  1. Welcome! We are here to help you achieve your goals! My biggest piece of advice is get the Jesus Salmeron helmet if you are going the 3D route. There are a lot of 3D helmets available out there and many of them do not meet CRL specs. The Jesus Salmeron bucket does for sure. Here are the helmet requirements. I have put in bold the portion where most 3d printed helmets have failed requirements: Helmet Gloss white or semi-gloss and may be lightly weathered. Lens is black in color and obscures wearer's eyes. Decals are screen accurate: Helmet details created with decals on the originals may not be substituted with actual cutouts, i.e. above the snout area or the trapezoids in the back. If these areas are cut out on the helmet, they must be filled and covered with a decal. Snout greeblie is medium gray and the aerator portion is painted black. Snout recess is painted black. Bolts are either flat or have concave centers Helmet is true to the shape of original screen used helmet. Earholes are cut out -- mesh or paint is not acceptable: Area behind earholes inside the helmet is blacked out, either with paint or tape. No interior white should show from the outside of the helmet when worn.
  2. If you look at the "line" going down the chest armor center, a good rule of thumb is that should be about 6 inches. Or the height of one pouch!
  3. Looks like you are making the chest armor too big. The chest should come down to the bottom of the pectorals and not go down much further. Knees look a wee bit big too Best place for visual references is the Scoutopedia.
  4. Do you have a link to the Etsy page for this Scout you bought? In my experience, there are very few files out there beside MrPoopie and Jesus Salmeron that meet requirements. But I am always ready to be pleasantly surprised.
  5. @MrPoopie any thoughts on this?
  6. Thanks! I don't really follow the comics, so I appreciate the research. I'll speak with the team and see what we can do to make this official.
  7. Do you know what this is from?
  8. This has been moved into its own thread.
  9. Ah gotcha. Careful when you bring in the legs that the thigh strap doesn't droop. That should fit snug. Not tight, but snug enough it doesn't droop down. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  10. I was just coming here to post the Comparison link. We don't rank the armors because that would be seen as a form of endorsement. Given the touchy relationship the 501st and costume vendors have with Disney concerning their intellectual property, we simply provide the information and allow the costumer to make up their own mind.
  11. This list is always being updated. But there are also new vendors popping up daily. If you have someone to add, please let us know who.
  12. Yeah if you look on the list in the first post you'll see Mon cal is one of our approved vendors! Cal makes a great kit.
  13. Happy New Year to all current and soon-to-be Pathfinders! 2022 is looking to be a year where we can look forward to even more trooping, more CRLs (Treadspeeder Driver please???), armor builds and finally meeting up at Celebration Anaheim in May. January 1st always reminds me of my initial steps into the 501st, as it was January 2nd, 2014 that I first signed up for the Pathfinders forum. It was my New Year's Resolution to finally join the 501st Legion after seeing footage of the 2007 Rose Bowl Parade on YouTube. I figured I was turning 40 that year, so it was time to put up or shut up. I'm glad I finally joined when I did. Through all the ups and downs, joining the Legion is one of the best things I've ever done, and spun my life off into a new direction that I never saw coming. So if you are here because you are keeping a Resolution to yourself, let's get you started on your journey! Pathfinders Lead the Way! Mickey Bukowski TB/ST-81974
  14. We keep a list of approved items, including the clips, here:
  15. If you want access to the Legion standard fonts, I believe you need to go through the LMBO. They are in charge of all things branding: merch@501st.com
  16. Cummerbund height looks fine. It should be the same size as the pouches, which it is. Your belt is on your waist, which is also where it should be. I don't see any issue there at all. Observe a production costume. You can see the height of the bund and just high up the belt is: If you could, insert some fabric stiffener into your codpiece to give it some support. That will help keep its shape. Looks good overall! Nice work.
  17. That's awesome man! Don't forget, armor party in January!
  18. To all the Scout Troopers, Shoretroopers, Kashyyyk Troopers, Patrol Troopers, Mountain Troopers and (future) Treadspeeder Drivers, I wish you all a happy and safe holiday! Thank you for making the Pathfinders the best Detachment in the Legion! 2021 saw our first steps back into the Galaxy after the 2020 lockdown, and I look forward to 2022 being an even better year! We've got lots of great things in store for the future. Pathfinders Lead the Way!
  19. Here's a dropbox link if anyone is looking for it. It's basically Sean's template with some slightly different proportions https://www.dropbox.com/s/v388aa09ix83u50/ST_hip_armor_template_remix.pdf?dl=0
  20. Hey I made an updated version of the template to make it a little more accurate. Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you!
  21. On behalf of Pathfinders Command I am pleased to announce the addition of a new CRL to the roster: The Kashyyyk Officer as seen in Battlefront 2! @yoshixworked very closely with the Detachment getting this one done, patiently making changes every time we found a small detail that needed adjustment. His hard work has paid off and this CRL is now live. Our first new CB in 6 years! I want to thank the LMO team for squeaking this one in before the end of the year while dealing with several other NTTLs. @mrrikki took lead on it before becoming ill with COVID. I've spoken with him recently and he is doing better, but still feeling symptoms. Let's all keep him in our thoughts. And huge thanks to @Hask for bringing this one in for a landing! Check out the live CRL here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Kashyyyk_Officer
  22. You can KINDA see the front of it here: This photo, as well as many other great reference shots, may be found in the Scoutopedia: http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php
