You can do whatever you want to your costume. Now whether your Garrison allows you to troop in it is entirely up to them. In my Garrison, where they expect us to follow the CRL, they would not go for it. Our Scout CRL is made to match Return of the Jedi, we typically don't change it to address the video games, though we have added the sniper rifle.

Looks like an easy pass for Basic. And just a few nits to clear up for Lancer. My biggest nit is the pouches being crooked. And the bund going past the belt in the back. Well done.

Removing the zippers from Esprit gloves. How?
BikerScout007 replied to kurtyboy's topic in Shoretrooper Soft Parts
I just did this earlier this year. You just cut the fabric holding the zipper in. No need to tear the glove apart. -

It's by far the most screen accurate out there! Can't say enough good things about it. And I guess I'll have a SC kit for sale soon -

Strapping the armor was pretty easy. Strider cuts the slits for the elastic very thin so the slit itself holds the strap very well. All I did was add some hot glue on the inside to hold it down. Which is great because I didn't want to mess with velcro. And of course, I riveted the extra strap to the knee I made that top strap 11 inches, but your mileage may vary Here are all the pieces strapped up: -

First thing up was the shoulder bells. I put thin elastic straps in the middle of the bell, mounted on zip tie anchors. The straps are supposed to stabilize the bell, not secure it to your arm. What holds the bell in place are the ziptie "t-straps". So I add this to the top of the bell, with about 1.5 inches of the zipties protruding past the bell Then on top of the connector, I put industrial velcro loop Then on the underside of the chest armor straps, I add the industrial velcro hook Once I connect the bell to the shoulder velcro, it holds very well! -

Oh and the shoulder bell comparison. Strider on top versus my heavily modified SC bell on bottom -

Okay, I got the rest of my kit. It looks great: And here is a comparison with my old SC pieces. SC is on top, Strider on the bottom. Sorry I couldn't rotate it after uploading And my favorite improvement from SC, bigger knees! Strider on left, SC on right -
Paint Recos for Armor / Helmet "White"

The Costumes book mentions the exact paint used but I can't remember offhand. I think most of us just use a gloss white. -
My 3D Printed Scout Blaster
BikerScout007 replied to ForesterDesign's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Weapons
Why wouldn't it be good for Lancer? Unless it varies greatly from the movie blaster, you should be fine. EDIT: Of course that drilled barrel and scope would need to be filled in.... -
The SC indeed does not have a return edge. Many armors do not. But you can get Lancer with SC armor or any of the others as long as you meet the other requirements. I know this for a fact, as I got Lancer with SC armor. Some folks have gone so far as to add a return edge by CAREFULLY applying heat, but it is not a necessity and won't prevent you from achieving the Lancer rank.

Chef's armor is more accurate. Also being in Europe it may be a quicker turnaround. SC armor is very popular because it ships quick and their customer service is top notch, but they are not as accurate. Check out this thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=17774

BikerScout007 replied to Specter240's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The armor makers aren't in the habit of giving away the dimensions of their stuff because they are in the business of selling armor. I would get with a Scout in your future Garrison and try to work out the dimensions with him/her. -

Like Griif said, it has to be one shade There is nothing stopping you from painting the soles though

It definitely helps to buy the Long version of your size if you can. The RedKap is known to be a bit short in the torso, which causes some uncomfortable tightness in the crotch area and a pull on your shoulders. I did buy my regular size, just in Long
-
You have to split the leg open on the other side so you can get the inside of the leg to lie flat. Then sew that outside of the leg back shut, hopefully a little tighter, because the RedKaps are a bit baggy
