TB 10738 LANCER SPEC CLEARANCE (APPROVED)
BikerScout007 replied to Dave Walker's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Yes! Not to sound like your dad but "Pull your pants up, son!" I get that this is merely a "fit and finish" issue -- but that's pretty much what Lancer is! It can't be overstated how close the belt sits to the pouches in the film. Remember this was the 80s, people wore their belts on their waists, not their hips like we do today: -
Well you've certainly done a good job getting that all together. One nit that I can see -- your TD greeblie should look like this: Your t-bit is also a little odd, but pretty close Good luck on the rest of your build!

And a good time was had by all! Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk -
Sateen should work. If it's a smooth white cotton with no pattern on it (like the way twill has a diagonal pattern for instance) then you should be good.

First, welcome to the Pathfinders forum! We are here to help you reach your goals! Okay - I'm getting from your post that you are interested in doing the ROTJ Scout Trooper. So in that case -- no Tie Fighter coveralls are not approvable. The rain boots -- toss those into the garbage compactor. The Kenner blaster -- put that up on a shelf somewhere. That's a collector's item. You'll need an appropriate set of coveralls, scout boots and an EC-17. That Don Post helmet looks like it could use some work too, though it's hard to tell from the photos. It looks like you've got a set of very old SC armor? It seems to be missing some greeblies though. And I'm not sure if your cummerbund and codpiece meet spec. It's hard to tell from that pic. So I'd say first, familiarize yourself with the CRLs, read through some of the WIP threads and figure out where you want to go from there. Here's some great places to get started: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/96-biker-scout-wip/ http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/145-biker-scout-soft-parts/ http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php

Also check the Scoutopedia. There are several pictures of rank bars in the Back Armor section: http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php -
Michael’s Scout Trooper build

There's still a little bit more you can trim along the top. You want to get that curve along the top to run along that ridge. Yours looks a little straight on the left side. Round out those upper corners too. -

Just buy a set of coveralls for the time being. If it's just for Halloween you dont need to worry about the suede patches and extra pockets. You can always fix it up properly later https://www.amazon.com/Kolossus-Deluxe-Coverall-Pockets-Antistatic/dp/B07BK8KRQ3/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=kolossus%2Bcoveralls&qid=1633028687&sr=8-1-spons&smid=A24GILMCOPBAO1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyRE5QRkwyT1dBTjBYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzEyODgxTUIzUTJSNlpDRExGJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2ODMyNDkxU0FVVTZMNEU5V04wJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1&psc=1 This is what most of us do, anyway. Buying from Imperial Boots is easier, but it's not necessarily better or more affordable in the long run. And buy a sewing machine! You'll never get better if you don't try it. I knew nothing about sewing machines before I got started in this crazy hobby and now I make my own garments. -
Questions for studio creations armor
BikerScout007 replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
To echo what Troy said, put...the heat gun....down You don't need that yet and it's doubtful if you ever will. The Scout is mostly a soft costume so your fine tuning will really come with the garments. The armor pieces are held on by straps that can easily be adjusted. The Pandatrooper guide is great. It's a bit dated and some of it is not up to current CRL spec, but it will largely get you through the process. Make sure you check the requirements of the CRL at all times, because that's what your Garrison will be judging you against. -
There's no official template for the dogbone. There may be some floating around that various bootmakers have made over the years. Just do your best to match the screen sources and you'll be fine! http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php

Bear in mind, that even for Lancer, filling the seam is optional Optional: For the 'Back and Cap' style bucket constructions, fill the seam around the top of the dome so it is not visible.

Okay cleaned up your posts. First I put them in the Scout WIP forum so they are in the right place. Then I merged your two separate threads together, and got rid of the double posts. Finally -- we are having an armor party on October 9th. You should come on out!

Congrats, Phil! Thanks for seeing it through to the end. We are thrilled to have you as a member of the family. Be sure to make an access request so I can upgrade you to full Pathfinder status http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/162-access-requests/ Great job!

The strapping was intentionally left off so it would be up to the trooper's discretion. You can use straps, magnets, velcro -- whatever you think works. The knee armor could be an issue for your GML -- it really would depend on them. I personally think it's fine, but unfortunately it's not up to me. If your GML is really strict, I could see them saying you need a different set of knees. Magnets sound great for the tank topper. You are right about the TD. The new requirements allow any configuration as long as the dot is on the short side and the badge is on the long side. So if you switch up your TD for the JFO, it would still be compatible with the ROTJ. I'll have to let someone else chime in here. When I wore my RS with my old SC armor, I just left them as is. Nobody noticed

Nope. All that matters is that you put the dot on the short side and the rectangle on the long side. -

It's not consistent. The hose was held by a ziptie and as such had a tendency to get knocked back and forth inside the TD housing during filming. We ask for it to be balanced as that seems to be what the intent was. -

I think they are fairly outdated. I got an SC kit in 2014 and even then some of the info was wrong. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE CRL. -
