  1. I'm not aware of any issues with the MC that would disqualify it. We are very lenient with the armors that are available, there may only be a few that wouldn't pass at all. And even then it's not entire set but only a piece here, a piece there....
  2. Yes they are. He really did a fantastic job Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  3. I would definitely put it right behind Strider as most accurate!
  4. No we have so far not decided on exact colors for the Scout. It's been kept broad because 1) we don't know for sure, like we do with the Shoretrooper, which exact colors were used and 2) it makes it easy for people in different countries who don't have access to the same paints. Just match the colors as best as you can!
  5. Did you ask RS Props? They might tell you what paints they used. They have been painting the helmets with a matte white, which I understand is not correct, but I don't know about their black and gray. According to the Costumes books, the helmets were painted Ferrari white, but any gloss white would do. A lot of folks use satin black for the snout and then a medium gray for the aspirator.
  6. I should point out that the Tour Gauntlets are often sold on eBay as "Biker Scout gloves" but they are not the same and have some slight variations from the Rain Gauntlets. They seem close enough to pass if someone were to buy a pair and cut off the leather strap on the back. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Esprit-leather-gauntlet-gloves-Biker-Scout/122681681636?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D49452%26meid%3D837fe9c4cf204843967a4c2bfdf66da6%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D391780769561&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%253A576a8c5c-df69-11e7-82c8-74dbd18044f9%257Cparentrq%253A4bf644cb1600ab6b34bbf291fff27f46%257Ciid%253A1
  7. The Esprits are clunkier. But that's the difference between wearing a costume glove and a glove that is actually made for extreme weather conditions. The Esprits are still comfortable as hell and I wouldn't trade mine for anything. Except maybe a nicer pair
  8. Yours look nice! Mine were really rough but I was able to restore most of the color with some Fiebings.
  9. Ha yeah the struggle is real!
  10. Shoot him a PM http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=78390 I should also note that I have a big dome myself and the RS Props lid fits great. I had a KS before and that was also a good fit
  11. I don't have his info and not sure if he's even in the business anymore, but there are a whole crop of new helmets out there since LW was in his hey day. RS Props makes one which is a direct descendant from a screen used, Strider's helmet is fantastic, Spike's lid is known for big-dome friendliness. So you got options!
  12. Welcome!
  13. For copyright reasons we don't post a list of vendors. Google searches and well placed private messages will get you the answers you seek! Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  14. The bund stays white. Its only the pouches you need to worry about Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  15. Here's me (on the left) all kitted up in my Strider gear, other than the holster which is still SC. This is a pretty good comparison photo too. The Scout on the right is wearing an MLC bucket and SC armor, so you can see the differences between my RS Props bucket and Strider armor Also, we are both 6 ft tall, and this pic serves as a good example that 7x6 pouches are too big. Mine are 6x5x2
  16. Griffin beat me to it The 1.5 webbing is a pain for sure! Sometimes it's easier to find the off white stuff. Which is a totally good option if you plan on tea-staining your pouches to match.
  17. I guess the Scout gloves are called Rain Gauntlets!
  18. I don't think the issue is the length of the butt flap. Looks more like the thigh elastic may be an inch or so too high. But hard to tell without the armor on
  19. What can't you find?
  20. In the movie, the pouches are sewn to the cummerbund. There is a 2 inch connection flap that is sewn down, starting at the top of the bund. You can see how it's connected pretty well here I velcro my pouches to my bund so it's easier to remove them for washing
  21. It's not specified because we wanted to allow some flexibility for different sized Scouts. An inch seems the norm
  22. A few things in this thread don't apply anymore, but it's still a great primer on SC armor builds http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781
  23. How old is your son? If he's a kid, then reach out to Walt's Trooper Factory https://www.facebook.com/groups/waltstrooperfactory/ If he's an adult then read up in the forums and determine the best one for him. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showforum=143
