Ahhh Dude! You fell for the "you can buy what ever you want after the wedding" line.

Its code so Disney doens'tt send in the Mouse to whack us all. PM me & I'll tell you what all the acronyms mean.

Why dont you just paint the details on? Pick your own gray & problem solved.

Looks ok, but also looks off because your missing the buckles. When you add the buckles it will be easier for you to see exactly where you should place them.

Measure once twice three times if neccassary. Because once you cut theres no turning back.

Dude, make your own clips. I just made some fir a TK thermal det. Found some scrap aluminum pieces in the garage. Bent, filed edges & drilled in less than 5min. I realize I made these for a diffrent costume. But you wouldnt have to put the curve in them, so even quicker to make.

I just finished my KS build. Took my time & took about 5 days to complete.

Fiberglass Scout bucket from ebay
Chunk replied to CRISTONAMO's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
It might not be the primer at all. It could be the diffrent materials that the armor is made from. I just finshed painting a full set of armor made from HIP & a helmet made of ABS. Used the same brand of primer & high gloss white on both. Ended up with two diffrent finishes. Too me it didn't matter, because I wet sanded all & am going for a weathered look. Sorry to hijack too- 64 replies

Wahooo! I made the list

I prefer the scuffs & dings. But you can use any liquid car wax. Rub on & buff off. Good to go, one shiney new scout.

I like it, but my wife will never wear it. She's a purest & only wears "official" costumes. On the other hand she looks great in her Slave Bikini, so can't complain really.

I have choice 1 on both my Biker Scout & Snow Scout

E-6000 is the best glue for all armor kits. Sand the entire helmet/armor with regular extra fine sandpaper. Your ruffing up the plastic & giving the primer something to grip to. Primer, then spray paint gloss white. Use what ever you like. My favorite is Walmart brand, cant best .98 a can. Next wet sand the entire helmet/armor. Have a bowl with water & a few drops of dish soap. Dip the entire wet sandpaper in the bowl & gently sand & dry off. If you want a shine use any car wax.

I have a KS & had the same problem with a thin gap. I used bathroom calking & came out great. I plan on paiting the whole helmet.

Sorry Alex, but they wont be allowed. I myself havn't built a pait of scout boots. But I have read the tutorials over & over. Im thinking I can make a pair & I think if you read the tuts til you understood them fully. You could too for a fairly cheap price. Work Boots $30 (Walmart) Vinyl $20 E6000 $4 Rivets .02 Ok you'll probably have to buy them in a pack $4 Velcro $3yd Your time The whole list around $60 Take your time & it can be done. One of these days when Im slow in building riding suits I'll make another pair of boots.

Need help with mounting 3M Speedglas on a MC Bucket
Chunk replied to Drakon's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
You will have to carfully cut a square hole out in the visor for the base of the 3m bolts to sit flush. There is a tute around here somewhere, just can't remember who wrote it. You'll need a pencil, sharp exacto knife or drill & a small hobby file. You can trace the pattern onto some paper first & rest fit the "square" . If your satisfied lay the paper on the visor & trace out your square. If using the exacto knife make sevral gentle cuts until the unwanted piece is able to pop out. use file to file down any unwanted plactic. If using the drill, find a bit that is a lil smaller than the square you want to remove & drill new hole. With the file you will remove all unwanted plastic to make the the round hole square. Both are fairly easy to do, just need some time & patience. -
I wear an Under Armor balaclava. It is the coldgear & made for winter, but I wear it year long. Very thin & comfy. I just purchaced a generic UA style form eBay this week for under $15. UA is expensive & normally run about $30 This mask can be worn over the mouth like the pic or pulled down to be worn under the chin. I wear mine over the mouth, very breathable & comfy. http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_4952wt_1399
