Looking good Greedo-man! Here's what I see my friend. 1.) Bund is riding kinda low it shouldn't be below your belt and it looks like it's slipping down from your chest armor. Can you pull that up higher? Look at the sixth photo and you can see it falling under the chest/back armor. Bikerscout007 caught me on that mistake on my pre-approval and I know he'll give me grief if I miss it again. He has a thing for the cummerbund . 2.) Your bicepts and forearms are almost on the bottom of your arms. You'll need to rotate the biceps around and make them almost square with the shoulders. The forearms should just be over the tops of your gauntlets by about 1/2" - 1". 3.) The flight suit on the left knee is looking bunched below the armor. Might want to pull that tight after you put your knees on then put your boots on. 4.) The right vest sleeve needs to be pulled down a bit. It looks like it's riding up under the shoulder bell. It's looking great and most of it is just fitment and you'll learn all that once you start wearing it more. Just a matter of tightening it up a bit. You'll be a shoe-in for approval and I'm sure your GML will appreciate you making it an easy one. Excellent work!

Here's my Altmanns on me: The XO is right in that the SC is a smaller bucket and what's important is how it fits on you. Maybe a good idea would be to post up in your garrison boards to the local scouts and see if you can try a bucket on. That way you're sure to know. Looks like you got a host of 'Bama scouts in your garrison and I'm sure they'll be happy to chime in. Again what's most important is how it fits and looks on you when suited up.

I'm just about three inches taller and I love my Altmanns! There is a great thread over in the armory discussing all the Scout lids available. Give it a look see it's a great reference.

I totally agree and I did the same. I saw in a couple of troop pics that my bund was drooping below my chest armor and I hated that so I added Velcro to the inside of my chest piece to hold the bund firm and right at my belt line. Now I can drop to a knee and meet the kiddos at their level and not look like I just tussled with an Ewok war party😀 We're Pathfinders so we always have to look our best!

I keep mine in my crate. I had a custom bag made for it by Sgt Carida on the 501at boards but it's a soft model and I want to keep it protected so in the crate it goes.

Willkommen bei den Pfadfindern Boris! I have an Altmanns helmet but I hear good things about the MLC. There is lots to learn here and it sounds like you've got a good start. I also encourage you to reach out to your local garrison there in Germany (www.501st.de) and sign up for the forums there. That will connect you with Pathfinders that are local to help you along on your journey and we're here for you too.

I would give that washer/elastic a tug and if it doesn't cut loose on you I wouldn't worry about it. I've never seen that part of the rivet come out. I used the Stanley steel rivets for my holster, belt, and knees and I didn't have any issues like that occur. I would avoid using the aluminum or plastic rimmed rivets as the steel is much stronger.

Welcome to the Pathfinders! I happen to be building a WTF scout for my son and I can tell you that although it's nice I don't think it will fly for you Nichole. The helmet wouldn't make the cut at our level and the chest piece would require a significant mod to fit your body type. The problem there is the cut out for the neck area. It's just not wide enough nor is the chest deep enough for an adult and I just don't think it would be comfortable for you. As Stasz mentioned you could piece together your set using say the bicept, forearm, belt, and knees from the WTF set with a chest/back/tank from SC and a helmet from one of the manufactures listed in the armory. The nice thing about the SC is that it is totally customizable to fit a lot of body types. There are many scout here that are smaller than I at 5'8" that are wearing that kit and they like it and look good in it. Hope this helps you and best of luck with your build. Keep asking questions! To give you a comparison here's my son, Shepherd, with the chest piece. Shepherd is 8 and is around 4' tall.

You got a whole det here wanting you to be successful with your build and it's looking really good so far. In that first pic it seems that your flight suit is bunching above your boot line. I got the idea from other scouts to sew elastic stirrups into the bottom of your suit to keep everything tight when you get the suit and boots on. If you're still sewing that might be something you want to consider. Keep up the great work it's awesome to see it coming together. Take it slow and easy and be methodical and it will pay off. Nice looking Scout! I agree with Jason it looks like the leg straps sit around your knee armor and you'll probably want to shift those up a touch higher on your thigh. Also, it looks like I can see a touch of your chin in the second photo. Is your balaclava up high enough? I ask because that's what tripped me up on my first run through. One other item which is a nit to me is in that third photo your TD looks to be cocked up at an angle from your belt and might need a slight adjustment. I don't see any issues clearing basic at all really nice work Nick!!

Sure thing! You can use a piece of duct tape as your depth guide. Just wrap it around the bit. As I mentioned you want to keep the cuts shallow. Anything to save someone a visit to the ER that I had. Doc: "so what were you doing again?" me: "uh cutting my boot soles for my Biker Scout" Doc: "riggghhhhttt"

Oh psssft! We're not short we're just height challenged:lol: The SC will work fine for you as well. As I mentioned there is a bit of trimming to fit your body type as you want the armor to look good on you but it will work just fine and it's not as hard as it sounds. Heck if I can do it anyone can. We're here to help all of you to be successful and get approved. Now go get your armor ordered and start your build threads!

That's a good reference right there! Yeah keep it to the SS IV pattern as that's the movie look you want. Keep your cuts a touch shallow as they are not very deep in your reference photos. Watch your fingers! Xactos will go through the boot rubber and your finger with nary a blink. I got 8-10 stitches for that bonehead move. Just a lesson learned I thought I'd share. If you have a dremel you can use a routing bit to get that look too.
