My guess? Glue dried up and they fell off.

The pouches should be 6x5x2 to be the most accurate. We used to encourage people to modify them based on their own body proportions but the results were all over the place. We highly recommend going with the standard size, especially if you plan on going for Level 2 at some point. Great work on your build so far!

Examples of how to mount a lens in a WTF helmet?
BikerScout007 replied to dhstarwars's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Never mounted a lens in a WTF, but for the ones I have put lenses in, I've found it's best to use hot glue and to only glue the sides of the lens, not the top and bottom. Hot glue dries fast, holds well, and is easy to undo if you need to make corrections. Leaving the tops and bottom of the lens unglued gives you a little bit more air as well as ensuring you can lift the faceplate up all the way.- 3 replies

Looking to print a ROTJ Scout Trooper
BikerScout007 replied to Rogue81's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I'm going to tag @MrPoopie and he can help you with this. He printed one for @MrsPoopie. -
That would certainly make things easier on soft goods makers wouldn't it? But all I can say is "it depends". 501st CRLs are always based on what appears on screen. And while pre-production photos are helpful for getting information, if they differ from what was on screen, then we go with what is on screen. So in other words, if you can find an instance of a trooper in the film with no diamond pattern, then we'd be onto something. But if it's only something that was prototyped, but not the final product, we go with the final product. A perfect example of this is the Biker Scout holster. We have tons of pre-production photos that show that the holster was strapped to the boot. In fact, the original Kenner toys have this detail, because those photos were what was given to them in order to make the toys. However, when production started they realized the straps weren't working and ended up riveting the holsters to the boots. Because that's what ended up on screen, that's what we go with -- riveted holsters. So if we can dig up some shots from the film that have no diamond patches, I'm happy to discuss this further.

I like a little bit of a return edge -- it just adds a touch of class to the armor. But you're going to want to trim that down some so it doesn't bite into your shins too much.

Thanks for finally taking the plunge! We are here for you

I think it's something that could go either way. Nothing we could definitively require for Level 2 though. There has to be a seam on the sleeve somewhere!

Just a few things I noticed while examining a high rez version of the production photo: and and

I used that stuff. It was fine.

Ziptied Shoulder Bells: A tutorial
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'll check my tool kit when I get home from work, but they were all very standard sizes. I bought a bag of 100 ziptie anchors from China for $2. The zipties were medium length. I'm not sure on the widths off hand. -
Yeah I used a walnut brown for the undercoat on my armor.

Kripton Top Etsy Shop Questions
BikerScout007 replied to mickeymark34's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Christian (aka Cucblack or CB) is not on the Vendor list because he was banned from selling here. While his stuff is top notch (I myself wore his vest for years), he had shipping issues a few years back that resulted in several transaction fails that were never rectified. Until they are, we can't in good conscience add him back to the vendor list. From what I understand, his Etsy dealings have been good, although it is HIGHLY recommended you ask for FedEx shipping. -

Hey James! Welcome to the fun. The Shoretrooper was a lot of work but it's a great costume and I love mine. Your emblem looks like it had a little bleed on the stencil? You might want to redo that, and while you're at it... check out the latest on the emblem color We look forward to your build!

BikerScout007 replied to Ruthar's topic in CHiPs Deployment Request
Okay @Ruthar This looks really great. Only thing I'm seeing: 1) I don't see the tube that should be running inside the left back greeblie. You can see it clearly on the Shoretrooper: http://databank.501st.com/databank/File:Back_greeb_left.jpeg It can also be seen on the Hot Toys Patrol Trooper. Should be an easy fix for a guy as talented as you! Or, maybe a different angle of the greeb will show that it's there. Overall, well done!
