  1. Looking good trooper, best of luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  2. You can buy these at any army surplus. But SC included them in my kit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  3. SC included padding that I used for my bucket and they work well for me. I have thought of using a hard hat liner for it. I use those for other helmets like my mando buckets. I just use e6000 and tape them into place until the glue sets. Then I may add a glue border around the seams in hopes it holds up. So far it's been successful but I admit a pain in the ass job. I can see a scout bucket easier to do this with because you can lift the face for work room inside. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  4. Looking good trooper. Other than what was mentioned, maybe twist the arm pads in line with the bicep pads. Looks like the rectangle on the lower chest needs the decal or grey paint. And like mentioned handlers/wranglers are usually around to help straighten out odds and ends. Keep up the good work!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome to the forums. Post pics and questions and we will be happy to help you along the way. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  6. I left mine unattached. I eventually glued the top. As the bolts loosen over time, the visor and mask would separate some. But if the bolts are tight enough, it won't slip much and your visor will normally stay in the up position if you raise it for fresh air. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  7. As far as trimming, to fit your size you may need some more outside the shoulders here and there, but Jeff does a great job that all I really needed to do with my SC kit was sand the edges smooth and round. I am lanky as well as scrawny so my bells were actually perfect for my ape arms, but I have seen that with shorter people, they look huge. A female scout I troop with had this problem as well. Half inch is what she and her husband too off and they were perfect. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  8. Potty before you troop. I know that doesn't work all the time. And for a guy, it's not as easy as a simple unzip like in jeans. We also have to remove the belt and cummerbund. This is why I have coined the term poop before you troop. (That phrase is trademarked by Bubonos INC and not to be used w/o written authorization and consent of before mentioned parties) But I know a few ladies go with a two piece. This is a real good idea. I know it can be much harder for a female to hold it in from what I see as a father of two girls. I like the flight suit look better and many scouts do as well. So like mentioned above, may be invest in both as you can afford it. But go for whatever you feel would be more comfortable for you to start. A couple hour troop goes by before you know it, and other troops may not give you time to stop to potty. So go when you get there is always the best idea and be considerate about the amount of fluids you take in during the troop. It gets HOT in Louisiana, and some events we need to keep water close by. You also see troopers come and go the whole time for bathroom breaks. We can change in under 5 minutes, but a TK takes much longer. So I feel if I pee less, we will have a trooper present for fans most of the time. Unrelated topic, I'm extremely ADHD and tend to wonder off to play with attendees of said event. So a trooper present may not always be the case trooping with me if your costume requires lots of breaks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  9. The cod looks much better and great idea on the pouches, I lined mine with cardboard from a couple six inch black series scouts. Figured it was only fitting. I would take a half inch to an inch off the bells, they are a tad big on you. But really, all and all, it's looking great. Keep up the good work and updates and approval will be a breeze. 10. I set it on warm or your lowest setting. Add temp as you feel is needed. Also, put the lens on a block of wood or something. Stay close, and check it in a few minutes. This was a tip my buddy Dewka taught me and it worked like a charm. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  11. I put my sc lens in the oven for a min and that worked for me. I didn't have a heat gun. The oven also comes in handy building your boots. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  12. Looks great trooper! Don't forget to paint the black around the snout like I did at first! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  13. These are the parts we are referring to Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  14. Defiantly a great start! As mentioned, the grey decal or grey paint needs to be added to the chest rectangle and the t's need to be added to the bicepts. If you can, can we get some back shots and top of the tank as well as back of the bucket? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  15. Too tall by a tad and the cod looks too wide. You maybe able to fix the sagging off the top with suspenders. I have bad sagging issues and suspenders fixed that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  16. The cummerbund looks a little too big on you. I have a small frame as well and commissioned a friend in my garrison to help make mine. She had to make adjustments to fit me away from the pattern we found in bns. Great start and the pouches do look great! Coming along nicely. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  17. Looking good trooper Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  18. I have worn sunglasses under my bucket at many troops. That Louisiana Sun can be hot and bright and the tented lense doesn't always cut it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  19. SC bucket isn't that far from $200 I wanna say. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  20. Mine are SC so I'm not sure how helpful I was. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  21. Hope this helps side bottom one inch side top 3 inches Top side 3 inches Bottom side 1 inch The bottom taper down to about half an inch the top tapers in to about a quarter inch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  22. I'd say go natural personally. It took lots of trooping and a few years of it, but my armor is scratched, chipped and dirty. I look like I have been fighting Ewoks in a forest rather than the black carbon scoring lots of scouts go with. If you want to speed along the natural look, get fine grid sandpaper and scuff up the armor and rub dirt in. Wipe it clean and most of the scuffs will keep the dirt while the rest of the armor cleans up some. I have hugged trees and even climbed trees in costume among other silly things I've done for a laugh trooping. This has weathered my armor for me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  23. Flight suit: redcap My soft parts were commissioned Gloves: wampa wear Assembly of armor: I have SC armor and followed their instructions, studied other builds here and watched hours of YouTube videos on my Xbox. There are some decent wip videos there. Also make your own build thread to post pics of your progress and we will be happy to give pointers along the way. You may luck up and find a member in your garrison who commissions soft parts for costumes such as officer hats who maybe willing to tackle that and we have members here who also commission soft parts. 24. Looking good trooper! Seems the others have pointed out the boxes and buckles, so no need to harp on that. You're about ready to kill some Ewoks brother! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
  25. Honestly I just shaped the edges. I didn't cut at all, but sanded my edges down and rounded them better. My armor came cut well, Jeff did a nice job making the armor. So when I got my big brown box, I was close to able to throw it together right then. But some edges here and there throughout the kit needed some sanding. From your pic, it seems you have the right idea if they aren't already pretrimed. Unfortunately I'm not near my tote to supply pics at the moment but will try to post or pm some later.
