  1. Make sure to go by the CRL and not the video game. A lot of short cuts are taken when rendering 3d models for games.
  2. The WTF helmet doesn't score very high in accuracy and I'm not sure getting too nitpicky with it is going to lead to better results or just more frustration. At some point you gotta say "good enough" and more onto the next thing!
  3. The original helmets had that jawline taper, it's just more exaggerated on the WTF. Also, the screen helmets did not perfect join up on the sides either. Though you may want to tweak yours a bit so the gap is not that wide
  4. Holster Gloss white or semi-gloss. Moderate to heavy desert-brown toned weathering. Attached to the outside of the right boot with 1⁄8 inch rivets or similarly-sized Chicago screws. The blaster pistol fits into the holster. Change is in!
  5. I put in for the CRL change. Should go through in a few days. Thanks for bringing our attention to this.
  6. Looks like you've made a good case for adding Chicago screws to the Mandalorian Scout CRL.
  7. Well Dennis beat me to it, but that's pretty sound advice he just posted. RS Props armor is great and if that's in your budget, go for it. If you don't want to do soft goods yourself, Chef is a great vendor to turn to. Besides being in the UK, he also keeps up with the L2 standards and makes sure his stuff meets them. And on top of that, he was Detachment Leader here before me so he knows a little bit how this 501st thing works!
  8. It would have to be "close enough" for basic approval. We have the E-11B for the Shoretrooper so you can check the requirements there: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ST_shoretrooper As for the Patrol Trooper, no it wouldn't be allowed. Particularly in UKG where they are extra strict on screen accuracy during troops.
  9. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Optional: A white chin cup is present in the helmet. We don't require it, not even for Level 2.
  10. Updated to include the photo names. I'll work on giving some of them more descriptive names this week!
  11. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to announce two new additions to the team: Michael "@Shore_2_Keeli" Davis is joining as a new PR Officer. Michael is current PR officer of Rancor Raiders Garrison as well as an enthusiastic Shoretrooper. Joe "@Minimo" Mendoza is joining the Armor Team as a Shoretrooper specialist. Joe hit the ground running with his build, already achieving Level 2 status, and he's been paying it forward with new troopers ever since. Welcome Michael and Joe!
  12. @Hask @MrPoopie @Ruthar -- any guidance here? I don't think we have any exact measurements -- as we don't have our hands on a production costume. But we have some decent guesses.
  13. You asked for it and we delivered! The Armor Team has compiled all our favorite production reference photos into one easy to find place -- the "Scoutopedia"! No more will you need to scour the forum threads for the "one photo you saw 3 years ago" -- now they are all available at your fingertips. We've divided them into categories so it's easy to find a production reference for the portion of the costume you are working on. This is a work in progress -- more photos will be added as we come across them. And description text will be added to each category to help zero in on the details the photos are showing. For now we are only sticking to production Scout photos -- so references from the filming of "Return of the Jedi". If you're looking for build techniques and the like, there are plenty of references to be found in the WIP portion of the Scout Armory. If this goes well we will try to add reference libraries for some of our other costumes in the future! You may find the link to the Scoutopedia in the "Browse" menu of the title bar. And here is a handy link to take you right there: http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php
  14. That is looking really nice! I'm going to start banging out the CRL so I can see if there is anything needed. @ferra @Jakeputt any thoughts?
  15. Most up-to-date (and accurate) are Mr Paul's files, but there is a $210 (depending on the exchange rate) charitable donation required in order to download them. I bought them myself and I am really impressed with how well done the 3D models are. https://www.mrpaulsshoretrooperbuild.co.uk/the-files/ However, you are totally fine using Sean's files for approval. Several Shoretroopers have gotten approved with them.
  16. Excellent, Jeremy! Make sure you update your profile to add in all your 501st info and I'll upgrade you to Pathfinder access!
  17. There are way more instances of an open collar in the film than there are neck seals. Everybody calm down, we still aren't adding it to the CRL
  18. I'm thinking it's the balaclava. Since the balaclavas were part of a dickie the performer wore under everything else (yes even MORE layers) I imagine it would flare out like that when pulled down.
