Hello! Thoughts about my costume for approval?
BikerScout007 replied to Aurel's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Cummerbund height looks fine. It should be the same size as the pouches, which it is. Your belt is on your waist, which is also where it should be. I don't see any issue there at all. Observe a production costume. You can see the height of the bund and just high up the belt is: If you could, insert some fabric stiffener into your codpiece to give it some support. That will help keep its shape. Looks good overall! Nice work. -
That's awesome man! Don't forget, armor party in January!

To all the Scout Troopers, Shoretroopers, Kashyyyk Troopers, Patrol Troopers, Mountain Troopers and (future) Treadspeeder Drivers, I wish you all a happy and safe holiday! Thank you for making the Pathfinders the best Detachment in the Legion! 2021 saw our first steps back into the Galaxy after the 2020 lockdown, and I look forward to 2022 being an even better year! We've got lots of great things in store for the future. Pathfinders Lead the Way!

Here's a dropbox link if anyone is looking for it. It's basically Sean's template with some slightly different proportions https://www.dropbox.com/s/v388aa09ix83u50/ST_hip_armor_template_remix.pdf?dl=0 -

Hey I made an updated version of the template to make it a little more accurate. Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you! -
On behalf of Pathfinders Command I am pleased to announce the addition of a new CRL to the roster: The Kashyyyk Officer as seen in Battlefront 2! @yoshixworked very closely with the Detachment getting this one done, patiently making changes every time we found a small detail that needed adjustment. His hard work has paid off and this CRL is now live. Our first new CB in 6 years! I want to thank the LMO team for squeaking this one in before the end of the year while dealing with several other NTTLs. @mrrikki took lead on it before becoming ill with COVID. I've spoken with him recently and he is doing better, but still feeling symptoms. Let's all keep him in our thoughts. And huge thanks to @Hask for bringing this one in for a landing! Check out the live CRL here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Kashyyyk_Officer

Looking for Lancer Build for ROTJ Scout
BikerScout007 replied to RZill's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
There are numerous build threads in the WIP forum that have Scouts who attained Lancer. But this one is probably specifically what you are looking for: I'd also suggest giving this post a read: -
Needing help with spray paint results
BikerScout007 replied to JBar's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
You know what helmet and armor set also didn't match? The ones used in the film. The helmets were painted Ferrari white. The armor was just left raw. So you're in a fine tradition of things not being 100% perfect. Don't let it stop you from reaching the finish line! -
Ah that's what I thought. He has since corrected them.

Just curious...how old is your kit? I remember one prop maker saw that square and assumed it was a light and made kits that way but that was a LONG time ago. And Chopper is right, it's not okay for basic.

WIP wannabe Lancer by OnkelPaschulke
BikerScout007 replied to OnkelPaschulke's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Also -- don't make loops. Just cut a strip of fabric and glue it over the join. It will fit flush against the armor and you'll have plastic underneath to attach the ziptie anchor. -
Shoretrooper: Grunt - Christina's Build
BikerScout007 replied to TKZombie's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
Sounds good. Maybe @Minimo and @KOtroopercan offer up some pointers as well. And yeah I hate sanding and didn't want to do it either. I ended up coating my blaster with XTC-3D to remove the lines. -
Shoretrooper: Grunt - Christina's Build

Stunt E-22s are allowed for Vanguard. My own E-22 is in that style. I don't have all the LED lights either. The only issue I saw at quick glance was the painted red stripe, which would just need to be removed, and the lack of M plates. If you did the Sean Fields, I have the files for those. -

Nice work! Hope to see your Vanguard application soon -
Okay @Burnsie -- we appreciate your patience. There was a lot to go through and your kit does need a lot of work to bring it up to L2 spec. Please see the list below: Major fixes: 1. The pouch flaps aren't the right shape. They need that taper as in the CRL pic. Will require some sewing. 2. The armor overall is pretty rough. This may be the result of it being second (or third hand?) It requires a series of fixes to get it up to L2: The chest and back need to fit more snug to your body. There's a big gap between your back and the tank when worn. The seam between the back armor and tank needs to be fixed. It's very rough. Needs to be sanded smooth There are cracks on the shin armor that need repair and some of the raw ABS is exposed The "coin slot" on the helmet visor is also very rough and needs to be neatened up. Other CRL issues: 1. The buckles on the leg straps seem to be on the wrong side? And some of the clip greeblies seem to be broken. Please refer to the CRL images 2. Left upper arm greeblie is lacking any detail. Please refer to the CRL images 3. Right upper arm greeblie is all black. Please refer to the CRL images. 4. Dropbox straps are leather cords instead of 1/2 inch straps. They need to be straps as per the CRL. 5. Paint job on the helmet snout looks a little rough. Needs to be sanded smooth and repainted. 6. There should be a bit more weathering on the armor. Some silver paint scrapes and some black/white/gray misting in spots. 7. We can't see if the front and back armor join flush on the sides in any of the photos. It may not be an issue, but we still need to see it. 8. The right glove has a larger hole around the gauntlet greeblie that shouldn't be there. 9. Fit and finish issues: The codpiece is not hanging straight when worn. The pouches should be placed neater when worn. We realize that's a lot and honestly, there could be more small details once the major ones are fixed. We appreciate you taking the plunge and being the first to pursue L2 with the Kashyyyk Trooper. If you need any help from the team, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey @Burnsie! Thanks for posting up the individual photos. We still need some good pictures of you wearing the kit though. Front, back and sides. For L2, it's important we see how the gear fits you as well as how it's all put together. I think you had some up before but the links seem to be broken now. Many thanks!

Congrats, Scot! Or should I say....Scout You've been upgraded to full Pathfinder status. Welcome to the Detachment!
-
The tanks in the film had various identifying marks on them. Probably so they knew what tank belonged to what costume (as they were removeable and held by an elastic strap). We don't call for it so it's not anything you need to worry about!
-
Sounds like it was done right the first time then!

Good job, Scot! I like #4 the best
