  1. Thanks. We really take a lot of pride in this forum and Detachment as well as trying to give help wherever we can.
  2. A small amount of weathering can be allowed on the JFO Scout (See photo below), it doesn't need to be "clean" armor. As for the soft parts, everything is in the CRL but to summarize here. The flight suit is basically the same as the ROTJ Scout minus the suede parts and the thigh straps. You also won't need to worry about the mandarin collar or neck strap since the neck will be covered by the neck seal. There's no flak vest. The bund is a similar build to the ROTJ Scout but instead teh ribbing will cover the entire front half of the bund, starting under one arm and ending under the other. The codpiece is the same as the ROTJ Scout. There are no pouches. The neck seal is similar to a TK neck seal but preferably made from a cotton-like material. The boots are the same as the ROTJ Scout. The gloves are also different as you'll need to find a good way to adhere the detail parts to the glove. The only good way I found to do this was with velcro sewn to the gloves to attach the extra pieces. By doing this it's another piece of the armor that isn't interchangeable with the ROTJ Scout. Some other things to make sure that you remember is that the shoulders and biceps do not have elastic strapping and are affixed to the flight suit, most likely with velcro. The bicep is also missing the elastic slot that the ROTJ Scout has. The Tank Topper also has a different color scheme than the ROTJ Scout. Basically there are enough differences in the armor that it's not easy to have a set of armor that can be used for both the JFO Scout and the ROTJ Scout. Some parts are interchangeable but not all so you will likely have duplicates of some parts if you want to own both costumes.
  3. Still good to go. Should be clear but rain isn't going to stop Pathfinders.
  4. It might be fun to paint one of these black and covertly carry it next time we have a "Blast-a-Trooper" event, so when they start shooting, I can shoot back.
  5. We're having an in-person Armor Party in Orange County California on October 9th @ 11:00am - 4:00pm (ish). Anyone in the area is welcome to come and join us. There will be plenty of Pathfinders to help with building or questions. Any new or prospective recruits are invited to come see what it's like to be a Pathfinder. PM if you're interested and need the address. We recommend attendees be vaccinated. If you are unvaccinated you will need to wear a mask during the event. Thank you for your understanding.
  6. No worries, We'll still be here and have another event in a couple of months.
  7. Either will work. I think you'll need the Zoom app on your phone but not positive about it. Either way it's free.
  8. Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party Q3-B 2021 Saturday September 4th 9:00AM (PST) / 12:00PM (ET) / 4:00PM (UTC+1) Length: 2 hours (depending on interest and availability of staff) Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82643221505 Meeting ID: 826 4322 1505 (No Download Required) What a pity, you don't understand - Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party. Everyone is welcome to attend and bring any questions you have about any of the Pathfinders costumes. If you're new to the detachment and this is your first costume build or if you're deep in the weeds with a plethora of costumes but feel "just one more couldn't hurt," come join in. We tried to set this one up with our Australian Pathfinders in mind. Next time we'll move around somewhere else on the planet for better reception. While the forum is a great source for just about anything you would like to know about Pathfinders costumes, it never hurts to have someone to talk to directly as well as being able to ask specific questions about your build while being able to see first hand the answers to those questions. Working on armor by yourself can be a daunting task, so let us help with some of that strain. Armorers and Command staff will be available to help you with your builds so come prepared with questions and be ready to work. Or if you just want to say hi to some of the folks you see posting on the forum all the time, now is your chance! If you are unable to attend due to timezone issues please let us know your interest. If there are enough people outside of the current timezone we can always schedule another Armor Party at a later date that will take this into account. Recorded Session:
  9. The battery tubes go all the way to the front. The arm tubes dead end at the shoulder.
  10. This is a great loss for our Garrison, Legion and society. He was a wonderful man and one of the kindest people I've ever met. At the beginning of the Pandemic I would stop by his place regularly to pickup 3D printed PPE mask holders that he was printing while personally going through cancer treatments. His selflessness was something to aspire to. Even though things were tough for him he was still concerned with helping however he could. You'll be greatly missed amigo.
  11. The linked pic below might give you a better idea of how the battery cradle attaches to the belt. Basically it's sewn to the belt and then wraps around and has 2 velcro straps which hold everything together. https://photos.app.goo.gl/VvUh5tSoep1fUjov9 Here's the rest of the gallery with some pics that might help. https://photos.app.goo.gl/WLcn4EChJx2Vg7Fw5
  12. I'm not sure what you mean by "towel".
  13. I do like the way looks but the in-game models don't have it. That being said we don't have a L2. I would like to see what others think. What do you think @BikerScout007?
  14. It sure does.
  15. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. From what I can see there is NO version 2 back only a version 2 chest. These means that you either print both the v1 chest and back or you print the v2 chest and v1 back but you'll also need to make the v2 modifications to the back. It seems to as the the v2 chest has a better fit and build which is why he made the modifications. This won't change the overall look of the armor just the way it seems to go together. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  16. I'll get some models ready for scrutiny soon.
  17. This even seems to be the live-action driver. You can tell by the knee.
  18. I'm trying to find out the differences in armor from what already appears in the wild. Let me know what you guys think and if this lines up with how you're seeing it. I can model up the new leg armor for this if everyone agrees what we're going for. Parts: FO TK Shoulder FO TK Chest & Back FO TK Bicep (different paint scheme) FO TK Forearm (different paint scheme) FO TK Hand Guard FO TK belt with variations on pouches FO TK Cod "New" knee (attached underneath to shin with arm gasket material) Similar shin armor to PT with modifications "New" shin front plate
  19. Updated Main post with a link to the video.
  20. Another great task under your leadership.
  21. It's difficult to see the backside. Basically you can go with normal black vinyl if it's easier to find. If you use vinyl canvas you just want to make sure that the backside is smooth and slightly shiny like normal vinyl. The smooth side is the side you'll have facing outwards. Something like that fabric below. https://www.fabric.com/buy/ug-955/marine-vinyl-black
  22. Hopefully this helps a bit. https://photos.app.goo.gl/WLcn4EChJx2Vg7Fw5 Click on the image below to go my Flickr album as well.
  23. You're going to want to make the padded parts out of black canvas vinyl with foam filling. These pads can vary slightly in size depending on your body shape and size.
  24. Nylon webbing will be the easiest to work with and acquire. Since we only had the video game screenshots to work with we have to fill in the blanks with what the designers were going for. We also need to make it easiest enough to build and procure parts.
  25. The harness webbing straps are 2". The pads are going to be just slightly larger, maybe another 1/4" on each side of the webbing. The foam filling inside the padded parts should be some kind of sewable foam that's no more than 1/4" thick. Think of them as backpack straps and you should be able to picture it better.
