Thanks for applying, Amanda. Lancer apps are currently on hold right now, while the Lancer Requirements Review team is going over the requirements with a fine-tooth comb. I hope to open these back up in a couple of weeks at the latest.

Nope, no tan. I saw a bunch of these at Walmart the other day, too. They actually have three boots that have similar soles: the Bandy II, the Bandy III and another one I can't remember. They look pretty good. I think they *could* pass for Kashyyyk Troopers, but not for a Jango.

Kashyyyk Trooper CRL 2012 discussions
BrotherHalo replied to mrbungle's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
Okay guys, there's been a lot of discussion the past few weeks about the CRLs and GMLs needing some sort of "checklist" or guide to approve costumes. There's many saying that the GML shouldn't need a checklist, there are some that say they aren't familiar enough with several costumes to determine whether or not it's good. And then there's people asking - what do new recruits use to figure out what they need? So, to spoon-feed both newbies and GMLs alike, the CRLs are being re-worked YET AGAIN. However, this time, it looks like it's going in a different, yet better, direction. But it's a two-fold process: 1. There's the CRL which is text-based. There's a new format that we're using and I'll post shortly. 2. There's also going to be the Visual References, as seen here: http://www.501st.com/crl/SL_CRL/SL103_Tyra...TC/index103.php and here: http://www.501st.com/crl/SL_CRL/SL104_Tyra...TS/index104.php So I'll be putting a call out for people to submit their pictures that we can use. -
ROFL! I know what you mean, mosi! Would it kill ILM to just send us some hi-res still images of the trooper?

Well, I'm very interested to see how your new paint choice turns out. Make sure you take some pics tonight!

Good catch. Now that wasn't nice, Andreas. Fix the boot, take the photos, and we'll go from there. If you can do that within the next day or so, please do so. Otherwise, like Mike said, we'll deny your app this go around. -

WOW. Those look good. Could you please post a full-boot shot? -
I'm all for that, within reason of course. What problems do you see on existing KTs?

Awesome pics!

That boot you posted above looks good to my eyes. -
Honestly, what you probably paid for that fiberglass bucket could easily get you a KS lid in kit form, at the least. You can always try selling your helmet to get the funds for the KS bucket.

The rest of your gear is very nice. The last remaining detail is your boots, correct! -
LANCER APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
BrotherHalo replied to BrotherHalo's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Since the election is over (has been over), we are going to clear all pending Lancer applications before we accept any more Lancer apps. There is going to be a review period with the command staff and all active Lancers to discuss the requirements and any necessary modifications. Thank you for your patience! -

I'm not sure those will work. They need to match as close as possible as: The gap in the tread on those two boots are two far in between. If you can add the additional tread grooves, it might work, though. -

Andreas, as an alternative: You may want to locate a flexible filling putty to fill in the grooves. Think of something like Bondo, except one that is flexible enough to take the movement of the boot sole. I do not know what is in Germany, but if you know anyone who works in an auto body repair shop or can talk to someone there for a recommendation, that would be my suggestion. With a flexible putty, you would fill in the grooves, allow it to dry completely, then sand smooth, then paint over it in a color that matches the rest of the sole. I am personally not aware of anyone who has done this so I cannot say whether or not the results you would get would look seamless, so please make a note of this. The alternative, I think, would be to buy a new pair of boots and rebuild them. The choice is yours to make. Good luck whichever way you decide! (Thanks, Jay!) -

Sure thing, Andreas! Some people use either one of these boots. I'm not sure what is available in Germany, however... http://www.payless.com/store/product/detai...splayName=Mens+ http://www.payless.com/store/product/detai...splayName=Mens+ -

Hi Andreas, We've been talking about your boots at length. You've been great for making all of the necessary modifications so far. Unfortunately, we feel the base/sole of the boot is not quite right. Since you are using a different boot than the other Lancers, the sides of the sole are different enough to detract from the rest of the Lancers. Rather than opening up a problem for all Lancers (and for us staff) we'd prefer if you can change the boot base to a more accurate base. Above, you can see the boot on the left has no additional texture or tread, but your boot has this at the front and the heel of the boot. If you have questions, please ask. -
On behalf of the Command team, we would like to welcome bdgr (TB-4468) to the Lancer Squad. Congratz! Now get out there and make us Lancers proud! Make sure you send me a good pic so I can add it to the Lancer page.

Hmmmm. Well, this has been a tough one, Mike. We've discussed it at length and ... well ... Ah, who am I kidding. Good job. Lancer approved!
