  1. Nope. All that matters is that you put the dot on the short side and the rectangle on the long side.
  2. It's not consistent. The hose was held by a ziptie and as such had a tendency to get knocked back and forth inside the TD housing during filming. We ask for it to be balanced as that seems to be what the intent was.
  3. I think they are fairly outdated. I got an SC kit in 2014 and even then some of the info was wrong. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE CRL.
  4. I'll give you one guess which one is going to get you approved
  5. I believe the cod is attached to the flight suit. I'm going to leave the fabric standards the way they are for the time being. If anything I'll just remove them and it will be dealer's choice. I can always just leave it at "white cotton fabric"
  6. Well it's supposed to be that the bund and cod are the same, and the pouches are canvas or duck cloth. To me it looks like they are all made of twill.
  7. When I asked her, Steph said she made the soft goods based on the ROTJ Scout CRL requirements. That doesn't mean that's what she did -- that's just what she said. Looking at that photo @takabon posted -- yeah they all look like the same fabric. The thing with the ROTJ Scout is, you can see at a glance that they are not the same fabric: The bund and cod has a shine and "wrinkliness" to it that the pouches don't have. They also don't weather the same. The pouches seem to absorb weathering, whereas on the bund the weathering almost sits on top of the fabric, if that makes any sense. So....we've got a conflict here. Assuming that the soft goods on the Scout from SDCC were made by Steph, I don't really see any difference in the fabric either. I'm pretty tempted to remove the fabric requirement from L2.
  8. It's a good thing somebody did before they drafted the standards then, huh?
  9. It's tough to tell from the picture, but it looks like there might be enough excess webbing material if you undo that buckle in the back of your belt and stitch velcro to it. What you want is something like this: If there's not enough excess, you would just need to replace the closure straps in the back with ones that were long enough to provide some overlap for the velcro.
  10. So if you remove the buckle and replace it with velcro that should be okay as far as your GML is concerned, correct? Was there anything else?
  11. We lost another good one, Pathfinders. On August 20, 2021, Chris Scott of Central Garrison passed away after complications from a medical emergency. He was an enthusiastic member of the 501st Legion and a Shoretrooper His fiancee, Angie Reed, put it best: Rest easy, Pathfinder. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10158530235823152&set=a.10150668915913152 https://www.messengernews.net/obituaries/2021/08/christopher-a-scott-2/
  12. Dude back in the day there were armor makers that would take 18 months to ship a kit. SC has always been one of the fastest and most reliable vendors out there. Congrats on your Big Brown Box day!
  13. As far as I know, no vendor makes that specific style. For my own tank, I just got a sheet of sticky black vinyl and cut stripes out of it.
  14. Armorers are members of the Detachment with enough proven expertise to be able to help new recruits with their builds. You'll know who they are because they will have an "Armorer" tag on their profile. For the Patrol Trooper costume, the Armorers are @Hask and @Ruthar. We have armorers assigned to the Scout Troopers, Kashyyyk Troopers and Shoretroopers as well. And I fill in everywhere in between
  15. Hey Cody Denis from Armory Shop is the CRL model for the Patrol Trooper. And all of the approved Patrol Troopers in the Legion so far use that kit. So you are totally fine with it. Our Patrol Trooper Armorers @Ruthar and @Hask can answer specific questions about the build. As for joining and approval, that is handled by your local Garrison. Since you are living and presumably will be trooping in Poland, that would be the Polish Garrison http://polish-garrison.pl/
  16. Contact @Chrisx909x. Cheesewhoopy is out of the business as far as I know.
  17. If you can (or your wife can) do it then you should. It's the best way to ensure all the guidelines are followed and that the garments are going to be made to fit you. We have several tutorials on most of the soft goods pieces in the Soft Parts section: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/145-biker-scout-soft-parts/ If you are looking for makers who supply soft goods, check the vendor list:
  18. 1. Your helmet gets approved along with your entire costume. When you are ready to get your costume approved, you reach out to the GML of your local Garrison. See this link: http://www.carolinagarrison.net/?page_id=915 2. The ear holes are cut out. You can either paint the inside black or use black tape, which is what they did on the film helmets. Please check out the Scoutopedia if you want some production references for your build: http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php
  19. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to induct Mike "MikerScout" Mathiau (TB-44365) into the Pathfinders Hall of Fame as a Lancer Scout Trooper! The first to achieve this rank for the "TB - Scout Trooper - The Mandalorian" CRL! Great job, @MikerScout! You have been sent a Certificate of Achievement to your email on file and your picture is being added to the Hall of Fame. Check out TB-44365's application here:
  20. I'm not sure if making one out of foam would solve your problem, as it would need to look realistic enough to meet 501st requirements... and therefore look somewhat like a real gun. If I'm reading those rules correctly, they seem to only allow paper/cardboard/foam swords, axes, knives, etc. Between the blaster's tendency to pull down the boot, fall out of the holster, or get swiped by quickhanded children, I find that for most troops, I just leave it in the bin. And that's even when blasters are allowed. It's more of a pain than anything else and isn't as important to our costume as the E-11 is to the Stormtroopers. Kids aren't going to ask you "where's your gun?" They're going to ask "where's your bike?"
  21. Hey Phil At a quick glance, nothing is really jumping out at me as being an issue. But obviously with the closer scrutiny that comes with a Lancer review, a tweak or two may be needed. But overall, good job! Good luck with your approval and we look forward to your application.
