  1. What did you use for a head mount? I remember you said you were gonna try a few... Also did you get all your extra stuff in there? (My 2 fans + battery pack, & mic all fit in with my head mount but it's a tight fit... Also my head is the size of a huge watermelon )
  2. This is how the pouches go as far as I can tell: LoL I'm not a small waist (36.6) or a small chest (41)... So how come everything looks so bunched together unlike most of yours? (Is that just cause it's flat and not around my body maybe?)
  3. Well, I got more of a brown then a tan or kahki... Walmart didn't carry anything even close to being good. My lil one was home sick so I got a ton of work done on my cummerbund while she was sleeping... I still need to ad the Velcro for the pouches but I need to "place by numbers" LoL (I just need to take a look and make sure I put all the pouches in the right areas) I have the closure in the back only with Velcro right now but I will have a zipper there as well. The waist belt is connected with 4-5 snaps I have hidden under the straps. (Thinking of adding snaps to the top and to my BDU shirt so it doesn't try to ride down) What do you guys think?
  4. 501st website says we have 26 BARC troopers in service at moment
  5. Looks good man gues your gonna be #28 or whatever we are at now
  6. Looks great man, mines almost ready but I put on a huge Canada Day party today with 20 people + kids so I didn't get any work done yesterday or today
  7. I think the cummerbund looks great as well! I still need to add a new zipper on the back of mine, plus ad the middle belt to it (then the Velcro) Very nice though good job
  8. I meant the plastic chest piece of armor... One of the guys recently pointed out that there is a lip at the bottom of it most peopl keep cutting off (Mines kinda short but it's there:))
  9. I thought I had something at work that would work for the shin straps but I guess not... My local fabric store doesn't seem to Cary anything tan or kahki either so I'm kinda SOL right now... Maybe I'll find a backpack in a store and cut it off that
  10. Question about your chest piece, Did you leave the little lip at the bottom?
  11. Comm: I have a fellow BSN member from the UK sending me some since the eBay seller doesn't ship to Canada Bselph: yes that's exactly what I'm doing, the brown spots are just a bit bigger now (not bu much) so I can cover all the orangish-brown
  12. Grumpy: belt is hold up.. Still haven't connected it to the cummerbund cause I'm not complete that yet, but ie twiste the hell out of it and the glue is holding up good (Can't say the same for my paint job) The paint test I did dried to a nice brown, but after I let it dry on my armor (ALL my armor!) it dried too light and was nearly orange! So now I only have half my armor painted brown (put some black in with it to make a nice brown like seen on screen) and the other half an orangish-brown. (Oh I have my oatmeal riding patch being sent soon so the only thing I need are the shin straps... I thought work would have some but guess they don't have tan or kahki)
  13. I swear I didn't laugh as I read this... All while thinking this could very well be something I do LoL, I made a big boo boo as well... Messed up with the paint Ref my WIP post
  14. I got my brown coat painted on today... Waiting till the weekend to put the green on.... Hopefully the thin layer of masking fluid will rub off when the green is dry. (If I can find/remember where I put the masking fluid on) I'm putting the brown and green on pretty close and thick because that's what I see in the Ref pictures:
  15. They weren't named Kashyyyk troopers (which ever game I'm thinking of) But they were by looks... I'll get back to you guys once I talked to my nephew and see what games he has
  16. I believe we use a sniper rifle in one of the games, so it would still be cannon... BattleFront 2 if I remember, I'll ask the nephew, he has the game. But that sure looks like a wicked rifle, I have WC's DC-15L Rifle and love it, just make sure to check with your detachment to see if you can troop with it (again I would think since it's in the games it can be considered cannon, well if that's the right rifle anyways)
  17. I cut the small round dowl in half and used one to go on the tip of the rod through the box and the other half on the left side below the thicker end of the rod... I did this because all the ref pics show the rod having a small "cap" and some show the small piece stick out the left side under the think part of rod
  18. Got some of the smaller greebs ready while I wait for the tan coat on the armor to set for a few more days... (This is my grey primer so in getting some ready for their coat of black) Still need to colour the rubber flexible greebs grey as well, but at least I have the hard greebs all good to go
  19. Ok so on the led arm bicep piece the greebs are off center. That's what most of us are trying to figure out is the placement of the greebs and these photos definitely help, thank Matt
  20. Looks good man, hmm I like the camo pattern Matt used for the pouches. I got the kaki coloured ones from him so I can try and air brush the same type of camo pattern on them as I do the armor. Piece by piece you'll get there
  21. Haha, well I got the helmet all sprayed down... Now to give it 3 days to dry and start testing my air brushing camouflage ability
  22. I think we need to get you some medical attention...
  23. Yes please can a few people do this? That would help us newbies around this strange
  24. Well the masking fluid testing went well so I added some "battle scars" to each piece of armor then painted everything tan... Well except my helmet cause I'm an idiot and forgot it was on the shelf and used all my tan paint with 2nd coats on everything. Looks like another run to the store for 1 can of tan
  25. No, it seems you have everything in order... The ONLY greeb you will need to track down yourself (that's not included in BC's armor) is going to be the glove greeb (x 2 of course) Everything else is included. There was a great man that has made gloves for us undeserving hatchlings, but this person sometimes takes a break from making them from time to time. But I believe he is still making the pouches yes. I have WoodChuck's DC-L Rifle and the workmanship is second to none... I your going with *any* type of weapon I suggest you check him out first (the price is well worth the quality) As for the crouch piece... I'm not entirely sure why it's cloth covered either, something to ask and bring up with the senior guys. This is the first armor I've attempted to make and it's been a blast, I love it... But yes it seems it might be a bit tougher than some other builds. Oh yeah and welcome to our neck of the woods!
