  1. Nice work. I expect a Lancer app from you soon, trooper!
  2. Okay scouts! Some bugs are working their way through the system as we roll the ART program out. This was expected and we will continue to fine tune as we go along. Let me just address a few things and this is NOT about any garrison in particular, as these issues have come up with a few garrisons. I will start with stating the mission purpose of the ART: "The purpose of the ART is to promote the Pathfinder's costumes within the Garrison, help prospective Pathfinders with their builds, encourage older TBs/CBs to stay up-to-date with the Pathfinders CRL and assist current Pathfinders going for Lancer status." So in other words, though there may be a social element to the ART, that is not its purpose. THIS IS A MENTORING PROGRAM FIRST AND FOREMOST. Anyone wanting to start an ART or run one needs to understand that their job #1 is to do what it says above -- help new scouts with their builds help current scouts stay up-to-date with the CRL and assist people trying for Lancer Everything else: meetups, merch and whatnot are secondary. WAY secondary. And this is why we originally were going to have a requirement that the ART founder be a Lancer, because we really want someone who is committed to this costume and absolutely has a passion for it to help their fellow scouts and scout prospects in their garrison. That means a lot of recruiting too. I talk to people in SCG all the time about the scout and let them know that there are resources available to them if they choose to go down this path. Scout Team Six has gone from an initial 25 members to almost 60 since December. You know how many social meet ups we've had in that time? One. Because the point is the costume. Not to start yet another clique in garrisons where there are already several. Next, let me reiterate another rule: One ART per Garrison. So one means one. Not one per squad, one per city, one per block. One per Garrison. So I've been getting "yeah but our garrison is big, how are we going to meet up?" First -- see the above. Meetups aren't the point. Second, Southern California Garrison is a pretty big place geography-wise. It would take hours to drive from one end to another. There are several Scout Team Six members I have never met. It doesn't matter, because I and the others still help them with their builds via our FB group. Because that is what the ART is for. Getting the members the best information and tips quickly to do their builds and offer plenty of encouragement along the way. Because though BS.n is great for info, it lacks the local touch that the ART can provide. Now if folks want to start up little social groups of scouts in their area so they can hang and make little logos and stuff to put on their shoulder bells -- fine! Do it! But that's not an ART and will not be recognized as such by bikerscout.net. If anyone is curious about how our ART operates, please hit me up and I will add you to our FB group. I promise that unless you are really interested in the costume and the process of building one you will be bored to tears! But if you really love this costume and have a passion for it like I do, you may have the right stuff to start an ART
  3. Thank you for your application! We will review and get back to you
  4. The Pathfinders ART does not preclude any type of local group you may or may not start. But the ART is the only one we will associate with. Make sense?
  5. There is no minimum to start an ART. Just a desire to spread the glory of the Pathfinders to your garrison!
  6. Is it a Facebook group and if so, is it secret? I can't find it. When I started ST6, I made it a secret group, but I found it was a pain in the ass to add people I wasn't friends with because they couldn't search for it. So I switched it to a Closed group.
  7. Throw some foam in those pouches to fill them out. or hell, do what I did at first and use plastic sandwich boxes. they work well too. Cod strap might be a little tight. You're getting a bit of the CT. Maybe put some sticky foam behind it to reinforce it But nice job overall. You should be able to clear basic pretty easily
  8. Welcome Scott! You have come to the right place. Not only are the Pathfinders the best in the biz, but the members here are the friendliest and most helpful Scouts lead the way!
  9. Yeah don't know about that one, as fire teams and the like fall outside of 501st officialdom! And if you want to point me in the direction of your ART I'll be happy to join up Do it! Reach out to everyone and start a group. I started a FB group and added the other scouts to it.
  10. Since this is new for all of us we haven't nailed down every procedure just yet. I would say to organize it as best as you can on your end -- reach out to the other scouts, start up a FB group or something similar, and then come to us when you have it as nailed down as you can.

  12. UPDATED 23/2/2024 The purpose of the Advance Recon Team ("ART") is to promote the Pathfinders' costumes within the Garrison, help prospective Pathfinders with their builds, encourage older Pathfinders to stay up-to-date with our CRLs and assist current Pathfinders going for L2 status. So without further ado, here are the guidelines 1. There will only be 1 (one) ART per Garrison/Outpost. Once an ART has been established in your local Garrison, contact a member of Command Staff to have it added to the list of ARTs. In the case where more than one ART is being setup at the same time in the same Garrison, that issue must be worked out by the Garrison members before 501st Pathfinders will acknowledge an ART for that Garrison. There can only be one! 2. Permission must be sought from your local Garrison CO to form an ART. 3. Our preference is that the ART should be founded by a Pathfinder with Level 2 status or at least someone with an active L2 Application, but this is NOT a requirement. 4. It is up to the ART to decide how to organize itself (leadership, subgroups, etc.) 5. It is up to the ART to decide how to create its web presence (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, or space on the local Garrison/Outpost's website) Pathfinders will not provide forum space for ARTs to operate as we are a little over-forumed anyway. 6. Pathfinders will provide an ART forum where we Lay out the guidelines; Provide a list of active ARTs for each Garrison/Outpost; and Indicate who the point of contact is for each ART. This will make it easy for new members to find the ART for their Garrison. 7. Any logos or merch created for the ART cannot be identified with either the 501st or the Garrison/Squad to which the members belong. This is in accordance with Legion rules. 8. In the case of a Facebook group, a member of 501st Pathfinders Command Staff and your Garrison Command Staff should be made a member, so we/they can assure that everything is running according to Legion/Detachment guidelines and that the best advice is being given. 9. The Pathfinders command staff will not moderate ART groups. Issues related to conduct should be relegated to the respective Garrison. 501st Pathfinders reserves the right to disassociate itself with any ART at any time. Your local Garrison Command Staff can rescind the permission for your ART or impose restrictions as they deem necessary. So be cool, everybody. This is supposed to be fun! 10. ART's are run at the discretion of the local Garrison. They are not intended to replace or circumvent the normal functions of your local Garrison, including but not limited to, clearance standards and procedure, event generation/coordination/attendance, hierarchy and discipline. 11. And as with everything in life, these guidelines are subject to change. Now go out there and make us proud. Pathfinders lead the way!
  13. 1.5 works just fine. Sorry we are going to clear up that mess soon
  14. You are off to a good start! Believe me, we have seen worse. Get your app in and then we can give you a more thorough list
  15. The movie tanks were designed to come off and were attached to the back piece with straps. I kinda like a crappy looking tank because it's more screen accurate!
  16. Hey Sumiko Your changes look good! However, an issue has come up that everyone on the review team has pointed out and that's your holster boot is sagging pretty badly. Not sure if your blaster is really heavy (resin maybe?) but you need to find some way to reinforce it so it doesnt crumple like it is. Maybe some velcro straps inside of it to keep it close to your leg?
  17. SC helmet would be good for you. They are also a bit on the small side
  18. Just remember, when in doubt, follow the three rules: 1) Watch the movie 2) Watch the movie 3) Watch the movie
