Hey guys, heres my remake on the "Stanley 50 Gal Job Chest" Just wanted to share, thought some of you might get the itch to do one of your own as well... Ok so over at CTN I seen IRONFETT had a thread: http://forum.clonetr...ley#entry219454 anyways after seeing what a wicked job he did on his box I decided to do one of my own but with a Kashyyyk twist. (thats my address and phone # in englisha nd then in aruebesh on the top, & "Death Recon" in aurebesh on the front) ("CB 85039" aurebesh) (bottom right in aurebesh says "I fought at Kashyyyk and all I got was this lousy sticker" ) I lined the whole inside with those anti-fatigue mats (4 pack multi coloured) now my armor is nice and protected, plus doesnt get dinged up inside the box. You can pick up one of these box's from Home Depot (Canada or the US) for around $100 It fits a full set of armor plus a lil extra for weapons or emergency repair kit (I've got my whole set plus my DC-15S & L)

Good job on te pattern
-
Email her, do you have it? (I'd have to find it)
-
Yes the British Desert BDU's are the best just make sure you get the cotton ones and not the windproof, the windproof ones dot take dye very well.
-
Yeah I have a helmet bag and that goes into the chest/back with sholders attached, then I divide the shins and the first bunch with the cummerbund then I use the gloves to protect the toe caps.
-
You screwed yours on? I glued mine then just put the black bolts (round covers) where I thought they looked best
-
Good luck man, I know what you mean about timelines. Don't rush it though (I learned the hard way on a few pieces)
-
I have mine on a 5 teer shelf right now, but for transportation I bought a 50 Gal Stanley Job Chest... It's the one you can get a "Laser Engraved Name Tag" made for (think the legion website) Anyways I seem pics of one that a buddy painted all up (sorry it won't upload into my photobucket) So I'm in the middle of painting mine (differently) I bought 2 packs of the kids coloured sponge floor tiles that interconnect (anti fatigue mats I think is another name) That's what I'm useing to line the inside of the box, 2 packs of 4 was the perfect amount to do the insides (top, bottom, & sides) I'll post some pics of where I'm at with it in my WIP tomorrow possibly

your bucket from BC didnt include the "bolt"?
-
ughh I think your talking about the Scout Trooper helmet (This is the Kashyyyk Trooper area) But yes for both, Scout and Kashyyyk both require the specific bolt greeb on the sides as far as I know
-
Nope, they don't exist anymore... Make a stencil and then use that to paint them on if you don't have the study hand.
-
BC has all of them except for the ones under the eyes (just paint them on yourself) Give her a shout

DR's KST WIP (Kashyyyk Scout Trooper)
Death Recon replied to Death Recon's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
thanks Kevin -
Sis you take a look at the CRL thread I pointed you towards? Just follow that and you won't go wrong... Try to get your paint colour as close as possible but we haven't set one specific colour in stone because not everybody will be able to get it. The Tan most of us have used is the "Kylon, camouflage, ultra-flat" The greenwash is as outdated as when we included yellow as part of our camo.

here you go Adie, http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10614 Check out posts #16 & 17 by HeatShock, that the most recent CRL and what we have all been going by to date. There are a few of us that have been after this for a while, some longer than others, but the command staff is working with us (thanks guys) to get the solidified CRL on the 501'st website updated... so now its just a waiting game.

Bicep Armor Difficulty--Your methods?
Death Recon replied to dankelzaga's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
try snaps or foam, or both... I know my Kashyyyk Trooper is different but I have snaps on the inside of my biceps that attach to my undersuit.... I also have a little bit of foam to make the bicep snug with my arm. you cant see either the snaps or the foam and this helps it stay in place. -
Chest armour grey shoulder straps
Death Recon replied to Adie1979's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
yeah I useualy look around my house for crap to destroy rather than going out and paying for something to destroy It was actualy 3" from my hand when I was reading Drewid's post. Im going to try and coat it with "something" to give it more of a smoother look rather then the neoprene (Plasti dip up here in Canada costs an arm and a leg.... $30 a rattle can) -

Ok... You gave me the idea to do them out of neoprene so I took my drink cozy and cut it up: Neoprene Plastic (what I had on for approval) What do you guys think I should use? I'm almost leaning towards the neoprene, just need to figure out how to weather it better. -
Suggestion for updated Kashyyyk Trooper CRL 2013
Death Recon replied to Grumpy's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
Dont loose hope on me now Matt... Hell I think you've got the most time and energy spent into this set of armor then anybody else. -
Oh man, not a good situation you found yourself in Im sorry this happened to you. If its anything like the Kashyyyk Trooper Armor then those are some of the hardest pieces to get perfect, sucks you have to do them over again In a lighter mood at least you know what you're doing... dare I say: “You can rebuild it. You have the technology. You can make it better than it was. Better...stronger...faster"

Chest armour grey shoulder straps
Death Recon replied to Adie1979's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
My T-Connector is all nylon webbing, I have it doubled up for durability. Yes the elastic strap is still connected to my knee pad in my sholder bell, and yes this is to wrap around my arm. This helps keep the bell from jumping around while moving but still giving it some give (again while moving) Just for clairification you guys know I ment a "plastic kitty litter pale" right? it's basicly just abs -
Suggestion for updated Kashyyyk Trooper CRL 2013
Death Recon replied to Grumpy's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
Im seeing if we can get this set in stone to be able to have a real CRL on the 501'st site. Can we get his topic pinned? -

Here's a good pic tutorial... Make a T-Connector (make sure it's big enough to leave a gap between your chest/back & the sholder strap is long enough to drop it where you want it... add Velcro to top of the chest/back connection strap, & add snaps to all 3 ends: Add a snap at the top of your sholder bells: Add snaps the the underside of your chest/back: Add Velcro to top ends of chest/back & underneath your grey straps: Paint it all black and then this is the end product all connected: Hope this helps -
Lighting has a huge factor on those screen shot, & Weathering will solve that issue with your oatmeal colour looking too light, remember there are two levels of certification to work towards. Tan riding patch is level 1 and Oatmeal is level 2. Both still require weathering as with basicly every piece of hard/soft armor.
