more high-res / close-up shots to confirm details: Shirt, rear view. Close-up of the zipper (must zip down) Shins, close-up of the buckles Shins, close-up of the front plates Back plate, left and right greeblie box close-up Back plate, close-up of the stepped ledge at the bottom of the main back box. Belt, close-up of the medium boxes (top detail present) and the two small boxes (no top detail). Belt, close-up of large hinged belt box including a side view. Vertical canister, close-up of top greeblie Pants, close-up of the diamond shape while wearing the pants
  14. It's not my decision either, everyone can give their opinion. Based upon the opinions and/or evidence why it something should be included in the CRL the detachment staff will make a decision on what to include.
  15. Good to see your application Mickey! We'll get working on it! For starters, can we have these additional shots: Front of the handplate, showing the slot. High-res images of the E-22 including a top view The shin cover strip area behind/near the top strap Side of the chin cup
  16. Indeed, I have two spicy orange references and they are slightly different. They are also different paints making it more difficult to compare. For level 2 we’re not asking anyone to hold a pantone color reference next to their helmet. It has to be in that color range, not plain red like we had before.
  17. I got the entire montana gold orange range and the Red Orange was the closest match to the spicy orange. I had regular wood paint mixed to spicy orange. I also got a color swatch from Mr Paul’s spicy orange paint.
  18. Great job on fixing that backplate! The chest looks to hang a bit low on you, but that might level out when you add the shirt and abs. As for the blasters, the problem with a multiplayer game like Battlefront II is that you can unlock any weapon and use that in-game. For a CRL we would like to minimize it to weapons that match with the character. As the A280 blaster is typically a rebel forces weapon I don't think that one is a good one to add to the CRL. If the specialist class is a kind of sniper then something like the DLT-19X would make more sense as an imperial unit. But I would focus finishing the costume first, as blaster are not a requirement for basic approval.
  19. Hi Joe! Yes, looks good!
  20. Good to see you again! You need to copy the BBCode link from the image and paste it here, then the image will be visible.
  21. Hi Gertjan, for some reason I can't see any of your pictures on my ipad, I had to use a laptop to browse through your build thread. You have modeled the backplate greeblie boxes to the game references which look great, but for the CRL we are using the movie references, only the color scheme will be based on the game references. So if you want to aim for level 2 later on, we will expect the greeblies to match the movie version. For example your heatsink is different, and the 5 panel greeblie next to it doesn't have the angled side on the right. For basic approval your greeblies will be fine though. That recess cut out on the left side should not be present, only on the right side. The Sean Fields backplate extends too far forward, there should be a gap between the backplate and the chest. You seem to have chosen to open the ab section at the sides, before the diagonal strip. The screen used costumes have an opening at the rear which is hidden by the cover plate. It doesn't seem very noticeable when you wear the ab section, so for basic approval probably fine. But for level 2 we want this to look seamless. You did a great job on the forearms, the cover strips look so much better then the Sean Fields ones. Did you modify the cover strips on the biceps too? It will look off if you use two different cover strip styles on the biceps and forearms.
  22. Looking at pictures of the SGB helmet the outer edge seems to be part of the helmet. So it looks like it is intended to just glue the lower part on. Sand down the back of lower part as much as possible.
  23. It’s similar but not exactly the same. Most noticable is that the pattern on the aerator is different, in the CRL it is described as “Hole” pattern snout aerator.
  24. Congrats with the upgrade Melody!
