  1. Willkommen bei den Pathfinders Andy!
  2. New picture with pouches repositioned. My apologies for my belt not being straight This was right before starting a troop and I didn’t have a chance to check myself before a mirror yet.
  3. That’s a beautiful helmet! If I may ask where did you get the maquette scout that’s behind it? That would look great in my scout collection.
  4. I’m 30+ troops using my Texas Steers and they have been great. Comfort is very important especially for your feet so go with what you feel is most comfortable for you. The sole color is important if you plan to submit Lancer at some point so keep that in mind. I went with one of the vendors (fellow scout) in the Trade Forum and he did a great job and I couldn’t be happier with them. I had him make the parts and then assembled them myself.
  5. We're all Just one big pathfinder fam! I wish our riding patches were this staightforward though.😄 Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  6. ABS please. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  7. Roger that. I will adjust and resubmit a front portrait.
  8. One thing to keep in mind is that the TB is three layer suit. Four if you include your undershirt. You have the flightsuit, vest, bund then chest armor over that and a belt around your waist. After troops I'm soaked and so is the inside of my armor. I'm in AZ so that's part of the territory but Todd is right you might want to avoid thick cloth for your suit. I had my redkap tailored but it still feels a bit heavy and I am hunting for a lighter weight material to work with. Racing suits can fit the bill but nomex doesn't breathe and can be dangerous when you're trooping in the heat. Make sure you consider the environment you're trooping in and pick the fabric that will keep you comfortable.
  9. You can ensure a good fitting by checking the fit and then wrapping the shoulders in painters tape and use that to adjust. Another thing I recommend is to glue some backing ABS to the front and back pieces where the side straps will go. Over time that area is prone to cracking and the additional thickness will strengthen that area. I had to go back and repair my SC using that method. Keep up the great work!
  10. I agree. The seem a tad longer and maybe a bit thinner. Also noted they look to have a black line (stitch) pattern as well.
  11. I thinks that's going to be tough. Those little buggers are usually ringed with teeth to hold them to the fabric. Maybe you could sew a small disk of black fabric over them to camouflage them. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
  12. Some additional reference pics. Note the red decals on the belt boxes and back of the helmet. The snout is pretty interesting too. One other item is that there doesn't seem to be a "v" on the front belt box like the ROTJ scout.
  13. Drop by the trade forum I'm sure you'll find a good vendor.
  14. I don't think those will fly for Lancer sir. You can find the 3M bolts in the Trade Forum from KW designs. The current ones you are sporting are fine for basic but they look black rather than the light grey of the required 3M bolts and don't have quite the right shape. I would recommend against getting them via Amazon as those bolts are usually the upgraded type and they won't match. If you are in proximity to a weld supply store you can always check there just in the event they might have some older stock.
  15. Woot! Time to pop some popcorn and get to it!
  16. Shoot me a PM Tyler I think I have an extra set I can part with.
  17. Good job so far and that was a good idea to use a pair of old jeans. The patches look a tad long in the front and back so you might want to trim them back a bit. Here are some pictures of my patches that might help.
  18. Thank you very much for the kind words Constantin. I know my costume well because of Pathfinders like you, Mickey, Jim, Chef, and others that have gone before me. You all set the example to follow. I will break out the costumes book tonight, check your Lancer thread and start sewing a new cod. I'll resubmit my front photo when that is complete. If there are any close ups or further clarifications needed please let me know and I will provide those as well. Thank you and the team for taking the time to review and comment on my armor I appreciate it.
  19. I use a Magic Eraser to clean the scuffs off of my armor and boots after every troop. Darn Sandtroopers almost always bump into me during troops leaving marks.

  21. Best place to begin your research is over in the Armory. There you'll be able to check out all the parts that go into the costume and learn how they go together. Strider has an ongoing build thread where he's building a set to Lancer Spec and there is a ton of information there. The information there will help guide you in what to do and also what not to do as you make your way to approval. Most folks start with their boots, balaclava, and gloves and move out from there. If you have a sewing machine you can sew your own softgoods using the patterns and guidance found here. There a quite a few armor makers so research is the key to find the maker that fits you. We're here to help you be successful so head out and start checking out the wealth of information here. Post up any questions in the related forums we have a host of folks here that will be happy to point you in the right direction.
