  1. The shin strap size will work, a real buckle is always bigger than the strap used with it. I would think it better for you to paint on all your camo yourself. Having your pouches and hard armor paint scheme matching will give everything a good personalized look/feel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LoL, no not at all Matt I was only implying that you had more "experience" than me... old man
  2. Your doing a great job, and it was me you seen with the velcroed toe caps... I have the velcro running from the tips of the toe, to nearly where the laces start. Ive never had an issue with them coming loose at all and I've walked a pretty good distance in them (not as much as Matt though) For my cod piece I also used velcro... just two strips hanging down from inside of the nylon belt to the top inside of the cod piece. I dont have a big space so you cant see the velcro. I see you have your face greeblies already attached. I didn't attach mine until after I had all my camo painted on, I thought it would be easier that way,
  3. how about ONE Canadian dollar? Thats pretty close isnt it?
  4. your english is fine. as for the gloves Ill leave all that to Matt to nswer (Grumpy) he is the resident expert on those The top tank greeb also stuck up a lil bit on mine and i did bondo it flush, I think it helps the look of it if you ger it flush.
  5. very cool, Ill take a set thanks
  6. nice work, lets keep her going!
  7. yeah we have a few good shots of things scattered all over our side of the forum... sometimes hard to find something you seen but cant remember where
  8. Thats sounds about the same as what I have, I think its like page 3-4 on my WIP....
  9. heatgun took me less than 5 minutes... filing will take a lot longer
  10. Was jsut gonna say All I did to get mine back into shape was heat it up... this also worked witht he snout being cantered to the left (or more pushed in on the left) as long as your slow and carful a heat gun can be your friend
  11. 1st tan should work but i think the 2nd Tan looks off to much, The 3rd Tan looks the best i think The Brown looks too dark, I ended up doing a custom brown, went with a pig skin brown and added black untill I had it right. The 3rd green looks great compared the the screen caps I have though.
  12. I was just going to say everything Grumpy just did so I guess Ill just tell you to keep up the good work. Oh wait... EDIT: Yes you can fit the snout, I fixed mine with a heat gun because I couldn't take looking at the nose piece being off center like that, but MAtt is right, once you paint everything and have the camo pattern on there you will hardly notice it (but it still made me feel better to fit it) I did the same thing with the visor on the left side (it sticks out a little more than the helmet, easy fix again with heat gun) just take your time and don't try to turn the resin into a puddle LoL that would take a while though!
  13. I have a Kashyyyk Trooper so I have a little more armor than you guys with the Scout but I use a Stanley 50 Gal. I do have extra room but i use that space with lots of other things, ie. my 2 weapons (long and short DC-15's), a emergency repair kit, complete repair kit. plus any extra space is awesome to be able to bring back any thing-a-ma-bobs or doo-hickeys that you pick up at the cons. I also drive a SUV so it fits in the back no problem but for FAN-EXPO my wife and I went with her mid sized car and it fit in the back seat no problems. I say take the 50 gal and run with it, you can never have too much room, and when you DONT HAVE ENOUGH ir run into breaking your armor because you didnt do your 3 time lid check properly you will regret it
  14. but the belt will still need the squares painted, Im sure whatever your useing (think you said dragon skin) will hold paint better than the originals
  15. I like it! So it hold paint now eh? are you thinking of doign the belt as well? LoL I might have to get a set off of you buddy
  16. No, they are only attacked at a couple points: Top/Bottom and 2 or so in the middle. I suggest before sewing them on completely that you sew the top on then let it hang on your buddy then mark where to sew the strap onto the cummerbund in the middle and the bottom. I didn't do this the first time and since your body is not completely flat when i put my cummebund on the strap poofed out becasue they were beign bunched, Don't know if you understood that but hope it helps
  17. Looks fine, as long as it look relativly good when you join them then its easy to get everything else looking good with bondo or very carefully with a heat gun
  18. The tank topper is a little over an ince away from the curved edges.... and the eye decals are painted on unless you make some youself
  19. I lvore that ARF clone on the right, I think thats what my next build will be!! (seen it before but now it jsut got me dreamin again) Ok, Ill get photos to you right away... gonna dig my armor out now!!
  20. Congrats buddy! now change everything back to how it *should be* LoL
  21. Not at all Matt, Im glad you put your word in. Its true though, we need this finalized CRL so we can have something solid rather than what its been for so long with "I think this is better, and I think that is better" That can be left between the applicant and their GML. I am guilty of doing that though
  22. Thats a good colour, what's it called?
  23. Not at all Colin, I'm quite new myself only being approved a couple months ago (after working on my armor for a better part of a year) but you will find that even the guys in mid build can have a say (not saying it will change anything, but it might put it up for discussion) The real pioneers are Mr. B, Grumpy, and HeatShock.... these guys have been at it for a while and have been most active to promote and help out anybody new. But of course you still have people like Beselphfu and myself that are newer but more than willing to help out if you need a hand. Just make a post and tell us what your thinking or send one of us a PM. (I know I usually get a few every week asking questions and it doesn't bother me to help someone else along when I remember how I needed a helping hand once in awhile)
  24. Here... just for reference this is how much of the boot is covered by your toe cap
  25. Your toe cap armor is going to cover most of the boot right up to where it starts to bend up, and then a lil bit more than that on the sides. You might have a bit of the different colours shown on the sides though, I don't think the branding stamp will show to clearly but I'm pretty sure the shin armor stops above it so you might have to cover it. be easier if it wasn't a stramp, you could have dremmled it off, might still be able to but i don't know if you're going to do a leather/vinyl wrap then this boot would probably work really well since the soles and arch are pretty good, but then you could always look at a cheaper boot and do the same. Yes Lvl 2 is white with weathering (all pieces need weathering)
