  1. I know I read & reread that & is didn't make sense to me. Today is my "Friday" So I will take pics for you tomorrow morning.
  2. Well your out of luck on the pics. So here goes best discription I can give. Use the 1 cup size & draw your cut line on the bottom (outside) in a half circle 1/2" at its widest spot.. You should end up with a football shape. I think I measured 4" on open end. (the same side of the football) Now draw straight lines from the where the "football" meets the side wall to the open marks. This will creat a wedge shape. Cut two 1" lines about 1" apart in the middle of the side wall. if that makes sense. If not I'll take a pic this weekend & post it here for you.
  3. Let me see if I can find the pics I took of it back in the day. Seeing is better than me trying to describe how to do it.
  4. Hi Ernesto, Im in So Cal too, where you at?
  5. If you have to haveone, you can contact SC for a quick delivery. Or if your handy, you can make one out of a measuring cup for under $2. I found all white measuring cups at my local grocery store. I used the 1cp cut to shape & cut the strap slits. Perfect chin cup for $1.88 & I still the other size cup to use in the kitchen
  6. Where you at Paul? Im in So Cal
  7. Take it to any seamstress or taylor & they can put in a new zipper for about $20.
  8. On my suits I made a basic pattern & adjusted the size to the suit I was making. Normally the pattern I have will fit most troopers. But I did make a couple small ones & I had to down size it. I even had one extra large trooper that I had to upsize it. But of all the suits I've made wanna say these were the only 3 I had to maodify. JUST REMEMBER If your trying on the suit with the riding patch in place WITH OUT armor on it will look totally different. With out armor on my suit rides low & the patch hits my knees, but when Im wearing the bund the thong pulls everything up a couple inches & it sits perfect when the whole costume in on.
  9. PM semt with options
  10. Well you know Blizzard Force has theSnow Scouts. I was the only Snow Scout deployed in sunn southern California for a while. Now I have a few Brothers & Sisters deployed with me here in the heat. Here's a couple pics of me scouting for Rebels just outside the Hoth Base & a couple of my mini companion The Legions only Mini Snow Scout "Snowball"
  11. I always wanted to be a Scout Trooper & the 1st one I saw up close & personal was back in 2009. He still had the military flightsuit. Then I went to A Celebration in Florida. I was sitting outside my hotel having breakfast & a Scout walked by. Immediately something caught my eye. He had a riding patch & mud flap. As I had never seen these on the movie or heard of this before I dove into the costume research. Thats when I learned the movie costumes had these. When I made my suit I tried to use the template on here. I made it out of paper. But when it did not match up in the crotch area & I didnt like this. So I looked at my military bdu's(they have a crotch patch) modified this slightly & came up with my own pattern. I've made lots of riding suits Badic & Lancer for Peeps here & never had an issue with one.
  12. Smart men think alike. I will beguin on my wife's Scout this weekend.
  13. I have both a KS & CB. I love them equally. When I wear the KS I think man this is nice & can't any better. Then I put on the CB & am in love. I have heard of the bad pulls from KS, but can't confirm so don't want to give it a bad rep. Here's a pic of all my helmets. From left to right. DP, KS & CB. If your looking for the largest helmet out there I would say the CB is probably it.
  14. JIM TO THE RESCUE!
  15. I sew the elastic all the way around the leg. I tack it down with 3-4 stiches by hand at the middle leg seam. This way its in place when you sew the riding patch down. The leg bands are there & wil be secured properly by the sewing machine stiching. In essece a 2 for 1. Also on the middle crotch seam meassure down 2 inches on each side of the leg & mark with a sewing pencil/soap marker. Place the top of the elastic here, pin & add your 3-4 tack stiches.(don't forget to remove the pin) This wil give you the perfect height on the leg bands.
  16. Ewok labor is cheap
  17. Looks ok. Remember once you have the cummerbund on, the "thong" will raise that patch up into the proper position.
  18. Admin feel free to move this to the appropriate section. I realized I had posted it in the weapons after & couldn't figure out how to delete it. Sorry
  19. Here's a couple pics of me taken on my "Endor Forrest" with some of the weapons of the Imperial Scout Trooper.
  20. Can't wait to see a pic of you in costume with this in your hands. Here's a pic of me with a Hyperfirm DLT-19(Don't mean to hyjack, just wanna share)
  21. I have a tutorial here on attaching the riding patch. But you can use micro fiber (faux suede) or you can use 1.5g-2.5g pig skin leather. You don't want to go any thinker than the 2.5g because you can't sew with a regualr sewin machine. Anyhoo I belive the question was how to attach the riding patch. You will want to sew it on, NEVER USE GLUE!!! MICRO FIBER, If your using the micro fiber you will want to use "Heat & Bond HEAVY DUTY".(red letters) This will basicly turn your patch in to an iron on. What you will do is cut your riding patch out(heam the edges if you have a material that will unravel) trace this pattern onto the Heat & Bond & cut out the shape. Next you will want to apply to the riding patch. Set your iron on to high, lay the riding patch with the "suede" facing down, place the Heat & Bond on top of the riding patch & hold in place. Place the hot iron on, lift & replace on the next section. I think this has to be repeated 4x-5x to cover the whole riding patch. Depends on how big you patch is, might be more or less. Depends on how big you are. Now here come the hard part. lay your jumpsuit with the legs wide open(make sure your leg bands are already attached) Fold the riding patch in half & test fit this on the jumpsuit. You will want to line up the fold crease with the middle seam on the jumpsuit. Now peel off the protective layer on the Heat & Bond & do another test fitting. Once your ready to commit do as before. Place the patch in the desired position(matching fold crease & seam) place the Heat & Bond side down & hold yur patch in place. Place the hot iron down for a few seconds, lift & repete like before. Imediatly take to your sewing machine & sew it down while the Heat & Bond is still warm. This is how I attached the riding patch to all my basic suits. REAL LEATHER(suede), if your using real suede the Heat & Bond will not work. You will need to cut out your riding patch pattern & pin in place. This will cause lots of finger pricks & F Bombs dropped But it will look hella nice when done. Ok back to the instructions. After you cut out your shape fold & try to get a fold crease. Not as easy with real leather but it can be done. Place fold crease on the center seam like in above directions. But now you will slowly pin in place with straingt pins. I've found its easier if you use the straight pins with the colored ball ends. This is easier on your fingers as there is more to push on. Real leather is tough! Once you have in place you will sew VERY SLOWLY with your sewing machine. You will need to switch your sewing machines needle to a Heavy Duty needle. Use a size 16 or 16g sewing needle. I buy these in a 10pk for $3. I've seen these at Walmart for around $5 for a 5pk
  22. Here ya go Peeps! I've made several RedKap conversion suits for Basic & Lancer approved here on the BSN. Here's a checklist on all pockets to be removed or modded. REMOVED- Chest, Hip, & Theigh "Utility" SEW CLOSED- Open Slash & Front Slash For the Theigh Utility the pant leg will need to be opened up with a seam ripper. Remove the utility pocket & resew the pant leg. * For the front Slash pockets(not the open through) if you choose you can leave these open to store your keys, phonce ect. When the costume is worn the belt will keep it closed. It's up to the individual wearer as I have made both ways depending on the customers wish.
  23. Here are the boots with the holster attached. Several troops including walking in 2 parades, so they are pretty broken in now. I attached the holster with rivits with small washers as backing on the inside of the boot. No inner "support" strip was added. The leather is strong enough to stand up with the holster attached on its own.
  24. These are the full leather boots covered under "BOOTS". I have them & absolutley love them. I was one of the 1st to buy & there were a few mods that needed to be corrected & I belive they have been since it was adressed. They are custom made to your measurements so you can't go wrong.
  25. Are there any Big5 Sporting Goods near you? They carry womens & kids work boots. Most under $30
