  1. haha, wow coming along GREAT... cant wait to see it being trooped in
  2. You should have waited to add the greebs on the bicep pieces... it would have made it easy to paint. But to each their own maybe you will find a better way and teach us
  3. I'm just going to point out a few things, take it with a grain of salt because you've done really well. 1. I noticed that your gloves wrist/forearm piece seems to be 2 separate pieces, it should be connected where the black glove meets the brown forearm piece. 2. most of your greebs do not seem to be the correct color, ie. your left bicep strap and box should be grey; your knee straps should be grey; and also your chest/back strap connectors should be grey as well. (unless they are grey and its just my monitor showing differently) 3. your thigh pockets that are attached to your pants are too large, they need to be 7" by 5" if I remember correctly But as I said you have a come along nicely and everything looks great Hope to see you get your approval soon so you can join us in the swamp! - Allan Aka Recon
  4. Those are a great find, thanks Manny
  5. what is this top secret "upgraded" greeblies you speak of?! LoL dont leave me in the dark boys
  6. Hey guys, I haven't been that active on the forum lately because of work/course... but that doesn't mean I haven't been popping in here to check up and see what everybody is up to. If you message me I can get back to you no problem so anybody in the Borden, Canada area that needs help can get ahold of me if they wish (you both know who you are lol) anyways guys just stoping in to say hi and tell you Im still around, been getting a few more troops in every once in a while since im now located in an area where I can participate!! Have fun guys, hope to see some new KT's in the swamp up north here soon.
  7. I used my tan tour boots and just dremeled the sides up a bit for more of a curve... The GML's know its hard/impossible to find the exact boot now so something that is pretty close is what your looking for remember cheap or expensive doesn't mean comfortable, you will be walking/standing in these for long periods of time!
  8. velcro, that way if you need to add anything you can dig some foam out and put whatever you need into the pouch without losing shape. ie. speakers or WHATEVER you can think of
  9. I have clear plexi glass, coverd by a mirrored green tint. the tint i got as a "sample" off some window tinting website, only cost me 25cents... was jsut a bit more than i needed so it was perfect. I suggest you try it this way as well, much easier and cheaper.
  10. This is awesome, thanks everyone who helped out and made this happen
  11. welcome to your new home
  12. I rather not change the CB either, but yes I'll 3rd the idea of the change from "BARC" to "Kashyyyk"
  13. I know I sent in relly good detailed photos with proper background and what not
  14. yeah thats a was a big Hasbro mishap that dubbed us BARC
  15. hmm, I'll have to add this as well... I only use a large strip of velcro to hold the toe cap on the boot (Ive trooped for 6 hours+ and walked around the whole time with no issues)
  16. LoL yeah like not even replying to my 2 different attempts at contacting them for approval. They just tossed me on the 501st side and never said boo to me
  17. a realy easy solution for the shoulder bells is knee pads.... go buy yourself a CHEAP pair or foam knee pads (under $5 at local hardware store, oh and they have elastic bands built in) take those and glue/secure them to the inside of the shoulder bell, its a nice comfortable fit on your shoulder and they shouldn't slide forward SCRATCH ALL THAT... just seen you have them in the pictures. try the velcro like Matt said, or try using tighter elastic straps
  18. yep yep, always loking to help another kashyyyk along
  19. yeah the shins were always a bit too wide, I did the same thing
  20. I was going to do the foam painting technique but I picked up a cheap airbrush and ended up doing it that way. That green looks a lot better, I think you need to add a touch of a "light" green (like a granny smith apple green) Oh and wasn't picasso's style more or less like a camo pattern
  21. Use "Krazy Glue" on the silicon pieces and they will stick.... something similar in the US I heard of is "Zap-A-Gap" I used Krazy Glue on the belt greeb to glue it to my nylon belt, also all my other greebs. If it dries then gets bent and twisted it will crack but even my belt has held up wonderfully and Iv tested that over and over.. The left bicep greeb doesn't bend or move once in place so it will not crack off. You should have waited to paint the inside of your armor, but all you have to do is give the spot you're gluing a quick hand sanding (I forgot to add a snap or two and had to do this)
  22. Wow, I have to admit Im in the same boat as Brent... The camo pattern is terrific! makes me wants to redo mine! tan and brown look good, I think I'd try to add grey to the green to bring it a more olive look (good luck, colour matching sucks, as we all know)
  23. LoL @ Brent & Tim... Everybody has something getting in the way of projects. But some of us are lucky to find a bit of extra time. Those gloves aren't finished yet Tim, they are just asking about how the hard armor looks while wearing it. Im not quite sure why you have your elbow armor riding down on your forearms/wrists (the top of the armor should be about flush with your elbow) The shins need to drop down more, just trim the bottom of them with a curve on the sides, this will make them drop down further onto your boot. Camo pattern looks good, you should try to get pictures outside so we can see the colours better... oh and if you put a clear flat coat on top it will help with the shine (I did this with mine as well) Your coming along nice, pretty quick too, keep it up!
  24. holy crap dude, dont you know Star Wars ALWAYS some first?
  25. Im really loving all the terrific work I see on this set. Great job. Very clean seems at the legs and arms, tank and tank topper looks perfect. Cant wait to see everything complete, keep her at it!
